And IMHO has done much good with his title and income.

Leaving out the 1981 tour he took with his new bride Diana (DM).

One would have thought that among the 'many visits to Wales over the years' there might have been an acknowledgement of some kind by the media as well as CH of an extremely successful tour of Wales that was undertaken by a married couple in 1981. Diana was Princess of Wales for fifteen of those years mentioned and a very much loved one in the Principality as well. She brought huge crowds out in 1981 and every time afterwards.

But no, mustn't rain on Charles's parade. Just lets everybody pretend that Diana never happened.

Has Prince Charles done a painting of any castle or landscape in Wales?

The couple are in Swansea today celebrating that city's 50th anniversary.

QuoteTo mark the 50th anniversary of Swansea's City status, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall are attending a celebration in Swansea's Victoria Park. #Swansea50 The City status was granted in 1969 following HRH's Investiture as Prince of Wales.

Princess Cassandra

The media comments keep referring to the visit as a 50-year anniversary visit, but in fact they tour Wales every year during this week. This is their annual visit, and it happens to be the anniversary, also.

Princess Cassandra

Although, the Duchess doesn't really like overseas travel. It's great that she can manage to have fun in spite of t hat.

The bells at Westminster Abbey ring today for Duchess Camilla?s birthday!
Philip, Camilla & Kate are the only spouses who get bells for their birthday, since they are the spouses of the monarch/future monarch.

Camilla wore an ill matching outfit for  her birthday and the skirt looked like a petticoat. The cake I think was rather odd and not a typical birthday cake.

That is not a new outfit for her. I like the skirt and it is not everyone who can wear a pleated white skirt! The jacket looks like a nice linen but I guess I would choose more of a wheat or muted blue than a tan with her coloring. Otherwise I think she looked great. The cake was not for her birthday, though she got to cut it because it AS her birthday. The cake was to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the National Parks, which is why it looks so odd. They just happened to be there on her birthday.

It does not look pleated it seems to be wrinkled so it looks like a petticoat. The color combination does not mesh either IMO

It is pleated. She's worn the outfit a few times and I've never liked the color of the jacket with her coloring. Seen from the side or the back the jacket looks comfortable and is a very nice fit, but as I said above I'd choose a different color. Perhaps even in a navy blue or red. I have always liked the skirt.

TLLK

@Princess Cassandra- Agree that it's a pleated skirt and a blue or red jacket would be a good pairing.

Curryong

A navy blue jacket would look too much like a uniform IMO, especially as the skirt is pleated, but a torquoise or sky blue would look nice I think. Or even green.
