?I am happy for them that they are getting married but the wedding should have taken place in London. Windsor is just too small to accommodate this size of wedding.?

Another resident said: ?It is lovely they have chosen Windsor but it would be nice if Harry and Meghan acknowledged the disruption it has caused the people of Windsor

Hopefully the people there prepared like a snowstorm and got a few days rations so they can be snug in the house without having to go out.

Security is going to be tougher with the street layout and buildings, but I do think the pro's are up to the task, and the "aloha snackbar" crowd isnt really known for precision and/or skill. Should all go off without a hitch on the route at least, hopefully the outlying areas are safe, more worried about the spectators than the participants.

No. Definitely not London at StPauls or Westminster and Buckingham Balcony.
It is awful as it is now.
Hollyrood would have better.
Buckingham Palace , I think it is big enough to hold around 400 people of  closest family of PH, MMs only family member, her mother,  and friends of the couple would have been best.
No televised wedding.

This is an awful, ugly, circus, of expense , bad pr for MM starting out the people....just awful.

sandy

The bad "PR" comes from the Meghan bashers. The mainstream media does not make a federal case and blame Meghan about the family issues. I think it is a reflection on the media and the bashers who are shooting themselves in the foot. I wish Meghan and Harry every happiness. Why do you think it awful ugly and a circus? It's a royal wedding. The couple are not evil or awful and are  a couple getting married.

Yes I do agree it would be nice if the couple thanked the residents of Windsor, though I believe that won't happen until after the wedding.  I still believe that WC was the best location for the wedding due to security concerns as it is easier for the smaller town to be secured than the area around WA, the Mall and BP. Also the Met Police may have pointed out that they would also be busy securing areas around Wembley Stadium for the FA Final to take place on Saturday. I believe it would just be too much for them to try and hold two major events on the same day with the level of security that would be required.

IMO Holyrood would not be able to accommodate enough guests if they used the same church that Zara and Mike did for their 2011 wedding. The church is not that large when compared to SGC. As for a televised wedding, IMHO that was always going to happen for Harry.

FanDianaFancy

sandy, you and I get along...you know my posts on the cast of characters are never biased.
Fair.

I like PH and MM and like them as a couple.
I really hope, I SO SO want this girl to make it and for them to be and stay happy as a couple  for 5, 10, 20 years and on until old age and death do they part.
I want MM to follow the rules and fill that public role in the fishbowl with grace, dignity, hard work at her duties....the never putting a foot wrong in style, dress, walk, facial expressions, etc.  She has want it takes. She needs proper instruction. She needs to do it all as it is done. She dies not
It is a hard life in public, somewhat , but easy as a trade for a lifetime of wealth and  yes privacy in her position.

I do think for second son, not heir, and a need to scale down the BRF, a nontelrvised wedding would have been better. WC and Frogmore, fine.
The carriages and gun salutes and everything else PW had is just too much.
WC was chosen and it is more appropriate rather than StPauls or Westminster like AndrewSarah had during the high rolling 1980s.
Eug will have WC and Frogmore but probably with less pageantry  than PH. Certainly her wedding will not be televised.

MM is not evil. She was also not  a stripper, an escort, married twice, cause of the VietnamWar and everything else the poor girl has been accused of.

It is an awful circus with those people who are not MMs family are being paid by British media to really slam her. These people who ate related to her father , one way or another, really do not know MM.
Those people, Markles are Fooleys, are real lifelong , pitiful losers.

Its good to see Harry's family in force supporting Meghan; from Charles and Camilla visiting KP, to William and Kate at Windsor Castle.

Curryong

Fan, every single Royal who is a child of the monarch or the Heir to the throne in modern times has quite a large wedding, which is televised.

Edward is the Queen's third son. At the time of his and Sophie's wedding in 1999 the BRF was in rather low esteem in those years following Diana's death. Edward was seventh in line to the throne when he married, after Charles, William, Harry, Andrew, Beatrice and Eugenie.

Yet Edward had a televised wedding at St George's and also a reception at Windsor with the BRF present, including the Queen Mother, and even a few foreign royals. They had a large cake, quite a few bridal attendants and a carriage ride through Windsor. A fuss was made in the media, though not such a big one as now because Edward wasn't particularly popular and there was also virtually no Internet.

Like Edward Harry, sixth in line, is getting a Wedding at St George's and a reception at Windsor (and party at Frogmore.) He and Meghan, like Edward and Sophie, are going to have a televised wedding and a carriage ride of one carriage through Windsor.

Harry is getting a few extras like an escort of Household Cavalry because he, unlike Edward, was a Blues and Royals officer for ten years. As he served twice in war zones, no doubt the MOD were quite amenable to the military escort. Harry is not getting a gun salute at all.

The Queen and Prince Charles have been in charge of the scale of this wedding, which they are bearing the costs of. If Charles and/or the Queen were asked now I believe that they would regard the scale of this wedding as entirely appropriate. If the wedding were not televised then people who want to see Harry get married would complain. There are certainly as many people who want to see the televised ceremony now as there were for Edward's nuptials in 1999.

If the Queen and the Prince of Wales had wanted a smaller scale wedding then they would have pressed for one, and Harry would have agreed. Harry's personal tastes probably run to weddings somewhere hot like his friend Skippy's wedding in Jamaica.

William wanted a smaller wedding in St George's but was told no. Harry is the son of the Prince of Wales and I believe the choice of venue and the scale of this wedding is at least partly Charles's choice.

Yes it falls on PH and MM.. In reality, no. No it is not their fault or no ones fault in reality.
In the way that this is perceived, it is MMs fault and PH. It is all based on or and keeping the illusion alive and in  that way, it is PH and esp. MMs fault.

Your comment did not even make sense, illusion is what, not a FACT.  I do not control anyone's life but my own and the same goes for MM/PH, they control their own destiny not anyone esle's just as Tom Sr controls his own life......what should they sit on him daily telling him what to do and say.....give me break....Illusion is what, it is NOT real, it is hearsay and distorted opinions by others all for the purpose of causing trouble for someone else who have nothing better to do with their Own lives.

Since Meghan exists in Harry's life, yes there is the Responsibility from him/firm. Before their engagement, the press weren't following the Ragland/Markles, they were nobody. They were living their sad poor lives. Now Thomas the Hermit Recluse is in trouble, partly his fault and partly the Firm, Doria 'suddenly' has money to quit and open her own business.

Certain amount of responsibility from Harry and his team to advise the bride's family, no investigation whatsoever of the red flags of bankrupt and trailer trash dire straight in need of moneys, especially since they all seem to be the hillbilly low middle class to poor, and live in different countries.   It was much easier with the Middleton's because they are British and were born into a Constitutional Monarchy, they live in a gated mansion in Berkshire, their gated business company is also nearby, all in Berkshire, which makes it much harder for the press to picture take and find out what they were up to. (The only paparazzi that got in trouble, had to pay Kate a hefty sum for stalking/harassment previous to marriage). Also, William would actually visit Carole and Michael frequently, vacationed with them, he certainly had conversations of what, where, how, etc. of handling once out of the door situation.

LouisFerdinand

The article about Prince Harry's possible titles mentioned Connaught and Albany. I thought that Connaught and Albany were not available.

Curryong

The Express article IS rubbish. They're just scratching for something to write about. Connaught is in Southern Ireland and the Queen would never give anyone a non British territorial Dukedom.

Albany was given to Victoria's son Leopold and his son succeeded at birth to his titles as his father had died. However, Charles Edward was sent to Germany as a schoolboy to succeed to the Dukedom of Saxe Coburg Gotha and he supported the Kaiser during World War One.

His English titles were formally removed by Order in Council by King George V in March 1919. The dukedom of Albany therefore is in suspension. Charles Edward has male descendents who could in theory ask for the English titles to be restored, but they haven't done so yet and it would be a hollow victory anyway, as noble titles aren't formally recognised in modern Germany.

Albany therefore isn't available for Elizabeth to give to her grandson.

We all agree these low life?s are repulsive.
They will continue to be for the rest of their lives until the day they die.
They have found new careers.
Their claim to fame is MM.

The question is how could PH and MM have been rid of them?
There is really no to shut them up and no way to make them go away.

The only way is if the Brit media  and Amer. stops paying them
The only way is if bad things start happening to them like....
They have to pay USA taxes on their income from Brit media and Amer. media.
Being in the fame, with no protection, is not easy. Stalkers . Regular people just wanting to see their homes, job places.  Rouge and dangerous paparrazi  following them.
Oh, people think they got some money, so lawsuits.
Their pass can be dragged up. The Tracey Dooley low life is a recovering alcoholic.

It is just sad how people can be that way.

Yes they were unknown before M and H starting dating. Samantha loser jumped in then. She got to the media right away.

Thing is, no one would know about these losers if they had wanted to remain private. They put themselves out there.

A  good way for them to disappear is how their lives start messing them up like the half brother , mug shots with gf fir beating each other up.

Ok, I am done.

Curryong

There's just been an official announcement from KP that Charles will accompany Meghan from the Quire down the aisle to the altar. Probably Doria was feeling a bit overwhelmed after the last 24 hours with her arrival in England.
