Ukrainian recruits have been trained in the UK since  July 2022 and the commitment will continue throughout 2023.

The King today visited an Armed Forces training exercise and was received by General Sir Patrick Sanders (Chief of the General Staff).

His Majesty observed a demonstration of trench defence and met multinational instructors and Ukrainian soldiers.

His Excellency Mr Pedro Antonio Serrano de Haro was received in audience by The King today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the European Union to the Court of St James's.

Ms Ana Perez Kramer was also received by His Majesty.

Her Excellency Ms Aichatou Boulama Kane was received by The King and presented the Letters of Recall of her predecessor and her own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Niger to the Court of St James's.

Sir Philip Barton (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs) was present.

The Rt Hon James Cleverly MP (Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs) was received in audience by The King this afternoon.

The Lady Sainsbury of Preston Candover was received by His Majesty and delivered up the Insignia of the Order of the Garter worn by her husband, the late Lord Sainsbury of Preston Candover.

The King held a Privy Council at 4.30pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Penelope Mordaunt MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Sue-Ellen Braverman MP (Secretary of State for the Home Department), the Rt Hon David Davies MP (Secretary of State for Wales), the Rt Hon Alister Jack MP (Secretary of State for Scotland) and the Rt Hon Olukemi Badenoch MP.

The Rt Hon Olukemi Badenoch MP took the Oath of Office, kissed hands upon appointment and received the Seals of Office as Secretary of State for Business and Trade (International Trade).

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Penelope Mordaunt MP had an audience of His Majesty before the Council.

The Rt Hon Sir Clive Alderton (Principal Private Secretary to Their Majesties) and the Rt Hon Sir Edward Young (Joint Principal Private Secretary to His Majesty) were in attendance.

The Governor-General of Canada (the Rt Hon Mary Simon) had an audience with The King via telephone this evening.

The King this morning visited the Felix Project, Unit 12 and 14 Thomas Road Industrial Estate, Thomas Road, London E14, and was received by Colonel Jane Davis (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London), the Founders of the Felix Project (Mr Justin Byam Shaw and Mrs Jane Byam Shaw) and the Mayor of London (the Rt Hon Sadiq Khan).

His Majesty, escorted by Ms Charlotte Hill (Chief Executive), toured the depot and kitchen and met members of the warehouse team, volunteers and representatives from the Project's community partners, before unveiling a community freezer and joining a Reception for supporters.

The Earl of Dalhousie was received by The King this afternoon, delivered up his Wand of Office and took leave upon relinquishing his appointment as Lord Steward.

The Earl of Rosslyn was received by The King, kissed hands upon his appointment as Lord Steward and received from His Majesty his Wand of Office.

The President of the German Bundestag (Ms B?rbel Bas) was received by The King.

The Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of His Majesty via telephone.

The Queen Consort, Patron, BookTrust, this afternoon received Mr Joseph Coelho (Children's Laureate).

The King and The Queen Consort this afternoon held a Reception at Clarence House to celebrate Literature and the Second Anniversary of Her Majesty's "Reading Room".

The Queen Consort later re-opened Boston Manor, Boston Manor Road, Brentford, marking its Four Hundredth Anniversary, and was received by Ms. Rosemary Prescott (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Majesty afterwards visited the Jimmy Choo Academy, Boston Manor Road, Brentford.

The King, Sovereign of the Order, was present this morning at a Service of the Royal Victorian Order held in St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal, Grand Master of the Order, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were also present.

His Majesty was received by the Dean of Windsor (the Right Reverend David Conner) and the Chaplain of the Order (the Reverend Canon Thomas Woodhouse).

Detachments of His Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, The King's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard and the Military Knights of Windsor were on duty in St George's Chapel.

Afterwards The King gave a Reception at Windsor Castle for those who attended the Service.

The King and The Queen Consort, Patron, this afternoon visited the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey, and were received by the Chief Executive of Historic Royal Palaces (Mr John Barnes) and the Chairman of the Royal School of Needlework (Ms P Wood).

Their Majesties, escorted by Dr Susan Kay-Williams (Chief Executive, Royal School of Needlework), viewed the progress of work being undertaken for the Coronation by embroiderers and other members of Royal School of Needlework staff, before viewing displays of objects from past Coronations from the Royal School of Needlework Archive and Collection and objects from the Historic Royal Palaces Collection.

The Queen Consort, Colonel-in-Chief, The Rifles, this afternoon received General Sir Patrick Sanders upon relinquishing his appointment as Colonel Commandant and Lieutenant General Tom Copinger-Symes upon assuming the appointment.

By command of The King, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon Her Excellency Mrs Vanessa Eugenia Interiano Elfarnawany at 8 Dorset Square, London NW1, this morning in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of El Salvador to the Court of St. James's.

His Excellency Mr Yannis Tsaousis was received in audience by The King today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Hellenic Republic to the Court of St James's.

His Excellency Mr Koray Ertas was received in audience by The King and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Turkey to the Court of St James's.

Mrs Ertas was also received by His Majesty.

Sir Philip Barton (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs) was present.

The King this afternoon officially opened the new London Headquarters of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development at Five Bank Street, London E14, and was received by Colonel Jane Davis (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London), the President of the Bank (Mrs Odile Renaud-Basso) and Mr Peter Curwen (the Board Director representing the United Kingdom).

His Majesty toured the Bank, escorted by the President, and met Ukrainian and Turkish staff before viewing an art exhibition of paintings from Ukraine and joining a Meeting with the Board of Directors on green transition.

Mrs Derek Cross was later received by The King upon relinquishing her appointment as The late Queen's Diary Secretary.

The King and The Queen Consort left Royal Air Force Brize Norton this morning for the State Visit to Germany.

Their Majesties were received at the Airport by the Lord Parker of Minsmere (Lord Chamberlain) and His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire (Mrs Marjorie Glasgow).

The King and The Queen Consort this afternoon arrived at Berlin-Brandenburg Government Airport and were received by His Majesty's Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany (Her Excellency Mrs Jill Gallard), the Ambassador from the Federal Republic of Germany to the Court of St James's (Mr Miguel Berger), Mrs Dorte Dinger (State Secretary of the Federal President's Office) and Mr Till Knorn (Chief of Protocol of the Federal Foreign Office).

The King and The Queen Consort drove to the Brandenburg Gate and were received by The President of the Federal Republic of Germany and Mrs Budenbender.

His Majesty inspected the Guard of Honour.
The King and The Queen Consort, with The President of the Federal Republic of Germany and Mrs. Budenbender, subsequently walked through Pariser Platz before departing by car for Bellevue Palace, Berlin.

The King later attended a Sustainability Reception at Bellevue Palace and planted a tree for The Queen's Green Canopy in the Palace Garden.

The King and The Queen Consort were entertained this evening at a State Banquet given by The President of the Federal Republic of Germany and Mrs Budenbender at Bellevue Palace.
