I'm being told it's a damage control situation helping Ukraine visit. 

As apparently Wimbledon, AELTC and the LTA took unilateral decision of banning the Russians and Belarussian players to participate in the 3 events this summer.  Meaning they broke the 'discrimination' rule and the 'ranking' rule. Both the ATP and WTA have already pronounced against the AELTC (Wimbledon) and the LTA.  I smell the 15 plus players and the ATP/WTA suing.

Today as in Today London time, Wimbledon chiefs are using Kate the patron as the ''fall guy''.  Telegraph has an article.

Having listened to the accounts of those helping in Ukraine, they meet some of the staff stationed in London and hear about what their work has been like since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
