Video from King's Day:
As I mentioned on my post, I thought the sticking point was probably King's Day. Very unfortunate. However, surely Queen Maxi, formerly Argentinian like the Pope, and a devout RC, surely could have been spared to attend this important funeral (magnificent and full of signifance I thought though only caught bits, seeing it on Aus TV.) It wasn't as if there won't be any more national celebrations of King W-A's birthday, and he had two of his daughters by his side anyway. An historic occasion missed imho and a bit of a let down for Netherlands Catholics.
The King, Queen Máxima and Prime Minister Schoof attend the National Remembrance on Dam Square in Amsterdam. The Royal Couple lays a wreath at the National Monument.
