Death of Princess Alexandra's Lady-in-Waiting

_. Lady Herries of Terregles, DCVO, Lady-in-Waiting to HRH Princess Alexandra the Hon Lady Ogilvy since 1964, has died aged 76.

She was Lady Mary Katherine Fitzalan Howard, second daughter of the 16th Duke of Norfolk, KG, GCVO, GBE, and of Lavinia, Duchess of Norfolk, LG, and married in 1986, Group Capt Anthony Mumford, CVO, OBE.

She was appointed CVO in 1982, and advanced to DCVO in 1995.

Lady Mary succeeded her elder sister, Lady Anne, as 15th holder of the Scottish peerage, in 2014. She leaves no offspring.

The peerage now passes to her younger sister, the Marchioness of Lothian, 72.
