Princess Anne Opens New Dog Kennels in Melton

Princess Anne was taken on a tour of the base where military working dogs are trained for war during a visit to Leicestershire yesterday.

The royal visitor flew into the Defence Animal Centre, in Melton, by helicopter, despite gale force winds in the south of the country which had threatened to put the visit in jeopardy.

She officially opened three new military kennel blocks at the centre, before flying to Normanton-le-Heath to open Paralympic Grove, in the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Wood.
