The Danish Royal Family's social media account revealed today that QMI was the person who designed Princess Ingrid Alexandra's monogram in 2004.

A touching connection to Denmark was discovered on Princess Ingrid Alexandra?s 18th birthday when Queen Margrethe revealed that she designed the young royal?s cypher in 2004.

The Danish Royal House shared birthday congratulations on its official Instagram account, noting that the cypher Princess Ingrid Alexandra has used ?that of a stylised ?I? and ?A? underneath a crown?was designed by Queen Margrethe as a gift.

A cypher is used by members of a royal family as an identifier, and by the reigning monarch of each realm on official documents, buildings, and for other functions.

Their father who died at six months short of 88 was longest living until she surpassed him. Haakon VII made it to 85 and Ragnild to 82.

When the king celebrates his birthday a week from Monday, he will tie his grandfather for third in years.

In years he has tied his grandfather for third longest living NRF member. On April 12th he will surpass his grandfather who died 49 days after his 85th birthday.

The family is out of the country to celebrate the King's milestone birthday privately. It's winter break week for Norwegian schools so this makes it easier for the King, and his family to be together.

King Harald V of Norway is 85 years old today. And while it?s a milestone moment for some, there is no special tradition of celebrating birthdays like 85 in Norway related so the day will not be marked very visibly in the country.

Norwegian Fortresses will fire a royal salute at 12 o`clock, with a total of 21 shots. The state-owned Norwegian TV channel NRK will also broadcast programmes about the King?s life throughout the day, as well as an extra show this evening. However, the birthday of the King is to be mainly celebrated privately.

Before the weekend, the Norwegian royal court published a statement in which they say that King Harald will celebrate the day privately. They also revealed that the Norwegian royal family has travelled abroad. This week it is winter holiday for the school`s in Norway, so there is reason to believe that King Harald has taken his children and grandchildren with him and gone on a week?s holiday.

King Harald is the first King of Norway born on Norwegian soil in 567 years. He was born at Skaugum estate on 21 February 1937 and is the son of King Olav of Norway and his wife Martha, who was Crown Princess of Norway and Princess of Sweden.

Crown Prince and Crown Princess to mark milestone birthdays with special tribute to Norway ? Royal Central

orway?s future king and queen both turn 50 this year and a series of celebrations have been planned around the country to highlight the occasions.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit plan to jointly celebrate with a series of visits around Norway themed to different aspects of Norwegian life.

According to the Norwegian Royal Court, ?The five journeys will together be a story about different parts of our society ? about both old and new Norway, about who we are and about what has shaped us as a people. In August, the Crown Prince and Princess will invite guests from all over the country to a birthday celebration.?

The five journeys are as follows: Stord, to celebrate industry and its impact on Norwegian life, in February; Setesdal and Telemark, to celebrate traditional crafting practices, in March; Finnmark, to celebrate the Sami heritage in Norway, in April; Tr?na, to celebrate the effect the ocean has played on life in Norway, in May; and Oslo, to celebrate the urban community, in June.

These five country-wide celebrations will culminate in a joint birthday party for the Crown Prince and Princess at the Royal Palace, billed as a ?backyard party.?

Princess Ingrid Alexandra was joined by her parents at her graduation ceremony.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra has graduated high school.

The Princess finished her schooling at Elvebakken High School in Oslo, where she had attended for the past three years.

All the graduates from the high school attended a gala performance and graduation at Olso Concert Hall with their families.

According to Norwegian media, the programme for the evening included ?singing, dancing, speeches and fun.?

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit attended alongside their graduating daughter and their younger son, Prince Sverre Magnus.
Princess Ingrid Alexandra did not receive her diploma at the ceremony as the results of their final exams have not come back yet. They are expected on Thursday; the students should get their diplomas on that day.

Ingrid Alexandra may choose to follow in her grandfather, King Harald and father, Crown Prince Haakon?s steps by training with the military after graduation before entering university. However, the family has said the young royal is free to choose her own path.

The Royal Court has not revealed future plans for the 19-year-old Princess.
