The first time that I've seen the York sisters referred to by their married names in the Court Circular. I'm just sorry it was for a sad occasion. IMO Eduardo and Jack did very well with this very solemn event.

Some articles today about PP's Will. Apparently he has left his GBP 10 Million and assets to the Queen, arts and books to the Royal Collection Trust, Carriage and Ponies to Lady Louise.   Which also brings the discussion of the tradition of leaving the bulk to the next in line, which has no tax deduction.  And the tradition of trust funds for everyone else or the tax rule of can't touch (everyone else) for 20 years to not get charged/debited as a inheritance tax.

TLLK

Ok reading the news that Lady Louise is to inherit his carriage and ponies has made me a little emotional. They shared a very special love  of the sport.

Former King Constantine and Queen Anne Marie of Greece sent their personal wreath to the island of Corfu to rest inside the church where Prince Phillip was baptized.

According to this article the senior royal ladies: Princess Royal, Duchesses of Cornwall and Cambridge and Countess of Wessex will create a rota to ensure that QEII is not alone. For now, the visits will be outdoors on walks with the recently widowed Queen. IMO this is an excellent idea to be outdoors in the fresh air (weather permitting) with their dogs. Good exercise for the dogs  since we know that the Queen and the Cambridge households have puppies.

Anne, Camilla, Catherine and Sophie create a rota to visit The Queen so she is not alone ? Royal Central

QuoteThe Royal Family have agreed to a rota system which will ensure The Queen is not alone following the death of Prince Philip.

Spearheaded by Princess Anne, the rota will assign members of The Royal Family to Windsor Castle at designated times to keep the monarch company.

The easing of lockdown restrictions in the past week means it is now possible for different members of Her Majesty?s family to visit her residence, so long as the rules on the day are followed.

According to The Daily Mirror, the royals will join The Queen for socially distanced walks with their dogs in Windsor.

The plans were made by The Princess Royal alongside the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duchess of Cambridge and the Countess of Wessex.

Wednesday will mark the first time The Queen has marked her birthday without Prince Philip by her side for nearly eight decades.

The Royal Family will really around her in the days, weeks and months ahead so she does not get lonely.

The Greek-Danish wreath left inside the church where he was baptized has made me a bit emotional.  The interconnections of the different royal houses is such a fascinating thing on its own, but it's really all about family members and how there are still those ties that bind. And we know that King Constantine and Queen Anne Marie have always been close to the British Royal Family.

Lady Pamela Hicks still refers to the Queen as Lillibet.

So does ex King Juan Carlos of Spain and his family. I noted that at the time of the Diamond Jubliee when so many royals came to London, and at the time of King Felipe and Queen Leti?s State Visit a few years ago.

The Spanish and British royal families were quite closely linked due to Queen Ena of Spain being the daughter of Queen Victoria?s youngest daughter Beatrice. Ena (paternal grandmother to JC) was in England a great deal in her later years and really maintained regular contact with the British royals, as did/does JC?s estranged wife Queen Sofia and her brother ex King Constantine of Greece.

Blue Clover

I am still feeling a huge loss over Philip's death. It will be some time before we see how this impacts the entire family, with the pandemic we won't see them together much.

Yes he did and there are now at least three generations of recipients who have earned a Duke of Edinburgh award including one of his granddaughters-in-law the former Catherine Middleton.  :)

Mike Tindall speaks about the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh and confirms that afterwards that all returned to their vehicles and went home.

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-56940874

QuoteThe ex-England rugby player, who is married to the monarch's granddaughter, Zara, said Prince Philip would have liked the "beautifully done" service, which followed Covid rules.

It meant the Queen, 95, had to sit alone and just 30 guests could attend.

He also told of the impact Parkinson's disease had had on his father.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Mr Tindall said the loss of the duke was "always going to be difficult", but that the Queen was "amazing" at the funeral, which took place on 17 April.

"Having to see the Queen make a stand in terms of showing what the world is at the moment and sit on her own and be as brave as she was, I thought just summed her up as a lady," he said.

"Then the funeral finished and it was 'get in your cars and go home', but that is what was allowed, that is what the rules state, so that is what happened."

He said it was "tough" - but added the funeral had been "done so well" that he thought the duke would "be looking down and he would have actually been happier about the way it happened".
