Oh yes, yet another farcical salute on an important occasion taken by a member of the Royal Family who has never been near an actual parade ground in her life. She's never taken part in service life, nor has her husband apart from the brief and pathetic tryout with the Marines. No Service medals ever worn by either. It truly is grotesque farce that (these increasingly elderly) civilian royals try to pull every time.

There are now three senior working members of the Royal Family who have actually served in the armed forces. The King, a man who will be 77 this year and who staggered through his naval career damaging ships, the Duke of Kent, a man who spent decades in the army but who is now old and frail that he is hardly seen any more, and William, whose service in the RAF before he went into civilian search and rescue, was so brief that it was almost a 'blink and you'll miss it' moment.

And the King and POW and all the rest wear uniforms on occasions that they have never earned (Edward's is particularly egregious considering his attempt) and all of them, including the King, prance around wearing on their chests objects that appear to be medals but in reality are  Coronation and Jubilee medallions and Commonwealth honours, again unearned! It is truly unbelievable.
