Sweden's king and queen visit site of mass shooting
Reuters (https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/swedens-king-queen-visit-site-mass-shooting-2025-02-05/)
Dreadful mass shooting in Sweden, the worst in their history, I believe. A small mercy is that it wasn't a terrorist attack, although I'm not sure that a gunman who was a local man makes for much comfort. An incel who lived as a recluse for most of his life and showed paranoid tendencies and other mental health issues should never have been able to gather an arsenal of weapons. The fact that he was able to anyway doesn't point imo to a high level of efficiency within the local authorities responsible for licensing and gun control.
On 6 February, The King visited the Royal Swedish Opera to present the Royal Swedish Opera's Medal of Merit to employees who have worked in the orchestra for a long time.

Swedish Gala Dinner at the Royal Palace
To celebrate 250 years of Jewish life in Sweden, The King and Queen will attend an event in Stockholm's Great Synagogue this evening.
The anniversary year is based on the fact that in 1775 King Gustav III gave the Jewish seal engraver Aaron Isaac permission to settle in Sweden without converting to Christianity. Aaron Isaac was then able to found a Jewish congregation in Stockholm.
