Seems like the weather this coming Friday isn't good for sailing.  So I wonder if the weekend for Cowes week will also be affected.

Storm forecast affects William and Kate?s plans for the King?s Cup ? Royal Central

QuoteKensington Palace had announced that the sailing regatta highlighting charities and organisations supported by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has been moved because of bad weather predictions. The King?s Cup will now take place on Thursday August 8th, a day earlier than planned, because of storms forecast for later in the week.

Princess Cassandra

This must have caused a beehive of last minute tasks...I hope they were not way behind in their preparations.

This is great.  Getty Images has pictures of the other children, and Carole too.  I wouldn't be surprised if the Cambridge's and Middleton's spend the weekend at the Isle of Wight.  There are beautiful cottages or mansions for short term lease.

Prince George is with his Grandpa Michael and what appears to be a school bff.

The trophy will be given out soon.  As previously mentioned, Land Rover sponsored the regatta, so the 8 charities will be receiving the moneys.

Quotehe King's Cup, a trophy first presented by King George V at Cowes' Royal Yacht Squadron in 1920, was awarded to Bear Grylls' winning team.

The duke and duchess hope the King's Cup regatta will become an annual event, increasing awareness of the benefits of sport, while also raising funds for their charities.

Spectators watched the race from a 800-seater grandstand, while footage was also played on screens across the town.

QuoteWilliam spoke to Rhian Roberts, 34, who is one of 33 people supported by the trust.

Mrs Roberts, a primary school teacher, told William she had married into a dairy family in West Wales.

She has been supported by the trust after suffering damage to her neck during a tackle in March 2018.

?We?ve been lambing with the children this week,? William told Mrs Roberts, who played with club Y Piod Pinc for two seasons.

?Charlotte wasn?t sure at first but George was straight in there. Louie loves the tractors.

?They love seeing the lambs and feeding the lambs. Dairy farming ? you are all seriously tough.?

QuoteThe Welsh Rugby Union had 60 buckets for fans to make donations to those affected by the floods, and has pledged ?100,000 to support clubs.

Staff have volunteered to help with the clear-up operation across the country.

The union is also taking steps to help with equipment lost in the flooding, as well as providing specialist expertise with recovering and maintaining damaged pitches.

Martyn Phillips, group chief executive of the Welsh Rugby Union, speaking ahead of the match, said: ?These are exceptional circumstances and we have therefore decided to allocate dedicated funds and resources to help out rugby clubs in need in communities throughout the country.

?There is money put aside for emergencies such as these and we will take great care to ensure that we target both money and resources in the right areas so that we are helping those who need it most.?

Glad to see that the Welsh Rugby charity is helping those affected by the recent flooding as well as their usual work of assisting those who were injured while playing.

So it seems that the Cambridges spent their half term break in Norfolk with the kiddies joining in with the lambing season. This is an incredibly busy time for the farmers with the new additions to their flocks.

As an ex sports person, I love the scheme of Sports Aid UK, not everyone who 'qualifies' top 5 get commercial sponsorship.  The industries that sponsor are ''still' with the mindset that one (both genders) must be physically attractive, if not, be no. 1 worldwide.

After I retired from sport, I was a Director at the sports federation for the Olympic committee, we created a similar scheme for those who made it, but had zilch private commercial sponsors, i.e. from footwear, clothing, airline, food, beverage, etc. companies. We basically and firstly sponsored the gifted with free Education (university included), health, insurance, a gifted housing, the 'country' Olympic clothing was their basic.

What about the none top 5 of each sport; the scheme gives them basic training facility with donor wear. Usually there's cafeterias with really great nutritional meals and almost free, a penny.
