This interview seems to have been a nice, light, jokey affair, concentrating on Meghan?s early years as an actress in spite of Angela Levin ranting that Meghan was going to upset the Queen in the appearance. It?s probably enhanced by the fact that the two women have met before on several occasions and the Ellen show will soon finish.

Nice to here a little news about Lili and her teething, not a great part of babyhood really. Both Harry and Meghan seem to be very happy lately. So, Levin, as usual you went off half-cocked about nothing at all. ?Causing dread at the Palace, huh??  As for Morgan why comment on it  at all? Just superfluous!

Nightowl

Just know that with this interview and the one done on Oprah was done to perfection as Meghan I see as the type of person who never does anything half way......what she does is make sure all i's are dotted and all t's are crossed because everything has to be about her and her alone......using people to get what she wants is her game plan for life as we are all seeing.......just my honest opinion of Meghan whatever her last name is!

The Los Angeles Times confirmed that Meghan's appearance is to promote her children's book The Bench.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, appears on 'Ellen' - Los Angeles Times

QuoteFrom Oprah to Ellen: Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, paid an unannounced visit to ?The Ellen DeGeneres Show? this week for an episode that will air Thursday.

The former ?Suits? star told host DeGeneres that it was her first time back on a talk show in about a decade and reminisced about returning to the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank after visiting it several times for auditions as a young actress.

In a sneak peek released late Tuesday, the former British royal told a cute story about her days as a struggling artist who drove a Ford Explorer Sport ? a car that was so old, she had to crawl through the trunk to get into the driver?s seat.

The reason for her appearance on the show isn?t mentioned in the teaser, but the spot comes off as orchestrated for those keeping up with the Sussexes. You?ll recall, the last time Meghan did a major sit-down interview, it was with DeGeneres? pal Oprah Winfrey in the spring and led to a reckoning that Buckingham Palace is still contending with today.Meghan appeared on DeGeneres? show to plug her children?s book, ?The Bench,? The Times has confirmed.

Reps for "The Ellen DeGeneres Show? and the Sussexes did not immediately respond Wednesday to The Times? request for comment.

The L.A.-bred star?s effort to increase her likability comes amid her more serious appearances devoted to advocacy for issues such as paid parental leave for all. But more importantly, it comes in the wake of a legal firestorm across the pond.

The mother of two appeared on DeGeneres? farewell season, which is ending after allegations that the talk show host created a toxic work environment. Meghan has also weathered similar allegations, which came up again recently when her former communications secretary and royal aide, Jason Knauf, provided bombshell testimony during the appeals case stemming from hers and Prince Harry?s breach of privacy and copyright lawsuit. Associated Newspapers Limited, publisher of U.K.'s MailOnline and The Mail on Sunday, is trying to overturn a British court?s February decision that favored the former senior royals. The legal battle took a twist last week when Knauf said he regretted not providing evidence earlier in the case and told the court that he helped Meghan draft a private 2018 letter to her father that was eventually leaked to the press.

Knauf revealed a number of exchanges between him and the duchess that undercut some of her previous testimony. Meghan also had to apologize to the court last week for misleading it about the extent of her cooperation with the authors of a sympathetic book about her and husband, Prince Harry, according to the Associated Press. Her lawyers had previously denied that she or Harry collaborated with authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand on their 2020 book, ?Finding Freedom.?

But Knauf said in evidence to the court that he gave the writers information and discussed it with Harry and Meghan ?multiple times in person and over email.?

Here's a second clip released from today's episode. It's lighthearted chat material about Eugenie, Jack and Harry visiting her in Toronto before H & M's relationship was confirmed and the Sussex family visiting Ellen on around Halloween in their costumes.

I don't even know what to say. This women is a DISASTER. I'm embarrassed for her.

If this "prank" was even suggested on the UK it would be another example of how she was mistreated but she's quite happy to do Ellen's embarrassing bidding!

Humiliate herself for USD USD USD  :hi:

Curryong

I have to say that Ellen isn?t my favourite talk show host by a mile. Nevertheless, it?s a bit of light entertainment, not everything has to be serious and deep. We don?t even know if Meghan was paid to go on the show.

It looked to me like two women who get on well together chatting and having some fun. And I was very glad to see that Archie is a ginger, though different to his dad who was more coppery haired when small. Happy to see that Meghan still actively supports paid maternity leave. And I am sure that the single mum appreciated the gift of 40k from Ellen and Meghan. It will certainly help her pay a few bills.

Love this?

Meghan Markle has revealed a new image of her and her husband Prince Harry 's two-year-old son Archie.

In the image, the little boy is seen feeding chickens in the garden of his parents' $19million home in Montecito, California, whilst wearing jeans, a grey t-shirt and yellow wellies.

The photo was shown to viewers on the Ellen Show on Thursday.

Meghan told DeGeneres that Archie 'loves being a big brother' to her daughter Lili, who was born in June.

The Duchess said: 'Someone told H (Harry) and I that when you have one kid it's a hobby, and two children is parenting.

'Suddenly we realized, "oh right", everyone talks about what it's like for the second child but no-one talks about the adjustment for the first child when the second one comes along.

'I think they have that moment of, 'oh, this is fun, oh, this is how it is now'.'

Curryong

And Meghan speaking about Harry and her bond with Eugenie and Jack.

Speaking about the event in 2016, she told Ellen: 'He came to see me in Toronto and our friends and his cousin Eugenie and now her husband Jack, they came as well, and the four of us snuck out in Halloween costumes to just have one fun night on the town before it was out in the world that we were a couple. It was a post-apocalypse theme, so we had all this very bizarre costuming on, and we were able to just have one fun final night out.'

Ellen's pranks have a unfortunately gained a reputation of being either humiliating or frightening for her guests though anyone who has agreed to be a guest likely realizes this will be part of their appearance. Unfortunately the photos/video of Meghan squatting, drinking out of a baby bottle etc...are now going to be there for a long time.

wannable

The humiliating prank overshadowed everything else MM said.

IMO, cash strapped, I'd prefer to reach out to family, if not available, then adjust my budget to a realistic lifestyle possible rather than do for money Do As I Say/Simon Says Do This. I can't think about it For Free, I'm not a demented person.

I don't find it funny and the grading and degree system of humiliation, so it's great news that this show is doing the pre notice end. I read that A listers are not made to go through what MM agreed. Basically, the only person I respect is Dakota Johnson that without scheming, being a honest to God person with no burden in her back so to speak (burden of not being yourself carries alot of weight)  put Ellen in her place.

TLLK

To be fair Meghan is not the first member of a royal family that has been requested to do something strange or bizarre ie: Anne, Andrew, Edward, Sarah in  "It's a Royal Knockout."  Other examples include Prince William being asked to "gallop" at the Royal Variety Show by a young cast member from "Annie" or the entire Dutch Royal Family participating in the annual Queen/King's Day crazy activities. However I have to wonder if both of the Sussexes might be find themselves now being "typecast" for these types of skits/pranks in order to remain financially independent? I'm hoping that this is a one time activity for them both.

wannable

That's a 2 second, be a good sport for charity with the head comedian of yearly/Royal Variety Charity! It's not a by contract you will do a 8 minute prank for free: attention and TV time or Money: Personal gain. Yes the couple have to make their living, I simply stated IMO, I really can't or wouldn't.

That was truly bizarre.  Not funny.  Just strange.

It?s very typical of the jokes Ellen likes to play on her guests. Not a great fan of Ellen or her humour at the best of times but it?s not as if this sort of formula isn?t par for the course for her. On one episode she had Michelle Obama trundle her around a supermarket in a shopping trolley.

PrincessOfPeace

I'm note sure the shopping cart incident helps Meghan.

Quit the Royal Family and go off and do you're own thing. But to be introduced as 'the Duchess of Sussex' and then proceed to drink milk out of a baby bottle, is embarrassing and cringeworthy.

We're into Fergie territory here.

Macrobug67

I think it?s beyond that.  Fergie is kooky.  And lacks judgement.  But always authentic to herself

Meghan is calculated.  And her actions do not ring true.

There is a reason why I don?t watch Ellen or Oprah.  I don?t find this funny or entertaining.  And I don?t think Meghan did herself any favours.  She had every opportunity to say no and do something more intelligent and dignified.

And the old chestnut rings true.  Just because the others jump off the bridge.

BBC delays podcast on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after related documentary draws 925 complaints. The podcast, about 'Harry, Meghan and the media', examines the provocative themes of 'sexism, racism and strategic leaks'.

https://archive.vn/taUCg

- The Telegraph

TLLK

From the archieved article that @PrincessOfPeace shared. I am curious as to what was the  "more controversial material" that was to be shared in the now indefinitely delayed podcast? If the BBC received 925 complaints, I wonder if the company had viewers writing in with praise for it?

Quote
The BBC has delayed indefinitely a controversial podcast about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that was due to air two weeks ago, after its accompanying television series received nearly 1,000 complaints.
The BBC was intending to broadcast a podcast series about ?Harry, Meghan and the media?, including provocative themes of ?sexism, racism and strategic leaks?.
Compiled from more than 80 hours of interviews with members of the press who wrote about them, the corporation said it set out to examine: ?Why did the coverage of Meghan Markle turn so sour, so quickly??
The podcast was supposed to air on the same day as the second instalment of the two-part television series Princes and the Press, on Monday, November 29, but was delayed on the day.

Two weeks later, the BBC said it was ?still in production? and that it would be released as a box set only on an unconfirmed date ?when it?s ready?.
The corporation has received 925 complaints about the television series so far, from viewers ?who believe the programme was disrespectful to the Royal Family and therefore should not have been broadcast?.
The Royal Households have also objected to the show, issuing a rare joint statement to condemn it for giving credibility to "overblown and unfounded claims" about the family.
Aides were particularly frustrated about what they perceived was a lack of proper ?right of reply? to allegations in the programme, with the BBC refusing to give details about what the claims were and who was making them.

The claims within it, including those about briefings between rival palaces, were examined closely by lawyers, with the Duchess of Sussex's solicitor appearing on camera to deny allegations of her bullying behaviour.
The corporation has insisted it did approach the palace, and included a statement from it at the end of the show.
The podcast was expected to include far more controversial material.
Presented by Amol Rajan, it promises: ?Allegations of sexism, racism and strategic leaks ? we examine them all.?
It covers the claims of the Duke and Duchess that ?sexism and racism in the media coverage? played a role in them stepping down from official duties to pursue financial freedom in California, and the couple?s various legal cases against the press.
