Countess Joins In Guiding Fun

The Countess of Wessex visited a new residential lodge for Somerset's girl guides, joining in with marshmallow toasting and cooking cakes.  The new £400,000 lodge in Wedmore will be used by rainbows, guides and brownies from Wrington, Wedmore, Axbridge and Weare.

The site was bought in 1986 and, since then, hundreds of girls and women from Girlguiding Somerset and Somerset North have dedicated their time to fundraising to bring the project to fruition.

Somermead Campsite and Lodge will provide residential stays for 24 young people and leaders at a time.

Thanks for the article cinrit.  :flower: Sophie and the guides look like they were having a lot of fun. I remember Kate making a similar visit but with the Scouts (is this correct?). I particularly like the photo of Sophie and one of the guides playing jenga.  :D

You're welcome, HereditaryPrincess.  I thought it looked like they were playing Jenga, but that's the biggest Jenga set I've ever seen!
