I have been to the one in London a few times.

They run cultural events mostly paid for by the Spanish government. I attended one by Paul Preston, a historian, talking about General Franco and another Spanish guitar musical evening.

Cervantes is a revered Spanish writer as per Shakespeare in the UK.
