Intro from Granny K

Hi! I'm a 50-something American with two grandsons. I became a follower of Prince William when I discovered I may have a very distant link to him in my family tree (as do millions of others). Now I should explain, I'm a serious genealogist normally...BUT this link to William is not proven as I want to keep the illusion that I am somehow related, no matter how slim LOL!

Anyway, my posts will most likely be few...but I will be lurking here frequently for my 'William fix'!

How do I become an official Willite?

I wait that you are of William´s family, but if you will not be do not worry about it... My real name is Fernanda Nunes, I not use nickname, and I am from Brazil, so I ask calm with my English please :blush:, In Brazil we have so great variety of mixture of families here, that finishes that everybody starts to be of the same family, in my classroom of the university always has a "Nunes", this is that is good, I does not find that the people are superior the others for having been born in definitive family ... I believe a lot in God and the love for the next one, and of the same treatment that I give to the President of Brazil I will give to a beggar... :hug:

Yes, I agree...the more work I do in genealogy, the more I realize that we are ALL related in some way.

My main work on my tree is serious. Sometimes, though, I try to connect with famous people. This part is not to be taken seriously....it's just something that I do for a bit of 'fun'! And it usually leads me to learn a little more about history (which I was lousy at when I was younger...LOL!).

I come of family Thiers, that they are a French family who made a city in Brazil and them well they are appraised here, they were married between cousins not to mix ... its awful...lol...but my father married with a girl simple (my mother) that she is more than 20 years new then my father (28 years), they love a lot each other until today, I never saw couple more fail in love then my parentes, she is daughter of very simple people, that comes of families of Portuguese, blacks, indios, Jews, then was born I, that I am a mixture in person as thousand of Brazilians... :) :flowers:

angeleyed....yes, sometimes genealogy can be VERY difficult. But I'm also a lover of mysteries (the less violent variety like Agatha Christie), so it's always exciting when I finally 'solve' one of my 'brickwalls'.
