The couple are in East London today for the visit and are observing their mourning period with black tie for William and a black ensemble for Catherine. The late DoE was the official commandant for the Air Cadets until 2015 when he passed on the honorary position to the Duchess of Cambridge.

Prince Philip served as Air Commodore-in-Chief of the Air Training Corps for 63 years, and in 2015, he passed the military patronage to Kate, who became Honorary Air Commandant.

As a mark of respect, William donned a dark suit, while wife Kate wore a black military-style coat.

Kate was the one who climbed into the flight simulator.  And did quite well.  Pilot licence in the future??

The instructor should print out the 'very well' result. I love the banter, William was goading her to say 'it's not easy' but nope.  :high5:

Catherines grandfather was a fighter pilot during WWII. Shed only be following in the family footsteps.
