The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Cornwall aka The Prince and Princess of Wales are in Falmouth, Cornwall today. William previously visited Cornwall in November 2022 after inheriting the title of Duke of Cornwall. This is Catherine's first official visit to the county since September 2022.

Meanwhile the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall are visiting the National Maritime Museum Cornwall in Falmouth where they will learn more about the rich maritime heritage of Cornwall and how the Museum is working to highlight the relevance of maritime issues to the present day.

Prince William and Kate Middleton arrive in Falmouth for first joint Cornwall visit - Cornwall Live

During their visit, William and Kate will first spend time in the museum?s workshop where they will meet local people working on the refurbishment of the Kiwi, a fourteen-foot sailing dinghy which was presented to his grandparents, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke of Edinburgh, as a wedding present from the Royal New Zealand Navy.

The Prince and Princess of Wales will also hear from a group of young people who are taking part in the ?Young and Talented Cornwall? scheme which provides financial support to help young people from across Cornwall fulfil their potential, regardless of their financial means or background. The couple will then watch pupils from a local school taking part in a model boat race before departing the museum.
They are next due to visit a community centre in the area, spending time in a session for local mothers and their young children. They will then speak to representatives from St Petrocs, a local, independent charity based in Truro working with individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Cornwall.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, Duke and Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon visited the National Maritime Museum Falmouth, Discovery Quay, Falmouth, and were received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (Colonel Edward Bolitho).

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards visited the Dracaena Centre, Dracaena Avenue, Falmouth.

The Princess of Wales greeted her old history teacher with a hug as they were reunited for the first time since she left primary school today.

The mother-of-three, 41, visited the harbour town of Falmouth on Thursday with Prince William to learn about the area's maritime heritage at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall.

Before heading into the museum, the royal was approached by Jim Embury - who was her history teacher at St Andrews prep school in Berkshire.

The Princess of Wales looked delighted to see Mr Embury - who now volunteers at the museum - again after over two decades.

Kate recognised her former teacher instantly, threw her arms around him and said: 'Oh my goodness! My gosh, that's taken me right back!'

Oxford House has sensory and interactive tables for their residents to keep their minds active and alert. That's impressive. I'm glad to see Catherine out visiting the elderly during this visit. I'm even happier that I'm not the one attempting to flip a pancake in front of cameras.

During her visit to the home, The Princess of Wales heard more about Oxford House?s use of cutting edge, interactive technology to stimulate and enrich the daily lives of residents.

This includes the use of an interactive sensory table which was purchased in 2020 as a creative response to the pandemic and associated restrictions, and a new interactive wall which will be used to support residents with dementia.

Kate also joined residents taking part in a pancake making activity to mark Shrove Tuesday, before visiting the home?s award-winning garden to meet with staff and volunteers.

Oxford House is a family-run nursing home that first opened its doors to residents in 1980.

The home provides nursing care for up to 34 residents, supporting them to live as full a life as possible, and prides itself on providing outstanding levels of care delivered within a homely and comfortable environment
