You can see that Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel were genuinely grieving the losses of the people. They were definitely moved by the tragedy with the sad expressions on their faces. Like Princess Madeleine, my thoughts also go to Sweden and the affected people and their families. May Sweden continue to remain a peaceful and safe country. I believe these terrorist attackers are set on instilling fear and havoc for others by committing these crimes. As they seek to continue ISIS's work, the world must firmly let them know that their evil acts won't be tolerated.

A tearful Crown Princess Victoria, accompanied by her husband Prince Daniel, visited the site of the terror attack in Stockholm yesterday morning saying, "There is a tremendous sadness." She brought red roses that she laid down in tribute, and she briefly spoke to the assembled media after standing for a moment of silence at the memorial that has formed to the victims.

An emotional Victoria told the press, "I feel great sorrow; I feel emptiness.

"We must show great strength. We must fight against this. Swedish society is built on huge confidence, on a sense of community."

Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria has paid an emotional visit to the site of the Stockholm truck attack.

The royal laid flowers at a makeshift memorial and stood for a moment in silence before speaking to reporters.

Four people are now known to have died and another 15 are injured after a hijacked truck was driven into a crowded shopping street.

Princess Victoria of Sweden was overcome with emotion on Saturday when she visited the scene of Friday's suspected terror attack in Stockholm. Victoria could be seen in tears as she laid flowers at the memorial site accompanied by her husband Prince Daniel. The Royal couple stood in silence as a sign of respect for the victims of the shocking attack. On Friday, a lorry was driven into the Ahlens department store in the Swedish capital, killing four people and injuring 15. The four killed have been confirmed as being one Brit, a Belgian woman and two Swedes.  The Mail reports that one victim of the attack was an 11-year-old girl on her way home from school.

Princess Victoria, who is a mother herself to Princess Estelle, four, and Prince Oscar, one, reportedly said she felt "sadness and emptiness" at the heartless attack. She continued: "Society has shown tremendous power and that we are resisting this, that we want to resist this." The BBC has reported that Swedish police found a suspect device inside the lorry in the driver's seat, yet it is unknown if it is a bomb. A 39-year-old suspect from Uzbekistan, who is known to the security services, is currently in custody. The crash scene is currently sealed off as the police investigate the incident.

King Carl XVI Gustaf addresses the nation after attack

His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf addressed the Swedish people yesterday afternoon after the terror attack in Stockholm on Friday. He and Queen Silvia had been in Brazil for official events but flew back after they were told about the attack. After arriving back in Sweden, he and the Queen met Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia at Stockholm Palace where they were briefed by the Chief of Police and head of the Security Service.

He began his speech saying, "Dear Swedes, all in Sweden."

He expressed that the thoughts of the entire Swedish Royal Family were with those who had been impacted by the "heinous deed" and that they were all "deeply shaken by what happened."

King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden has released a statement about the Stockholm terror attack, which took place this afternoon.

    "It is with dismay the Royal Family and I have been informed of the attack in Stockholm this afternoon. The background and full extent of the incident is not yet known. We are closely following the developments but our thoughts are already now with the victims and their families."

Around 3 o'clock this afternoon, the incident where "a person in a vehicle has injured other people" on Drottninggatan near Klarabergsgatan was first reported to the police. It was soon confirmed that the vehicle was a truck. At least three people have reportedly been killed. A large number of people have been injured.

My heart goes out to Sweden. May the friends and family of the victims find solace in this difficult period. Life is not always be fair when the people we love the most die. The best we can do is to come together and show our support for the victims at the memorial ceremony. We have to believe that there will always hope despite how tragic the event was.

The Swedish Royal Family honour terror victims

On Monday, almost the entire Swedish Royal Family attended a memorial ceremony to honour the victims who were killed during last week's terrorist attack on the famous shopping street "Drottninggaten" (English: The Queen Street) in the centre of Sweden's capital, Stockholm.

The ceremony took place at noon local time outside Stockholm City Hall. The ceremony began with a minute of silence, and this was marked all over Sweden and in Swedish society around the world. Several politicians held speeches, including the Swedish prime minister, Stefan Löfven. "You are not lonely; we think of you," the Prime Minister said in his speech.

When the ceremony had concluded, His Majesty the King, Crown Princess Victoria and several other members of the royal family took the opportunity to personally thank the police officers, firefighters and ambulance workers who were first on site after the attack.
