Princess Estelle joins her grandfather and mother to open new Slussbron ? Royal Central

On Sunday, Princess Estelle joined her grandfather, King Carl XVI Gustaf and mother, Crown Princess Victoria, at the inauguration of the new Slussbron in Stockholm. The new bridge connects the areas of Stadsholmen and S?dermalm in the capital.

The Slussbron is part of a larger redevelopment project in the city. The bridge itself is the largest single component in the traffic area. The entire project is expected to be completed by 2025.

Crown Princess Victoria puts focus on sustainable tourism ? Royal Central We had the opportunity to visit Stockholm on our Baltic cruise in summer 2018. Honestly, while I was thrilled to see the recovered and preserved 18th century ship The Vasa and the sites, it was one of my least favorite stops due to the incredibly high number of tour groups that crowd the city's shoreline. With so many people (like my family) choosing to cruise, it can be very overwhelming. We always try to get away from the groups to do our own thing, but sometimes it's impossible.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden has attended the EU project DUNC?s digital conference. From her home-office at Haga castle Her Royal Highness gave a speech and closely followed the final day of this conference.

Development of UNESCO Natural and Cultural Assets, also known as DUNC, is an EU-funded collaborative project where the Swedish municipality of Karlskrona municipality has been essential. For three years, the project has worked to increase the commitment to sustainable tourism, as well as strengthen the local business community, at four world heritage sites around the southern part of the Baltic Sea.

In her message for the final day of the conference on January 26th, Her Royal Highness said: ?As an alumni ambassador for the Sustainable Development Goals, the future of the ocean, and the Baltic Sea in particular, is a topic very close to my heart. I believe the DUNC project is a great example of how we can come together, around the Baltic, to address the challenges we have in common. And I look very much forward to hearing more about the achievements that have been made over the past three years.?

In January 2016, the Crown Princess was appointed by the then UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as one of 17 ambassadors for work on the UN?s global sustainability goals. The ambassadors? task is to promote in various ways the UN?s goals for sustainable development, Agenda 2030. From 2019, the Crown Princess has been included in the alumni group. As an alumni, the Crown Princess continues to focus in particular on sustainability, maritime and fisheries issues.

The royals in Denmark and Norway have also been deeply involved in sustainable development. In October last year, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark attended the World Hour in Copenhagen, an event that teaches young people about the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Crown Prince Haakon has for many years been a goodwill ambassador for the UN Development Program UNDP.

Princess Sofia attends digital graduation ceremony for Sophiahemmet University ? Royal Central

Sweden?s Princess Sofia attended the digital graduation ceremony for Sophiahemmet University on Friday, 5 February. The heavily pregnant Princess delivered remarks to congratulate the graduates during the online ceremony.

The ceremony is usually held at Stockholm?s City Hall in the Blue Hall but the current health crisis made that impossible this year.

Princess Sofia spoke about the symbolism in the uniform of Sophiahemmet ? a white hat and black dress with lace. The white represents the light in life while the black symbolises life?s seriousness. The lace represents the joy in life.

?The light in life may symbolise the important effort you make and the opportunity for trust and security that you will give so many people. The seriousness of life may symbolise the tragedy and sorrow and sometimes frustration you will face.

?And then the joy of life ? which is probably one of the reasons why you have spent years of your life on this particular education. To be able to be of service and help, to be able to contribute and to be part of society?s most important functions,? she said.

Her Royal Highness went on to add: ?During your professional life you will meet people at all stages of life. You will be in situations of deepest sorrow and greatest joy. You will meet people who are both strong and fragile ? sometimes, both at the same time.

Earlier this week, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden opened the Stockholm Fashion week from her home at Haga Palace. The digital fashion week kicked off on Tuesday, 9 February and went through Wednesday, 11 February.

The Crown Princess spoke about sustainability and diversity during her video remarks that she delivered in English.

Her Royal Highness spoke of how Swedish fashion brands have ?taken the lead in changing their industry? because Swedish fashion has a strategy for environmental sustainability. She also shared her hopes for the fashion industry, which included a fashion industry for all sizes and one that ?that liberates rather than limits.?

The future monarch went on to speak about being inclusive and how diversity drives innovation.

Crown Princess Victoria receives award for support of LGBTQ community ? Royal Central

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden has been given an award for her support of the LGBTQ community. The Crown Princess was selected as one of the winners of 2021?s ?Gay Gala? due to her speech at the Stockholm Pride Event last year.

QX was invited into Victoria?s Haga Palace home for a photoshoot and to speak to her about her honour as the GAYGALA-2021 Hetero of the Year.

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia step in for ill Crown Princess Couple ? Royal Central

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden stepped in for the COVID positive Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel last night at the memorial service for the coronavirus victims.

The memorial service, initiated by King Carl XVI Gustaf, was held at the Royal Chapel of Drottningholm Palace with the King, Queen Silvia, Princess Christina and Tord Magnuson joining the Prince Couple. The ceremony was organised to honour those who died from the virus and took place on the first anniversary of the first death from COVID-19 in Sweden.

The King read from Psalm 139 while his sister, Princess Christina, and Prince Carl Philip read prayers and lit candles. The King, Queen, Tord Magnuson ? the husband of Princess Christina ? and Princess Sofia also lit candles in memory of the victims.

Queen Silvia of Sweden has inaugurated the Allergy Lift conference with a digital speech. This was the first event that the Queen performed on her own since an accident at Drottningholm Castle where she fell and broke a bone in her arm. The digital conference Allergilyftet is organized by the Asthma and Allergy Association, of which the Queen is the patron.

Queen Silvia participated digitally by giving a speech in the symposium *Faith and Flourishing: Strategies for Preventing and Healing Child Sexual Abuse*.

The purpose of the symposium organized by Harvard University was to develop strategies for preventing sexual abuse of children and providing support to the vulnerable.

The symposium was attended by leaders, experts, academics and representatives of child rights and public health organizations, among others.

Princess Madeline as Patron of "My Big Day" helped to host a virtual palace visit with "King Gustav III and Queen Sofia Magdalena" dressed in period appropriate 18th century costume. In the past Princess Madeline, dressed in a ball gown with tiara and orders,  has hosted a tea party at the palace for her guests. However this year required the visit to be virtual.
