The Royal Family were yesterday accused of a cover-up - after Prince Andrew hit an officer while driving in his Range Rover. Witnesses claim the prince, 50, was driving at up to 50 or 60mph on Constitution Hill before he approached the gates of Buckingham Palace.

The prince - at the wheel of his 4x4 with personalised Duke of York plates - was seen overtaking a queue of traffic before swinging at speed into the Palace. As he did so, Andrew's 2.5tonne car clipped a Royal protection officer as he frantically ushered tourists out of the vehicle's path.
