Not sure where to put this but as this is the first King?s Birthday Honours List (Aus) of the new reign perhaps here? Among all the ex politicians and bureaucrats recently deceased comedian Barry Humphries and distinguished author Tim Winton stand out.

From ABC News Aus

This was the first year women outnumbered men on the King's Birthday honours list, which included entertainers, artists, Indigenous elders, scientists, environmentalists and other notable Australians.

Darwin-based Shellie Morris, one of Australia's most recognisable Indigenous singer-songwriters, was appointed an officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for her contributions to music and Aboriginal communities.

After being raised by an adopted family in Sydney, she moved to the territory as a young woman where she learnt to sing in 20 Aboriginal languages.

Queen Camilla Sees 'Progress Being Made' to Find Diabetes Cure - YouTube

QuoteThe Queen has joined forces with former Prime Minister Theresa May in the fight to find a cure for diabetes. The two met during a visit to a laboratory in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in London, which specialises in studying multiple autoimmune diseases. During a speech, Camilla said she?s hopeful a cure for diabetes ?is not far away

Personal side note, my family has been personally affected by diabetes. My sister has been a Type 1  diabetic fka (Juvenile Diabetes) for most of her life. She was diagnosed when she was six years old. This was in the early 1970's when there were no insulin pumps or continuous glucose monitoring. At home testing was for urine samples and not blood. Needless to say everyone and everything in our lives was impacted. My mother chose to go back to school and become a registered nurse a few years after my sister's diagnosis.
She's had various insulin pumps for about 25 years now and now a CGM. Fortunately, she's avoided most of the serious complications associated with diabetes. Hopefully a cure for this disease is in her lifetime.
