Not an engagement, but a good news (one person saved from unemployment), 1 of the 15 Sussex Buckingham Palace staffers who were made redundant this past 31st March has been hired by the Cambridge's Kensington Palace.

David Watkins, Digital Communications leads (same title previously worked for the Sussex's, the fancy word may be replaced as Social Media tools used by the S's now will do the same for the C's)

Excellent news that another one of the Sussexes' former team members has been hired by one of the other households.

This is one of the reason I so admire William and Catherine, they might not be perfect in everyone's eyes yet they still find ways to do the job regardless of what is going on in the world. They are making sure that the people know that the royal family as a whole are working for the people and that they are doing everything possible to support them in this time of need.  This is showing the people what a future king and queen William and Catherine are about, for the people, being there, doing the job for the royal family.

and they manage to do it without too much promoting themselves.  Their video chat with children was on TV yesterday... they are dong the best they can in difficult times...

Like many of their counterparts in Europe (and I presume those in the ME and Asia), the British royal family members are not only meeting with their charities and patronages but they're reaching out to speak via video calls with the elderly shut ins, school children, the disabled and others. Reigning monarchs are staying in contact with government officials in a similar manner and nearly all have made some sort of national address. A couple of royals are still making public visits depending on the situation in their own nation.

Not an engagement pee se but still important news

QuoteToday, Wednesday 15 April, Sebastian Shakespeare of the Daily Mail has revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have teamed up with a string of wealthy benefactors to help charities who are supporting those leading the fight against the coronavirus.

Shakespeare reports that William and Kate have been approached in recent weeks by a series of donors, who have offered funds to the pair?s Royal Foundation, which will hand out grants to the most worthy causes.

A source tells Shakespeare: ?Under William and Kate?s direction, the foundation has spent the past two weeks speaking to charities and groups who support emergency service workers. They?re working with a number of donors who have offered support. William and Kate are keen to ensure it goes to the services who really need it most.?

Remember the first few years of the Ark Foundation (super wealthy donors) that carried out once a year dinner gala auctioning the best of the best materialist enjoyments (from trips to adventure like non hot spots, to paintings, to valuable items), all for the DOC's foundation (Harry's charities also benefactors then).  This one night 5 hour event would net between 15 to 12 Million yearly.

So, the above is reasonable, due to the circumstances that these wealthy donors can't organize/attend a black tie dinner.

Of course Tatler knows. Quintessential British of the highest money who is who, usually it's a rich list of donors that don't like to flaunt nor use SM.

You are so knowledgeable! It's amazing that such wealth exists, and I acknowledge that many of the wealthiest are generous.

IMO I am glad the 3 households are temporarily for who knows how much time, reinventing themselves to fundraise, make people feel better via positive humble messages.

I think all the 3 households will need to zoom conference and produce ideas, test those ideas quietly, etc. because I honestly think this will take a long time. Beware for a second bug.

Congratulations to Capt. Tom Moore on his fundraising campaign!! :notworthy:

^ Thank you for sharing, it was a BBC breakfast special today, William and Kate also sent a message to 99 year old Captain Tom, and was live shown to him, he called William my Super Prince. Tom's just giving has hit the GBP 15 million. Fantastic.

They also spoke about homeschooling and are very worried of The Queen and Prince Charles, because of the Covid19 and the isolation length, the extension and very likely that people will be mandated to wear a face mask when out and about at least until 2022.

The Covid19, experts are learning new things daily, if not weekly.

Coronavirus: Royal couple say lockdown 'stressful' on mental health - BBC News

QuoteDuring the interview, the duke and duchess also praised NHS workers and said they were making the nation proud with their "stoicism and determination" to get through the pandemic.

But Prince William said some staff were understandably anxious and it was important not to alienate those who "worry" and "are scared going to work every single day".

He said NHS workers often have to absorb the pain and loneliness of coronavirus patients and "take it home to their families".

"We're not superhuman, any of us. So to be able to manage those emotions and that feeling is going to take some time after all this is over as well."

It's difficult enough for healthcare workers when patients die, I can't imagine what it feels like now with a higher rate of deaths occurring. Every patient that recovers and is able to leave is a huge victory.

I keep hoping it will fade soon as I think of those who live alone and have no conveniences. Where I live the whole outdoors is open to me, and I spend a lot of time outdoors. Plus, I am not alone and live comfortably. Therefore I have no excuse to complain that I can't see the kids. I feel so bad for those who are anxious and depressed. May it be over soon for their sake.

More on the Cambridges' new mental health charity which will coordinate with other charities.

Kate Middleton & Prince William Reveal Plans for Announce Their ?Top Priority for the Months Ahead?

QuotePrince William and Kate are throwing their weight behind a new mental health platform providing round-the-clock support to those working on the coronavirus frontlines. The Duke of Cambridge said in a statement that supporting the platform, which is called Our Frontline, will be the couple?s ?top priority for the months ahead.?

William and Kate?s royal foundation is formally backing the service, which is a collaboration between charities Mind, Samaritans, Shout, and Hospice UK. It provides a combination of 1-to-1 support and online resources for NHS workers, carers, the Blue Light emergency services, and key workers whose mental health may be under pressure at this time.

?Over the past few weeks, millions of frontline workers across the UK have put their physical and mental health on the line to protect us all during the Coronavirus pandemic,? William said in a statement as the platform is launched.

?Every day they confront traumatic situations at the same time as having to contend with their own worries about the risks to themselves and their families. That takes a real toll, and as I?ve seen for myself through my work with the Air Ambulance, without the right support at the right time the challenges they face will only be greater. Catherine and I, together with The Royal Foundation, will do all we can to support Our Frontline. This work will be our top priority for the months ahead.?

  Well done, kudos to W&K and their KP team to get all their Mental Health charities, organizations, etc. to work and collaborate together in this crisis.

I agree @wannable that it's better than starting a new charity now especially since IMHO so many are going to struggle in the wake of Coronavirus.
