could we stop talking about them and hte coronation.  If they do go, so what?

Someone days ago asked if the media was inventing stuff about will they won't they.

So Omid's employer replied yesterday.

^That is to be expected of them...so they arrive late, the last ones in like before so that everyone can see them and acknowledge them, playing a game of who is better than me or you type.  So if they do go and arrive late, will the doors be locked on them for disrupting the Coronation?  This is just their way of grabbing attention as they still need the royal fairy dust to let everyone know they are royals....only they aren't anymore!

IMHO if any invited guest who is meant to be seated in Westminster Abbey is late for any reason ie transportation, then they would be quietly escorted to their seat along the side aisles at an appropriate point in the service. It would be the same if it occurred  during a theater performance.

As distinct from Angela Levin, Penny Junor, Robert Jobson Richard Kay and the dozens of other journalists, including the RRs who would be unemployed if it weren?t for the BRF, who take gossip and briefings from the Palace and peddle the BP line.

This is why. The tabloids.

It is what everybody has been talking about and they've been keeping everybody waiting, not just those who are interested in whether they're attending but also the organisers," Daily Mirror Royal Editor, Russell Myers told Today.
"They still haven't sent back their RSVP, we're still the none the wiser - we are led to believe they're close to making a decision, so I suppose we'll hold our breath until they do."

After the tabloid ranting about the Sussexes not RSVP-ing for the Coronation and informing the media about their reply, the Express had a two way bet about this four says ago.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have already responded to Coronation invite - suggests clue | Royal | News | Express.co.uk

It couldn?t be, could it, that the Lord Chamberlain?s office have in fact received a reply from the couple accepting the invitation but have chosen not to tell the Press about it because BP doesn?t want to preempt any announcement from the Sussexes, does it? Oh, the horror of it, the Lord C Office AND the Sussexes not telling us about the correspondence! Lol!

there is sitil no legal or moral obligation to read the tabloids or make comments.  THe Sussexes may go or not. We'll see if we watch the Coronation.

Could be. Although all that says is that guests were politely asked to please RSVP. Not that everyone did RSVP. But I do agree that BP would never announce that they did or didn?t. But this goes to my earlier point that if they haven?t said and have already given their response, I do believe it is a yes.

Charles sparks huge row with Church leaders over Coronation role of non-Christian faiths | Royal | News | Express.co.uk

This is interesting. Love the move from Charles. I can somewhat understand the Church of England wanting a monopoly on the event since he is being anointed under that specific faith. However, this is 2023. There?s plenty of people in the Commonwealth with diverse faiths or no faith at all. To have leaders from different faiths there would be a statement that the King accepts any and all faiths.

I don?t think being the defender of the faith requires him to exclude other faiths, but an interesting discussion, especially with the close ties that monarchies have with religion.

Charles has had many years to think about this subject.  'The Faith' is the Protestant reformed religion established law. It doesn't mean can't defend other faiths.

He's really create a an issue when none exists. He didn't mind swearing an oath during the council. Secularists don't like it but it's never been an issue with other religions as far as I know. They understand why he takes that particular oath.

They will be of many representatives of different faiths. It's just that it's an Anglican service for a country that has an established religion.

I?m not sure that his proposition makes it not an Anglican service. I think from Charles? perspective, he is seeking to include all faiths in the ceremony itself to make the ceremony more than just an Anglican one. We?ve not had a English coronation in the modern age, so it?s clear he wants to show people what he believes his reign will be about.

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-65213428.amp

Similarly, with his move to invite so many community leaders, I think he wants to show that this isn?t just about a religious oath he is taking. I think it highlights his own commitment to help the Commonwealth and making the day about them just as much as it is for him.

My opinion is, of course, highly biased, as I do not belong to any organized religion. And while I fully respect the right of those to worship how they wish, I also appreciate Charles trying to expand the meaning of the day from just an Anglican one to one that?s centered on the Commonwealth and it?s diversity in the 21st Century. For all that talk about what a ?modern monarchy? might look like, I think this is a small example.

PrincessOfPeace

^^ Yes that's true.

I don't think this has been posted up thread. -

^And what a perfect follow-up! We have a change that could occur that would be unprecedented to a continuation of roles that have historic symbolism. This is why this event intrigues nerds like me so much. To have an ancient tradition occur in an age of so much cultural and societal change really highlights all of these contradictions that we live with (for better or worse). Love it. Thanks for posting!

Gert?s Royals Twitter says European Royals are invite to King Charles?s coronation included on the lists

The Spain Palace has confirmed to local media that King Felipe & Queen Letizia will attend King Charles's Coronation.

Prince Albert of Monaco officially confirms he and Princess Charlene will attend King Charles' Coronation. He had said months ago, he expected to attend. But Prince Albert says The Twins won?t attend as there is a limited number of invites per delegation.

Reigning houses: Still waiting on confirmation from Belgium,  Lichtenstein,  The Netherlands, and Norway among the European reigning houses. Among the European non-reigning: Still waiting on Bulgaria, Italy, various German houses, Romania and Serbia. I do believe that all mentioned will send a representative especially if there was a representatives at the late QEII's funeral in September.
I haven't seen anything for the many other Asian, Middle Eastern and African monarchies.

Here's Gerts Royals blog for the list.
