They are always saying they want the monarchy to be less grand.

Good on HM and Prince Philip - now they know how to symbolise what the British people think. ;) ;)

Charles probably told the other royals that if they don't show he'll cut off their money when (if) he gets the Top Job. That's how my Mum got me round when she married my stepfather. It's not that hard to show up and smile for 20 min when your allowance is at stake. B)
