How King Charles' Coronation procession will differ from Queen Elizabeth's | Royal Insight - YouTube

Great footage from the last coronation in this video.
It was interesting to learn that some carriages had to be rented out for Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation.

Kate told Meghan to 'sit at back if she attended Coronation' - author | Royal | News | Express.co.uk

This article is completely made up, consisting of Tom Bower ranting as usual about Meghan and Harry to Nigel Farage at the right wing (and failing outlet) GB News. As if Kate had any responsibility about where Meghan (or Harry) was to sit at the Coronation! She had and has nothing to say about where anybody is to be seated!

Bower is obsessed about the Sussexes even more than Angela Levin is. Every interview these two elderly people give is about the couple, especially on Sky and GB News. And Dan Wootton is almost as bad. Just move on guys. Find somebody else to attack, write another book, move on! It?s ridiculous!

The war had changed a lot of things, including how many carriages the Royal Mews could maintain and repair. Aristocratic families in Britain had been getting rid of their carriages as well, since the end of WW1. Sir Alexander Korda the film-maker, whose company made several historical films in the 1940s and 50s, was about the only person who had a supply of them. Even with what he supplied many foreign royals travelled between BP and the Abbey in bulky late 1930s cars, which were reasonably comfortable.

Meghan has never caused drama or any noise at any formal royal occasion.

And if you believe what a trashy tabloid reports about Kate being able to order where anyone is seated at the Coronation, then I?m sorry, that is completely incorrect. There is a BP Committee that is in charge of all Coronation arrangements, via the Lord Chamberlain?s Office at BP and Kate is neither on that Committee or working in the Lord Chamberlain?s Office.

Even when Kate is Queen, if the monarchy lasts that long, it will be as Consort not Queen Regnant. And neither Queens Consort or Princesses of Wales are in charge of any facets of Coronation arrangements. That is something the author Tom Bower has made up, his hatred of Meghan having made him odd and obsessive about her as I stated before. That linked report doesn?t have any fact backing it up, typical of tabloid reporting.

Thousands of veterans and NHS staff given prime spots to see Coronation procession ? Royal Central

QuoteAlmost four thousand military veterans and NHS staff have been given the best seats in the house for the Coronation processions.

Over 3,800 have been invited to prime viewing spots in front of Buckingham Palace where they will have a close up view of the royal processions to and from Buckingham Palace as well as the balcony appearance and the special fly past after the ceremony.

The special guests include veterans from the Armed Forces as well as NHS and social care workers and members of charities supported by the Royal Family.

They will all have tickets to a specially constructed viewing stand which will allow them to see the King?s Procession, the Coronation Procession and the balcony appearance by the Royal Family.

Tens of thousands more are expected to line the 1.3 mile route between Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey where places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

As the news of the special stands was announced, Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer said ??As a mark of the nation?s profound gratitude, it is right that in celebrating the Coronation we include and champion those who have dedicated their lives to public service.?

Philippa Rawlinson, Director of Remembrance at the Royal British Legion said ?The Armed Forces hold great importance to the nation as they work to protect us, our freedoms and our society?s way of life. We know that it will be a great privilege for members of the Armed Forces community to see their new Commander in Chief on this significant day.?

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/armed-forces-personnel-to-feature-in-coronation

QuoteMore than 6,000 men and women of the United Kingdom?s Armed Forces will participate in the historic Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla next month.

In the largest military ceremonial operation for 70 years sailors, soldiers and aviators from across the UK and the breadth of the Commonwealth will take part in two magnificent processions accompanying Their Majesties to and from Westminster Abbey, where the Coronation Service takes place.

Later in the day, military personnel will conduct a breath-taking Coronation flypast of more than 60 aircraft from the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force flying over The Mall in Central London.

From military bases in all corners of the country and on His Majesty?s ships at sea, gun salutes will sound out to herald the moment when The King is crowned.

Across the coming weeks, Armed Forces personnel around the country will be busy rehearsing for their role in a display of pageantry, professionalism and pride to honour their new Commander-in-Chief, The King.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said:

This is the very best news in a long time about the royal family, the nation's military more than anyone else deserves it totally. Glad to see Charles takes this seriously and lets the best have the best seats in the house...... :stars:

Yes the Coronation events dates were going to be coinciding  with one of the The Netherlands major public holidays- May 5th-Liberation day, that does require the King and Queen to be present at home. Sending the two Princesses to the reception is an excellent idea. Beatrix has a long standing relationship with the older members of the BRF and Amalia can now gain some additional experience and meet more than one of her peers who are their nation's current heir to the throne.
