Princess Sofia to continue working in healthcare in the autumn ? Royal Central

QuoteSweden?s Princess Sofia is to continue working in healthcare through the autumn, the Royal Court has confirmed.

The 35-year-old Princess began helping at Sophiahemmet hospital in Stockholm after undergoing training at Sophiahemmet University in an effort to help out during the ongoing pandemic. She helps with cleaning and does shifts in the kitchen.

The Royal Court?s Head of Information, Margareta Thorgren, confirmed to Expressen that Sofia would continue this work in the autumn. She said: ?Princess Sofia continues her work at Sophiahemmet and will start her part-time job again in September. She is very much looking forward to it.?

Prince Carl Philip will be undertaking royal duties.

Princess Sofia is the Honorary Chair of Sophiahemmet and has called her work there during the pandemic ?extremely rewarding.?

Curryong

I think Sofia has settled in and is doing a terrific job. It's good too that it's rewarding to her.

Blue Clover

I think its great that she found a calling in healthcare through the pandemic. Great service to others.

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden have tested positive for #Covid19 and are showing mild symptoms, the royal court has announced. King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel will now be tested.

I hope that both will have a swift recovery and that the rest of the family did not contract the virus. Three of them CG, Silvia and Daniel are in the category of those with age related or  pre existing conditions.

Sofia has been working regular shifts as a ward assistant in a big Stockholm hospital for months. Hope she didn't catch it in the course of her work.

The usual questionnaire of where have you been, who have you seen, etc. universal by the WHO, it works for stats during and historical (I have a nurse friend also attending my elderly neighbor, I cook/clean and am starting to walk her around the block, she checks her vital signs, eyes, ears, throat, etc. that questionnaire has been filled out twice now for the above 70 who may catch it easier).

Most likely caught it at the hospital.

I have to wonder if this was the source. I am sure that they'll do a contact trace.

Amabel2

I should say it is much  more likey that she caught in during her hosptial work than anywhere else.  It seems like she has stuck to her hospital job for a few months now which is admirable of her...

Yes, emergency cases out of covid19 symptoms are being treated on assessment and individual basis.  All countries health departments have emphasized this and a list of cancelled treatments, i.e. cancer patients, although some have resumed since September. Also most countries but not all are saying if you feel you have covid19 symptoms, their health ministry is organized such a way that they send covid specialists to your home, to see if patient is positive and sent to hospital.

The above is due to the fact that hospitals have a high percentage of catching it, many doctors and nurses have either caught it, cured or died.

Laudable and I'm sure the Royal family as other royal families are and haven't seen each other since the pandemic warnings.

I like the red amaryillises on the fireplace mantel. I like Prince Oscars's outfit. The video is fabulous.

Royal Court issues update on health of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia ? Royal Central

QuoteLast week Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia both tested positive for Covid-19. In a statement, the Swedish Royal Family said that the prince and princess only have mild flu like symptoms, and that they are doing well in the circumstances. They were immediately quarantined at their home with their two children.

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are now trying to recover from coronavirus at their home at Villa Solbacken. On Tuesday this week the Royal Court gave a further update on their health. The Swedish magazine ?Svensk Damtidning? was in contact with the Royal Court?s information manager who answered with the following short statement: ?The prince and princess are fine under the circumstances.?

Curryong

Carl Philip and Sofia probably feel lousy, quite feverish and under the weather, though they are young(ish) and quite fit which will help. I hope they recover soon. I have a lot of time for Sofia who kept to her ward help job for months, something you rarely see outside of war with female royals.

*We are happy and expectant and look forward to welcoming our third child, a sibling to Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel. A new little member of our family,* said Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia. Princess Sofia is well and the birth is expected at the turn of the month March-April 2021

Congratulations to the couple on the prospective third baby, perhaps a little girl this time! Like Mike and Zara Tindall they perhaps would like a child of the opposite sex to its siblings.

Quite a few pregnancies occurring throughout this pandemic. And, speaking of that, I hope that Sofia, who contracted the Coronavirus strain during her first trimester, will have a healthy baby with no complications.

Due April 2021 but dont say date till confirmation from palace and King Carl Custav also but remember underwraps names till after birth announcement kept zipit 🤐🤫

Why isn't anyone here supposed to discuss the date of the birth of Sofia and Carl Philip's baby? That's ridiculous, it's not a State secret! Sofia is about four and a half months along in her pregnancy and so of course it's likely to be a late April birth. And for all we know Zara may be expecting her baby at about the same time. With her history of miscarriages the couple may well have delayed the announcement.

I expect a fairly trendy non Scandinavian  name to be used for the Swedish Royal baby, something like Daisy or Ivy perhaps. A similar thing if their baby's a boy, perhaps Christopher or something like that.

It's not got anything to do with keeping things 'under wraps' like something out of the Middle Ages. We don't know whether either couple has revealed any gender knowledge to either close friends or family members. Like all other couples in the world no doubt both couples have discussed names for either sex with relatives and friends.

Most people in public life, not just royals, rely on close friends not to blab to the media about casual discussions and the vast majority don't. However, to believe that anybody in the public eye, whether they are the children or the grandchildren of monarchs, sit still and silent like graven images when the subject of their coming child is raised in private by friends and/or family is just ridiculous.

And I don't know about Carl Philip and Sofia, but the idea that Mike Tindall (who isn't Royal) wouldn't say something about this forthcoming baby or its gender to his mates because the Head of State wants it kept under wraps until there's an official announcement, is just plain wrong. Mike has said plenty in public about his wife, her pregnancies (including her discomfort due to the need for a toilet during Harry and Meghan's wedding when she was heavily pregnant) various members of the Royal Family and his children.

The Tindalls never announced the names of their daughters until their christenings because they aren't Royal and they figured it was nobody's business but theirs as private people. It certainly wasn't because the Queen was insisting on no information until the baptisms. She never interferes with her grandchildren's arrangements in that way.

If you have any viable evidence that the Queen insists on a ban of any sort with regard to the disclosure of gender or names on those not in the direct line of succession I'd like to see it.

Mike and Zara wanted kept private names for their girls till birth but Zara?s grandmother wanted know gender reveal, birth weight and mores out of respectively for Mike and Zara on their kids birth out of spotlight but Zara always kept private person she is granddaughter of HM Queen who she is but Zara?s kids will not be in HRH NO! But baby will be in 22 throne behind

King Carl Gustav will makes announcement names on his grandchildren after birth must have nod first from King

Well, of course out of courtesy Mike would have rang all members of his and Zara's family after each birth and told them whether it was a boy or girl, weight, who they looked looked like and perhaps a name. Most dads do. His and her parents would have been informed, siblings on both sides, any grandparents, uncles, aunts, close cousins etc. That's what happens in almost every family regardless of who they are. The Queen being the monarch wouldn't have been treated any differently than thousands of other grandmothers being told via phone or what'sUp of the birth of great-grandchildren.

Brian McFadden tells TV programme Loose Women that he and his SO were given advice about IVF after their miscarriage by Zara and Mike and there was a later pregnancy. Mike doesn't mind talking about anything. After all, this latest Tindall pregnancy wasn't revealed by Heralds and trumpeters at BP. Mike revealed it in a podcast!
