A lot of anticipation is made on the arrival of the bride. However, do not forget the groom: Jack Brooksbank.

Yes, I'll be looking forward to viewing this doco and listening to all the little asides about family life from his sons. PR exercise or not, and I suspect much of this recent concentration on Charles's 70th is, it was decent of him to take Meghan from the Quire to the altar on her wedding day and I'm sure both bride and groom appreciated it.

I have never understood why he was asked to do it.  if Meghan is so indepednet, why did she need anyone to escort her?  if she could walk half way, why not the whole way

Funny how a reporter who went into the Chapel early on the morning of the wedding commented on the beautiful smell of fresh flowers that filled the area. So did many of the guests. In fact one mentioned it on his show.

So which is it? That the Chapel smelt wonderful or it was so musty in spite of being filled with flowers that Meghan demanded air fresheners, therefore building on the DM's new narrative of 'dictatorial Bridezilla Meghan' being put in her place by Royal officials? I know which one I'm going for, considering that many of the guests mentioned the beautiful scent months before the Fail trawled this bit of dirt, supposedly from a BP staffer.

And here is the REAL story of how St George's was scented (apart from the fresh flowers) for the wedding in May. And the article states that the same brand of candles was used for the Cambridge wedding as well.

The Best Royal Jewels of 2018: #5 (Meghan's Wedding Jewels) | The Court Jeweller

Coming in at #5 on the Court Jeweller's list of the best jewels of 2018, are Meghan's wedding jewels. Really appreciate that another rarely seen tiara was used for the Sussexes' May 2018 wedding! :Jen:

Look at the ages of some of these people in the article. 'Grew up with Prince Harry at Kensington Palace' what, at 37 and 40 years of age for Lady Gabriella Windsor and Lord Freddie, while Harry was 33 at the time of his wedding? Quite a gap in childhood and it wasn't as if Princess Michael of Kent was besties with Diana, meaning they were always popping out of each other's homes at KP. Far from it! And as for the Gloucester children being left out Davina is also forty (same age gap) and when were Charles and/or Diana ever seen socialising with the Gloucester family? Trooping and maybe the Xmas lunch (which I believe was held at Windsor in those days) is probably the only time these families ever saw each other.

More pertinently, why is the Fail dragging this one out of the vaults nine months after the wedding? Hoping for more narrative building  on the Sussexes being 'isolated' or 'quarrelling' with the whole Royal family perhaps, as the 'leaks' (so profitable for them) appear to have stopped for the time being.

It's a wonder they don't point to the tabloids' version of the BRF's current 'wicked witch of the West', Meghan, as a cause of these people not being invited, instead of Harry, who probably saw them once in a blue moon, deciding they weren't necessary.

Agreed @Curryong. BTW what is the "update" to the article that was released during May 2018. AFAIK every bit of it was written for the original release.

Also, only Lady Rose Windsor, Lady Gabriella and Lord Frederik Windsor are the only ones closest in age and truly the only ones who "grew up" William and Harry. The Gloucesters' older children are about ten and eight years older than Harry, so they really wouldn't have been his playmates.

The children of Princess Margaret and the Duke/Duchess of Kent are from Prince Andrew and Prince Edward's generation. I can see why they would have been  invited to Princess Eugenie's wedding.

I'm surprised that the DM re-released this article. Couldn't they have written another article about Meghan's day time wardrobe? <_<

In Majesty Magazine Jess Cartner-Morley, writing in the Guardian,  called Meghan's wedding dress 'a long, cool glass of water' of a dress.

Argg argh....I really dislike the millennial 'talk' of almost or about to be 40 year old journalists trying to be 'In'.

Depending on the context...it could mean something good or bad.

Dan wrote a 2 piece article, hence the link...similar style to Sebastian Shakespeare and Richard Eden.  Or Page Six of the NYT.

But, I do hope Harry has his old friends in good stead.

This is great IMO. The Welsh Assembly, as a wedding present to Harry and Meghan, donated ?1,500 to a Welsh charity, Life for African Mothers, which is using the money to send a Welsh midwife to Liberia to help train 15 local midwives.

Great to see that the midwives in Liberia will receive training on methods to help with safe deliveries for mother and child

After a good bit of clean up, this thread is now open if anyone would like to discuss the Sussexes' 2018 wedding. The couple will celebrate their fifth anniversary this year.

Curryong

Yes, five long years this year! What I most remember about the wedding is the glorious weather, couldn?t have wished for better, the wonderful reaction of the Mulroney twin pageboys at the trumpets blast as they entered St George?s carrying Meghan?s veil, and the choir singing ?Stand By Me?. Wonderful! Also that carriage ride around Windsor and the long journey past cheering crowds on the Long Walk. The fact that bride and groom could scarcely take their eyes off each other throughout the service was memorable. As Bishop Curry stated in his book ?They were truly in love? and they really were, and still are.

And if you've forgotten any details of that day... :hearts:

The royal tailor who saved the day for six little girls by reworking the bridesmaid's dresses!   :yesss:

Meghan Markle's Tailor on Royal Bridesmaid Dress Disagreement

QuoteMirpuri tells the publication in the interview that he did end up altering all six short-sleeve white dresses with full skirts for the younger bridesmaids, including Princess Charlotte?s gown. Due to the tight turnaround time, the tailor explains that the process included many long days and nights. ?We had to work tooth and nail for four days, four of us working until 4 a.m. three nights in a row, to make them fit," he remembers. "We left Windsor Castle at 10 p.m. the night before the wedding. Did anyone on the day complain about the bridesmaids' dresses and how they looked? The answer is no.? In addition to Princess Charlotte, Florence van Custom and Zalie Warren (Harry?s goddaughters), Rylan and Remi Litt (Meghan?s goddaughters), and Ivy Mulroney (the daughter of Meghan?s friend) all stood by the bride?s side while she said ?I do? in 2018.

The poor man's last minute job was so and so, the length was not equal to none. The poor woman fired boss of Givenchy gave her a baggy wedding dress.

The drama created by this couple, this wedding shouldn't be celebrated as Meghan said it was a spectacle with no care about the GBP30Million (rewatch her facial expression and tone at the Oprah), her real wedding was 3 days before in Harry's backyard (watch her facial expression and tone at the Oprah), very telling evil woman wants to hurt UK feelings.  What else but  :teehee: at the madness.
