The Duke of Edinburgh has achieved the milestone of being the longest lived serving British Royal. The last longest lived serving royal was Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught; who was born in 1850 and died in 1942. Arthur was the seventh child of Queen Victoria and her husband, Albert, Prince Consort.

Prince Philip is 91, and he was born on 10 June 1921 to Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Batternberg. A couple of articles:

This is quite an achievement, well done Philip!

Considering he married into the family, I don't think we should count his bachelor years!!!

Still, making it to 91 is quite an achievement!

You do make a good point. Though during his bachelor years he was still a Royal Prince of Greece and Denmark and indirectly a distant member of the British Royal Family.

Yes, I'm aware that he was still "royal" but I actually think that because he married into the BRF (well, into his current position), it somewhat discredits the 'full blooded' members of the family that have not only lived, but SERVED longer than he has.
