Charles is not tasked with managing anything.  He is the King.
and as for his family, how is he supposed to manage someone as unmanageable and as difficult and deceitful as Harry backed by Meghan? THe past 3 years have proved clearly that Harry is unstable, unpleasant and never satisfied.

The late QEII could not "manage" her grandson Prince Harry and as we know he made several statements between 2020 and 2022 about the respect and love that he had for her. If she could not accomplish this task, then I'm not sure that KCIII would be able to do so either. Overall the  majority of the BRF be they "working royals" or part of the larger extended family, appear to make up a united family who are prepared to support the monarch.

I agree, and additionally, he?s a grown man who is no longer a part of the working RF. I?m not sure what there is to manage. He can?t stop Harry from speaking, and shouldn?t. He buries himself each time he does. His self indulgence has actually had the effect of creating good press for the monarchy because they look better by comparison.

All Charles should do is focus on the work done by the monarchy. He?s trying to get the accounts in order (Frogmore/Royal Lodge) and he?s cutting the fat where he can. I was ready to critique him, but he?s done a pretty good job so far taking over for the Queen?a momentous task.

Reportedly this is the somewhat "confirmed" list for the members of the British Royal Family. At this point in time, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not on the "confirmed list." However  I'm delighted to see that the Duke AND the Duchess of Kent are both on the list.   :high5: I will admit that  I'm a little surprised to not see the spouses for the Earl of Ulster, the Earl of St. Andrews, Lady Rose Gilman, Lady Helen Taylor, and Lord Nicholas Windsor on the list. Typically their spouses have been in attendance at the weddings, memorial services, funerals and Jubilee services. The only  under ten years of age children on the confirmed list are the Wales trio.

Below is the "confirmed list" for foreign royals. There's a much larger number of reigning monarchs on the list than there would have been in the past when traditionally the heirs are the ones who attend so that the newly sworn/crowned monarch is the highest ranking individual. There's one former monarch on the "list," The Netherlands' Princess Beatrix. It seems that Denmark's QMI is going to send the CP Couple in her place. Hooray! It seems that Japan's Emperor AND Empress will be present!!  :high5:

Could I just ask where the source for these ?somewhat confirmed? Coronation guests came from please? BP or media sources? Because really only the Lord Chamberlain?s offices at BP would know the current ?state of play? for any of these royals. AFAIR in 1953 though there was ongoing speculation in the Press about which guests had been invited (though nothing like what it is today in the Internet world) the list was confirmed by BP itself shortly before and until then nothing was certain.

@Curryong, Sorry I forgot to post this in the previous post. It's from The Telegraph. I would say that there's a great deal of "expected to attend" references, hence my use of the quotes around "confirmed."

Thankyou, TLLK. I read somewhere, when the Coronation invitations were discussed a while ago, that guests had been given till the beginning of April to RSVP, so those who haven?t yet responded still have a few days grace, lol!  :hearts:

It is nice to see that the confirmed list includes at least one of Prince Philip's relatives from Germany: The Hereditary Prince of Baden.

As per tradition it appears that POTUS Joe Biden will not attend the coronation of KCIII.  Seventy years ago, then POTUS Dwight Eisenhower also declined to attend the coronation of QEII and sent a delegation instead.

In fact no American President has ever attended a Coronation. It?s not expected of them, given US history. I believe in the early 19th century the son or nephew of one of the Presidents, who was residing in London at the time, did, but that?s another question!

While there may very well be a ?special relationship? between the United States and England, I don?t believe that should extend to celebrating the coronation of a new monarch; lest it be interpreted as deference. I think there?s other ways that both the United States and England have shown their ties to one another.

Having seen an invite to the Coronation, I am sad to report that the dress code for the Coronation is Day Dress/Uniform and not Gala (with White Tie, Gowns and Tiaras) as was expected. However, while the Guests may be in Day Dress, it does not mean that the entire British Royal Family would be wearing Day Dress too. It could be like the State Opening of Parliament, at which the Royal Family and Peers are in full Gala while guests and observers are in Day Dress.

Or so this blog on the Coronation preparations reports. I actually expected some of the guests to be in day dress, though, if this report is accurate it does contradict a report of the other day that Peers have been told to wear their ordinary peerage robes as worn on the days of the Opening of Parliament and not hire the ermine ones. It all sounds a bit muddled at the moment.

why not wait and see.

I?m not waiting to see anything. Like many other Aussies I shall be doing other things rather than watching that ceremony. I?ve got a day of sailing, whether permitting and then a family birthday in the evening. So I?ll probably miss it, something I?ll hardly be crying in my soup over.

I post the blog item because everything about the Coronation is up for discussion in the media at the moment.

so why bother discussing soemthig in which you clearly have no interest, and talking about the Coronation of a king you clearly dislike

I?ve already answered that question in the last line of my previous post when explaining why I posted the blog piece, viz ?Everything about the Coronation is up for discussion in the media at the moment.? End quote.

And if all posters here refrained from posting any discussion about people they dislike, then the Sussex threads for one would be much emptier than they have been for the past three years!

According to this report Tom Bower, who supposedly knows everything within Palace walls has been writing articles stating that he is changing various details that were decided months ago.

And why this Aus journalist above points to the refusal of top line artists to appear at the Coronation Concert as attributable to the Sussexes, when really she must know otherwise is strange. She must know that, as well as clashing schedules being to blame, many younger musicians and other show biz people are actually convinced republicans, who know that their demographic, British people and others under 25 are moving into their camp in ever increasing numbers.

Buckingham Palace confirm that the Queen Consort will be known as Queen Camilla after the coronation (as I wrote would happen back in December). It comes as a new portrait by @Hugofoto is released, as well as the official Coronation invitation

Buckingham Palace has also announced details of the Pages of Honour: #PrinceGeorge, nine, will be carrying his grandfather's robe as one of four pages. The Queen Consort's will be carried by her three male grand-children and great-nephew. All the details here:

Oh I?m almost fainting with the excitement of it all! Whoopy do, lol! And obviously the Edinburgh/Wessexes are out of favour or James would have been a Page. What a shame! Now let?s wait for the tabloids to twist that into an ?Archie snub!?
