A Hashtag in Meghan Markle's honour Has Helped raise charitable Donations All Over the World

TLLK

@Curryong-IMO the engagement threads are the appropriate place for these types of posts about royal activities.

She's lucky that she has a small fan base that (still) believe in her humanitarianism. Ironically with the Baby Shower hashtag.  Anyway, every cent counts, if only Amal, Serena and Co. may donate half a million to those 3 charities.

Nobody knows how big Meghan's fan base is around the world. And if the inference here is that it's billionaires in her circle that have been donating big money I know several people on Twitter and other forums who are working people and regularly donate to her charities.

Oh please, You wish she has a small fan base. Some bashers make 8th graders look mature with their crude language and vulgar "spin" of her name.

I would say Simple. without mathematics added. Or minded used in place of mathematics.

It's not MOther's day. what are you talking about?

wannable

#233
Basic mathematics really, hashtag count, moneys donated today, which was the point by a UK MM fan, as its Mother's Day there.

A woke millennial 8th grader with no computer science degree and first Honours in mathematics like mua, will get around the hashtag and midnight to midnight count.

But as I said any donation counts.

wannable

Exactly, hence the MM fan tweeted and requested retweets and donations to 3 MM charities of and using the GlobalBabySussexShower especially and exclusively for today.

Curryong

It certainly wasn't one Meghan fan tweeting and retweeting. Always trying to belittle her and the people who like her. As I have said, I know several people who donate to her charities.

It is a great gesture, as I said every cent (penny) counts.  Stating a fact about basic/simple mathematics of hashtag (trending) is what it is, rather than aggrandizing something that is not there.

sandy

How on earth is it a question of mathematics when a bunch of people take a loathing to Meghan and set up social media and start loathing fests? It is so far from mathematics.

Who is this MM "fan." You seem to think there is only one.

Twitter users know how to use hashtags, therefore check if its trending or not, the numbered position also appears.

The gesture was carried out by a MM Fan, her followers retweeted, some were able to donate too, and the six degrees of separation, the followers of the followers.

But as I said, nice gesture, every cent counts, but the aggrandizing of something is not there, quite a small fan group.

Why do you assume people on the Twitter account represent All Meghan Fans or the majority. I think there are a lot more than you think.

wannable

I'm not going to further explain how to number and total the # hashtag. Use twitter, and start punching the available buttons to DYI or hit the twitter main page (or any other social media) to the frequent answered questions, users manual.

sandy

Twitter is not the only form of communication in the Universe. Never mind the snark.

wannable

The subject of discussion is the MM fan gesture she carried out via twitter.  There is no snark in stating facts of number and totaling of #hashtag and checking the 3 charities GoFundMe or the official websites for donations carried out.

TLLK

BTW the campaign carries on until May 12, 2019 which is Mother's Day in the U.S.

Duke of Sussex (extra officially) has a lunch event tomorrow.

The Lord Mayor's Big Curry Lunch - The Soldiers' Charity

Quote
The Lord Mayor?s Big Curry Lunch
The 12th annual Lord Mayor?s Big Curry Lunch is now sold out! We look forward to welcoming all our guests to the Guildhall on Thursday 4th April.
The Lunch unites the City of London to show their support for members of her Majesty?s Armed Forces and Veterans through the three National Service Charities; ABF The Soldiers? Charity, the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

As we move towards the 12th Lunch, we do so with great excitement and a renewed sense of purpose. For two reasons. Firstly, we hope that the proceeds from the 12th Lunch will take us to ? and beyond ? the figure of ?2 million contributed to serving soldiers, veterans and their families over the life of The Lord Mayor?s Big Curry Lunch. This has had a deep and lasting impact on the lives of thousands of servicemen and women who were affected by service in Afghanistan and Iraq. We thank you for your support.
Secondly, for the next three years, The Lord Mayor?s Big Curry Lunch will link with the Civic and Mayoral theme of employment and employability. As part of our giving we will provide financial support for veterans to take part in a programme designed to help them manage their pain and subsequently find meaningful work. One of the biggest inhibitors to veterans getting into the world of work and sticking at it is pain. The causal factors involved are complex, whether physical or psychological. King Edward VII Hospital?s Centre for Veterans? Health has developed ? and tested ? a six-month long Pain Management Programme specifically for veterans. The Lunch will fund, as part of ABF The Soldiers? Charity grant-giving, up to 18 veterans on this programme in each of the next three years.
Who will be there?
The Lord Mayor?s Big Curry Lunch brings together over 1,300 key decision makers and influential leaders from organisations across the various business sectors of the City of London and beyond, hosted by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of the City of London and the Sheriffs and their consorts. Many of these individuals are also:
Members of the City of London?s Livery Companies and Ward Clubs
Senior officers, serving soldiers and veterans from the British Army and other services
Members of Parliament, including the Secretary of State for Defence
Each year we welcome a Royal Guest of Honour, who in the past has included HRH The Prince of Wales, HRH The Prince Henry of Wales and HRH The Princess Royal. We will be announcing the 2019 Royal Guest of Honour closer to the time of the Lunch.
Many of the charity?s beneficiaries will also be joining us, along with serving soldiers. We encourage you to introduce yourself to them and to learn about their experiences in the military.

?The Soldiers? Charity is here to provide support to individual soldiers, veterans and their families when in need. Whilst a significant number of those needing our help are veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, the three Armed Forces Charities provide a lifetime of support for all members of Her Majesty?s Armed Forces. The eldest person we helped last year was a 107-year-old widow with her care home fees and the youngest was a two-year-old child. Thank you for supporting the 2018 Lunch. Please support the 2019 Lunch and help us to provide assistance to those who need it?
? General Sir Mike Jackson GCB CBE DSO DL President, ABF The Soldiers? Charity. Speaking at the Post-Lunch Thank You Party in May 2017
Partners of The Lord Mayor?s Big Curry Lunch
ABF The Soldiers? Charity works in association with the other two national service charities, The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

If official tomorrow, the first to note please open the thread.

Don't know whether this is the right thread but CBS is planning a news special on the first year of the Sussex marriage, including the birth of their baby.
