Oh we humans  so have destroyed this planet we live on all for the sake of money, last winter my area did not get any snow, just a tiny dusting and I have lived here for 20 years.  First time ever as I usually get 3 or 4 feet of snow off and on all winter. Snow is so  needed  as it brings spring, leaves, flowers and beautiful green grass. Amy hope for the future, at the way world leaders are going......when pink pigs fly by.  I won't be around to see the end of our planet so the young generation will have to deal with it, we really left you a horrible mess, good luck!

Prince William urged to add vegan category to Earthshot Prize
Celebrities have signed an open letter asking HRH to use his climate change awards to ?incentivise a plant-powered revolution?

In an open letter to the Prince, they state that to achieve the goal of repairing and protecting the planet, people must change how they eat.

The letter claims that the current five categories that comprise the Earthshot Prize ?fall short? of what is necessary to make a difference.

They are; protect and restore nature, revive the oceans, clean the air, build a waste-free world and fix the climate.

The signatories propose a sixth category for those advancing a plant-based food system.

Kensington Palace declined to comment.

The campaign was organised by Generation Vegan, which has offered to stump up the prize money for the additional category.

^ The open letter was leadered by Sharon Osbourne, Olivia Colman and more than a dozen actors, singers. They have added that they will pay the 1 Million for this category.  The Vegan organization is not radical, I'd also ask W to consider it and them to find around the world best practices to showcase. I'm not sure if the agriculture category though suffices.

ETA: The fact that these people wrote an open letter to W means they respect him and find the Earthshot Prize as a huge platform - they indirectly state it, by saying that Vegan should go and Vegans around the world would benefit being a category/mention.

Prince William heads to New York for UN General Assembly climate week event | The Independent

The Prince of Wales will hold talks with UN secretary general Ant?nio Guterres during his whistle-stop visit to the United States to celebrate the 2023 Earthshot Prize finalists.

William will meet Mr Guterres during the UN General Assembly in New York on Monday, as the city holds its annual climate week event ? a gathering of business leaders, politicians and civil society aimed at driving the transition to a sustainable future.

The future king is making a two-day visit to the Big Apple to promote his Earthshot Prize, an ambitious environmental award, now in its third year.

Before meeting the global statesman, the prince will visit the Billion Oyster Project to learn more about the initiative which aims to restore oyster reefs to New York Harbour with the help of school children and volunteers.

On Tuesday, he will attend the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit where the 2023 finalists will be named and their projects showcased.
