Princess Cassandra

Wow, that is an excruciating amount of flying for such a short visit, but I suppose he has other commitments that couldn't be cancelled. On another note, I hope Catherine will post a picture or two for the little Prince's birthday the way she did for Charlotte's.

We will probably receive a few pictures!

That is quite a looong trip from London/Auckland.   It's 4:30 a.m. NZT, so William and entourage should be arriving quite soon since they flew out of UK.

Apparently the service will be at 11:00 a.m. NZT

I hope it's more than a few pictures - I would like to see videos of the service.  What a fast trip it will be.

The Duke of Cambridge has shared a touching moment with a five-year-old survivor of the Christchurch terror attacks on two mosques.

Prince William was at Starship Children?s Hospital in Auckland where he met Alen Alsati and her father, Wasseim. Alen had only recently awoken from a coma; she had suffered severe injuries in the March attack.

The little girl lies in the hospital bed and asks the Prince, ?Do you have a daughter??

William, sitting on the side of her bed, replies, ?Do I have a daughter? Yeah. She?s called Charlotte.?

Alen then questions, ?What?s her name??

And the Duke says sweetly, ?Charlotte. She?s about the same age as you.?

Glad to see that this little one has awoken from her coma. I don't know if it was from the trauma or a medically induced one to aid in her recovery, but at least her parents can know that she is awake again.

Wow. A very moving, sincere speech. Not just words.

Prince William is doing a great job on this tour.

Opinion piece on the royal tradition of a morale boosting trip. These types of trips take place domestically and abroad with nearly ever royal family participating in them. Sadly it appears that some years see more of these than others.

QuoteThe beauty of a politically neutral Royal Family is the lack of political agenda when it comes to comforting those who have lost so much.

Fifty people died and 50 others were wounded during the terrorist attack in Christchurch. William couldn?t end the suffering nor could he eradicate the grief, but his visit highlighted to those he met that the world sees them, the world hears them and they are not alone.

One hopes his trip helped lift the oppressive cloud of despair, even if only for a moment.

A small weekend DM (Charlotte Wace, junior reporter to Rebecca English) note of a possible Asian Tour for the DOC's.  If true, the next couple of weeks will have the senior RR's reporting.

Quote
Duke and Duchess of Cambridge set for major tour of Asia
THE Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will travel to Asia this autumn for a major official tour.
It is understood the trip will focus on Commonwealth countries, meaning destinations might include Bangladesh, India, Malaysia and Singapore.
Sources believe there is a good chance of a visit to Sri Lanka, where a terror attack on Easter Sunday left at least 258 people dead, but less likelihood of a stop in Brunei, which has attracted criticism for its human rights record. It is believed China was considered but was ruled out.
Fuller details of the tour, which will be weeks apart from a visit by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Africa, will be announced in the coming weeks. Kensington Palace declined to comment.

Princess Cassandra

This makes incredible sense, as it spreads major trips out and it's been a while for them.  This time I'm sure they will leave their children, who will be in school, at home.

Opinion piece on William's trip to NZ at the end of April 2019 and his future as a monarch.

Power Prince - The Rumble, Opinionated, Movies, Entertainment, Politics and much more...

QuoteEvery-so-often we are reminded of the powerful influence our Royal Family has. From charity work, global events, patronages, to the influential fashion choices. But they also, in times of deep pain and suffering, highlight how an ancient institution can heal wounds.

And once again we saw this process in action after the devastating terror attack in New Zealand. Attending on behalf of the Queen, Prince William highlighted how the Royals can be a force of good, unity and poignant respect. Something the Duke of Cambridge exemplified as he visited the Christchurch community.

It is worth noting that this isn?t the first time William has been entrusted with such a public and important visit as this one. Last year the Prince took on the historic trip to Israel, becoming the first Royal to do so within an official capacity. It was a monumental success, for both the Royals and Prince William.

So, it wasn?t surprising to royal watchers when Kensington Palace announced that William would be representing the Queen in commemorating, both Anzac Day and the horrific terror attacks in Christchurch.

With these trips now a common occurrence in the Duke?s role as ambassador for the Royal Family, what does it tell us about the future of the British Monarchy and their vision for the indelible institution on both the national and international stage?

In recent years many have noted a change in the Duke of Cambridge. Behind-the-scenes courtiers have observed that he has finally accepted the reality of his future. That future, which leads to the ?top job?, is looking more and more like a perfect fit for William, as visits like New Zealand become more commonplace.

But whilst the royal side of the Duke of Cambridge is pivotal in visits like this, as we saw in his solemnity at the service to commemorate Anzac Day, it is the other side of the Duke which sets him apart.

Images and video footage quickly emerged across media outlets, as well as Kensington Palace?s Instagram and Twitter accounts. Each one showed a Prince perfectly balancing the art of compassion and stoicism with the utmost ease. Whether it be meeting the First Responders to the attack, the Prime Minister of New Zealand ? Jacinda Ardern, or Alen Alsati, a 5-year-old girl injured in the attack, who had only woken from a coma a week before, William?s reaction was befitting of each circumstance.

Yes this is part of the reason that I believe that the  tour was scheduled for the fall. This gives them some time to see how Charlotte adjusts to St. Thomas and Louis will be a little older by then too. I believe that for longer trips that Catherine's parents typically come and stay with the children and lend a hand to Maria and other staff for child care.

Royal news: Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle's autumn tours revealed | HELLO!

Princess Cassandra

So, Archie will probably be close to the same age that William and George were when they travelled to Australia. Hopefully he won't be teething, because that is a great age. They can sit and be friendly but not mobile enough to make their parents crazy!

And that makes it much easier for the Cambridge's to be away. Who could concentrate on engagements if worried about how the children are faring? I know I couldn't.

Prince Louis will be 24/7 with Nanny Maria.  I believe Carole Middleton will be doing the school runs together with the RPO's from KP/St. Thomas Battersea/KP for Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

My guess is the couple will be travelling 2 weeks, including the October 22 Enthronement in Japan (IF included in the tour schedule). And they will be back before this half term holiday published in the official website of the school.

This will allow William and Kate to be with their children back home.
