Prince Charles plans lavish 70th birthday party for Camilla
Camilla to celebrate 70th birthday at lavish party planned by Prince Charles | Royal | News | Express.co.uk (http://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/823599/Prince-Charles-Camilla-birthday-party-Duchess-of-Cornwall)
Of course he would. When has he not had a lavish party honoring her.
How much of this article is true? PW and K there ? PH there and with MM if she is with him ?
300 people?
Junor would , no doubt, make the list.
Junor will probably be guest of honour after Camilla. Yes, William and Harry (and Kate) will be there. How could it be otherwise? Charles's sensitivities on the issue will come into play and even if they don't particularly want to be there they'll turn up.
Of course they are going to go, its expected and I'm sure they love their father anyway. I doubt if Junor is likely to be a guest, I should no think she's a firend, just a journalist.
The picture of Charles and Camilla in the Garden Room is spectacular. The artwork on the background wall is excellent.
Charles is really getting a lot of mileage out of the birthday, he's logged in quite a few. The Queen only gets two.

Photo was taken for King Harald's birthday.)
QuoteTo mark Prince Charles?s milestone birthday, The Queen will host a reception and dinner in the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace on 14 November. Close family and several other European royals are expected to attend. A new BBC documentary, Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70 will also air to coincide with the milestone birthday, featuring interviews with the Prince, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William and Prince Harry.
If not a lot of foreign royalty turn up to this, apart from perhaps the Greeks, Serbians and others without thrones, then all I can say is to HM and Charles is 'What can you expect?' Getting on my high horse about this as usual, but sending just Sophie to King Harald of Norway's big 80th birthday bash, when other sovereigns and Crown Princes turned up was an awful insult IMO, and using the King's birthday photo of the celebration when Charles couldn't be bothered to turn up to it himself, (along with all the other Royal celebratory occasions missed by Charles and Elizabeth over the decades) is just the cherry on top of the insult by Royal Central as far as I'm concerned.

But we have wait and see who reveals for Prince Charles?s 70th birthday dinner kept posted
Perhaps he doesn't care, provided those closest to him are there.

Honestly I believe that QEII and the PoW know that their closest friends among European royals (Harald/Sonja, Constantine/Anne Marie, Alexander/Katherine) who are still in good health will come to the event. I'm not surprised that Margrethe is not coming considering that 2018 has been a challenging year for her, but Frederik and Mary will be there. Edward and Sophie are the ones who are of a similar age and stage with the younger group of reigning monarchs in Belgium, Spain, and the NL so there is still somewhat of a connection with those monarchs.
Speculative article in the Express about whether Fergie will be invited to Charles's birthday bash. I don't see why, as a divorced sister in law she would be, unless Andrew makes some sort of row about it.

I am sure that Charles and the queen want his good friends and relatives he's fondest of, at the party. Of course tehre will be some people who are invited because they have to be, because of work, family or other connextions, but I doubt if Charles is getting upset if there are "only" a few crowned heads.
Of course Queen Maxi has been sick, but I have read elsewhere that there is a good chance that King W.A, Maxi and Princess Beatrix will be in London for the birthday celebrations. Apparently the visiting Austrian President is having an evening banquet hosted in The Hague, not by the King and Queen, but by the Dutch PM, on the 14th.
There has been a reply from the Norwegian royals I read on another forum. The King, Queen, CP and CPss (in spite of her illness and fear of flying) will be present at BP on the 14th.

No.
Sarah is there yapping again and yapping nonsense . Her son -in-law will be a wonderful Consort. No. He is Princess Eug husband.
Consort...comparison to QVictoria and PAlbert.
Eug is heir to the throne.
See the daily mail.
If this were Beas or Eug or even Andrews birthday, Sarah would be listed. PCs, no.

I'd believe at least a bit of this bs if it wasn't the Fail peddling it!
Ahhhhh, the overdrive of the praises of PC on his milestone birthday.
PR , TPTB, the PC and C fan journalists are going into overdrive to the point of insanity.
Well, it is to be expected.
PC did not come from a dysfunctional family.
He had two loving parents who were and still are married to each other.
He had no crazy half siblings. He had no financial woes. He has memories of his parents and family and grandmother in his youth of family gatherings.
Yesyesyes, ohohoh, PP could have been tough.
Ohohoh, QEII and PP had to leave PC and Anne, then PR, with their nannies, guards, cooks, drivers, doctors on call tutors, cleaners, and the loving care of HRH, their grandmother.
People lieave their kids and spouses all the time for military service..
M and PW,PH came from broken homes. Divorced parents. Ms had financial struggles. M has no siblings. Half- siblings who are crazy. One is a criminal and the other is certifiable nuts.
W and H are full siblings, sane, with no criminal backgrounds and are very close.

Have just read elsewhere that King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Belgians have accepted an invitation to Prince Charles's seventieth birthday reception. I wonder whether the Spanish (or at least ex Queen Sophia) will be there. She and her brother Constantine have always been close to Charles and if Constantine can't make it because of his physical condition at least several of his children/grandchildren probably will.
The NL has confirmed that Princess Beatrix will be in attendance at the party. I agree
@Curryong that we'll likely see the Greek royals with Queen Sofia there too. :)

There are more. Apparently Juan Carlos of Spain will be there, escorting his wife to the birthday reception. The Spanish Court has just announced it. Wonder how she likes that? She would have been happier if her son was a guest I'm sure. Aren't Felipe and Leti in Peru on an official visit? I still think the Greeks will turn up so that will be some comfort.
Also Henri and Maria Teresa of Luxembourg will be guests as well. Just been announced. Maybe they are doubling up and visiting Gui and Stephanie in London at the same time.
Yes the King and Queen are in Peru now. Wow who would have thought that TM JC and S would attend another event together?
Glad to see that the GD and GDss will be there.

What a fabulous night it must be for all the attendees. What a shame that there couldn't be a few photos taken showing the women's gowns. The Norwegians were the only ones we saw full length. They might release a group photo of the royals together in a few weeks as with King Harald's 80th birthday.
We saw hair and jewellery in the cars and that was it, really. See, I just love the way the Scandis do it, where cameras are allowed in on keynote birthdays so everyone can enjoy the fun. Love Kate and Meghan's looks tonight, and the Queen's speech was heartwarming. It is unusual and lovely to have a son of that age and be there to toast his birthday.

"My mother saw me turn 70, of course. And she was heard to observe that 70 is exactly the age when the number of candles on your cake finally exceeds the amount of breath you have to blow them out.
"Over his 70 years, Philip and I have seen Charles become a champion of conservation and the arts, a great charitable leader ? a dedicated and respected heir to the throne to stand comparison with any in history ? and a wonderful father.

Yes, I took another look at them after I posted and I agree as do posters on another forum. The mystery remains, who lent them. My guess is probably Cam, simply because she has so much jewellery that 'giving' one pair wouldn't make any difference to her. Plus, she has sets in many different styles. Lots of people are praying for a group shot to be released in the next couple of weeks. The BRF are so lousy about that sort of thing (and about tiara events.) It was really lovely to see the way that King Harald of Norway's 80th was organised and how Ingrid Alexandra and her brother acted as 'interviewers' and moved around all the tables with a mike. (She asked Beatrix of the Netherlands a question in English which Beatrix answered.) And what do we get with the British? Tiaras once in a blue moon and absolutely private key birthdays. It stinks, IMO.

My guess is probably Cam, simply because she has so much jewellery that 'giving' one pair wouldn't make any difference to her. Plus, she has sets in many different styles. So, either Cam or a commercial jeweller!
From looking at the design, my guess is that these are ME/Southeast Asian in origin and they could have been a wedding gift to the new Duchess of Sussex. :Jen:

Philip's looking very frail. Wonder whether he stayed till the end, whenever the end was. Midnight?
@Curryong-
Consider the source- According to Richard Kay the guests departed in this order: First the Sussexes, then the DoE, then QEII and the rest stayed for a longer period of time. (I'm guessing the family needed to see if they'd be bringing Peter Phillips' gifts to his home or the hospital. :D)
QuoteWhile 97-year old Prince Philip made an early departure ? before the dancing ? he was not the first. Prince Harry and the pregnant Duchess of Sussex made their excuses and left.
The Queen left soon after, but others remained until after midnight. And there was no doubting what they considered the high point of the evening ? the Magical Bisector?s tour de force (Edward once harboured theatrical ambitions).
RICHARD KAY reveals Prince Charles's extraordinary 70th birthday | Daily Mail Online (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6399331/RICHARD-KAY-reveals-Prince-Charless-extraordinary-70th-birthday.html)
I was just taking a look at the photo of Prince Philip departing in the car when I mentioned the frail looks. At least I think it was when he departed. The newspapers wouldn't, heaven forbid, pop in a photo of when he arrived, surely!
It would have been hilarious to have seen a sawn Peter Phillips. If anything had gone wrong would Edward have been charged with manslaughter?!! What a pity the Sussexes didn't stay to watch. If it was true of course. With Kay you never know.

Incidentally, about those chandelier earrings of Meghan's worn on the night of the party. On another forum it was suggested that they might be a pair gifted to Cam by the Sultan of Brunei. Apparently that family likes yellow gold jewellery and they do look as if they come from that region. Apparently Camilla received a demi-parure so a necklace might come to light in the future!
QuoteIf it was true of course. With Kay you never know.
<_< Yes.
Though if the Sussexes, DoE and QEII felt that they'd spent enough time at the party, then I'm sure that Charles would understand. :) His parents are elderly and his daughter-in-law might be experiencing some pregnancy fatigue.

I loved the pictures. They may be quite young, but they look like very serious dancers.
I'd imagine that the pupils there are the cream of the crop. I think it's pretty difficult to be admitted there.
The Vice President of the Royal Ballet School is Lady Sarah Chatto, Princess Margaret's daughter. Margaret was very involved in the School for years.
It is a significant milestone to POW and there is no artificial time limit on how much or when he can celebrate. This is a worthwhile event of which he is the patron. I am sure they were delighted to have him there. It was a great event and I am sure a highlight for the young dancers. The Wellingtons are great friends of C&C anyway so I am sure the duchess of wellington was more than happy to receive POW.
70 is not a significant milestone anymore with more people turning 100.
So? It is a significant milestone to most people who achieve it
But most people have a day to celebrate. Charles "birthday celebrations" started early in 2018, enough is enough.
What does it matter? He is a prince so its customary for certain years in a royal life to be special years with special events...
Prince Charles is not "most people" and besides, I think he deserves to celebrate. The man is still alive despite his detractors wishing and predicting for him an early death. In any case, the ballet school is perfectly entitled to commemorate his birthday at the time of their choosing and in a manner of their choosing. Who exactly sets the rules as to when celebrations must end? The Danish royals do celebrate theirs for long periods of time and fair play to them.
Charles is not all that special. Even the Queen did not do this. And she's the one who is the most "Special". It seems to be an ego trip for Charles IMO.
Who predicts an early death for Charles? You are the only one who even talks about this here.

Charles attended a world premier at The Royal Opera House in London which was presented in honour of his birthday.
Charles has been the President of the Royal Ballet since 2003 and Patron of the Royal Opera House since 2009.
He is very busy, there is no CC of him visiting them last year (watch the special video of Charles 70th iPlayer BBC, his staff and his children say he is always very busy, his schedule too), so this is their opportunity to gift their patron.
Usually, patrons of arts, museums, any 'innauguration', they Go and Do the duty of premiers, cutting the ribbon, unvailing a plaque....

Well the organizers of the event thought he was that special so I suppose it is really their right to celebrate his birthday as they see fit.
If you really want to see the depth that Charles' critics can descend to, you do not have to look very far. Just visit an article about him and you will see a few of them on the comments. They are not very many, but they are persistent and they repeat their bile often. You could not miss them.
Did the organizers really have a choice?

No idea, I think you would have to ask them. I assume that they wanted Charles to be their patron and that involves a mutual useful relationship... they get noticed by the press because he is visiting and he gets to do the sort of duties that are the requirements of his position.
Of course the organizers had a choice and chose Charles. By all accounts, it was a great event...especially for the young dancers who are the most important in this.
I meant the choice of giving the man another birthday party.
I don't quite see why it iwas "another birthday party". Charles went to see the young ballet dancers perfoming and got some publicity for the Ballet.. THat's the sort of thing he is supposed to do...
There was no reports of a 'party', the organization had a Premier, 1st day of a show, and decided to Dedicate it to Charles as a Birthday Honour.
Quote from: sandy on February 15, 2019, 12:47:42 PM

The people that like and celebrate Charles organize parties for his birthdays as well as inviting him to their events. Those that don't like him do not celebrate his birthday and do not invite him to their events. Each to their own...but they have a choice.
If Charles did not want it, he would have said so. He enjoys all the adulation just for turning 70 which is not rare these days.
why would he say no to an event at a charity he works for?
QuoteIf Charles did not want it, he would have said so. He enjoys all the adulation just for turning 70 which is not rare these days.
I seriously doubt that he would have told the ballet teaching staff to forgo the students' performance especially since these students are there to learn ballet. After all they would have been rehearsing it for weeks and to decline viewing their performance would be a bit rude IMHO.
Allowing the students to go ahead with their performance was the right choice to make IMO. :)
It was a great event and the people that really matter in this (dancers, organizers and patron) were happy to attend. I think this is just another case of over-reaching for something to gripe about. I suspect that the people that hate Charles would criticize him in all and every circumstance.
I don't see any signs that he "enjoys the adulation".. Its hardly adulation to have an event, which also honours his turning 70 but is mainly for the benefit of the ballet and the younger dancers. I don't say he dislikes parties and a bit of admiration but after all he gets plenty of it because of his position and probably a private celebration of his birthday with his own friends and family means more to hm..
I see plenty of signs of it.
Royal you keep using the H word about Charles and Camilla nobody else does.
What does he do?? What are the signs? If he didn't look pleased at these events, he would no doubt get flak for not showing pleasure in his work
This is going in circles amabel.

Yet it all started with a great event for a great charity. Somehow (as usual), it was recast into a debate as to why Charles is having too many parties and why he is being over-celebrated...nothing to do with the event at all.

Yes, I've heard it's a pretty tough field to be in at all. You have to have the talent, the right body structure, a good sense of music, and the will to practice long hours and work through pain. I admire them, and they look so beautiful when they dance (both the ballerinas and danseurs).

I hope we will get to see labeled photo's of representatives of Welsh charities and groups he supports. And of course always love to see the ladies and what they are wearing. Such fun when one of them is expecting, too. There is no mention of the Wessex couple or the Duke of York, which suggests that this is more about Wales and Welsh charities and patronages than about the POW himself.
:goodpost:Except for Anne, who was present at the ceremony for her brother all those decades ago, there's no reason for Andrew or the Wessexes to be there. Personally they are not very close to Charles, were too young to be at the ceremony in 1969 and have no Welsh connections. Mother, wife, sister and sons (and their wives) are enough, IMO.
I hope we are going to see some of this reception besides a couple of sound bites for the evening news. Want to see clothes, hear some of the music, look at the interactions of the royals with the invaluable charity workers.

A special Wales Week for Charles and Camilla ? Royal Central (http://royalcentral.co.uk/uk/charlesandcamilla/a-special-wales-week-for-charles-and-camilla-124891)
QuoteThe Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will have extra reason to celebrate as they head off for their annual week long tour of the principality. For this year, Wales Week co-incides with the fiftieth anniversary of Charles? investiture with the traditional title given to the heir to the throne.
The Queen invested her eldest son as Prince of Wales on July 1st 1969 in a special ceremony at Caernarfon Castle. As part of the celebrations, half a century ago, Swansea was given city status and Charles and Camilla will spend a day there during Wales Week 2019 to mark its special anniversary, too.
In fact, it?s fifty not out for much of the annual visit as the Prince of Wales is also set to mark five decades since the establishment of the South Wales Police Force which is now based in Bridgend. As part of his visit there, Charles will open their new headquarters.
Camilla has a fortieth anniversary to celebrate during the five day stay. The Royal Voluntary Service in Llandovery reaches that milestone this year and the duchess, who is president of the RVS, will visit them and meet some of the many volunteers involved.
The royal couple will undertake over twenty engagements during Wales Week this year, starting with a visit to the Prince?s Trust call centre at Nantgarw near Cardiff to meet some of those who help the thousands of young people who get in touch with the charity. Camilla will also visit the Maggie?s Cancer Care Centre in Cardiff (she is the organisation?s patron) and pop into Carmarthen market during her stay while Charles will make a poignant visit to Yr Ysgwrn, the home of war poet Hedd Wyn who was killed on the first day of the Battle of Passchendaele.
During their time in Wales, Charles and Camilla will stay at their home there, Llwynywermod, and on the second evening they will throw open its doors for a special evening of music and drama.

It's incredible to realize that Charles' investiture was fifty years ago. Fantastic photos from 1969 and his many visits to Wales over the years. :windsor1:
One would have thought that among the 'many visits to Wales over the years' there might have been an acknowledgement of some kind by the media as well as CH of an extremely successful tour of Wales that was undertaken by a married couple in 1981. Diana was Princess of Wales for fifteen of those years mentioned and a very much loved one in the Principality as well. She brought huge crowds out in 1981 and every time afterwards.
But no, mustn't rain on Charles's parade. Just lets everybody pretend that Diana never happened.

That is not a new outfit for her. I like the skirt and it is not everyone who can wear a pleated white skirt! The jacket looks like a nice linen but I guess I would choose more of a wheat or muted blue than a tan with her coloring. Otherwise I think she looked great. The cake was not for her birthday, though she got to cut it because it AS her birthday. The cake was to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the National Parks, which is why it looks so odd. They just happened to be there on her birthday.
It does not look pleated it seems to be wrinkled so it looks like a petticoat. The color combination does not mesh either IMO

It is pleated. She's worn the outfit a few times and I've never liked the color of the jacket with her coloring. Seen from the side or the back the jacket looks comfortable and is a very nice fit, but as I said above I'd choose a different color. Perhaps even in a navy blue or red. I have always liked the skirt.
@Princess Cassandra- Agree that it's a pleated skirt and a blue or red jacket would be a good pairing.
A navy blue jacket would look too much like a uniform IMO, especially as the skirt is pleated, but a torquoise or sky blue would look nice I think. Or even green.

Lots of colors would go with a crisp white skirt, and I do like the cut of the jacket. Usually I like her clothes - very age appropriate but nicely designed. I cringe when I see the Duchess of York in clothes too short and too tight, because she, too, is a very attractive, mature woman.

Philip, Camilla & Kate are the only spouses who get bells for their birthday, since they are the spouses of the monarch/future monarch.

Just had a peek at the very lovely photo of Camilla that was shared on the KP Twitter feed. :Jen:
I believe there was a photo of Camilla with some very sweet donkeys in the DM. At a donkey sanctuary? It seems to have been a successful mini tour of Wales. Soon be holiday time at Birkhall.

I saw the pictures, too. I'm not sure if it was the Cornwall tour or the Wales tour, but both of them were successful, I think. I'm glad they received some attention - I'd rather see pictures of a tour and the people they met than the drama that sometimes dominates. And when there are animals in the pictures, so much the better!!!
Queen Elizabeth II extended an invitation to Uncle Edward (Edward VIII) to attend the investure of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales. The inevitable press speculation which even the Duke's presence would arouse, would Edward being there damage Charles' big day?
Around that time, Charles was seen with Wallis, Duchess of Windsor greeting each other cordially. Edward had health problems by then and did not travel much. I don't see how he would "damage" Charles' day.
They sent Edward a courtesy invitation with no expectation that he would attend IMO. He was in bad health, had trouble with his eyes for years. Perhaps he thought there would be a mention of the coronet from his own installation as POW in 1911! He snaffled the rather battered looking old coronet when he left England in 1936, along with a lot of other things he shouldn't have taken.

OH what was the trouble wthi his eyes?
Through the middle 1960's Edward wore dark glasses a lot. He had an operation for a detached retina in the London Clinic in 1965, no fun for a man who by the had multiple health problems, including an arthritic hip. I think the Queen visited him after that op.

I seem to remember this now. thanks. It was something in a book by one of the old journalists who followed the royals back in the 70s - I think the story was that this photographer or journalist saw the Duke (who was in London for the operation).. He saw the Duke... in the loo of a hotel ? and followed him - to the DOW's fury...
Well, that would certainly be a bit embarrassing, and a not very salubrious locale for an attempted interview!
There were photos of the Duke of Windsor attending the funeral of his sister Princess Mary. THis was in the sixties and he was wearing dark glasses because of his ongoing eye troubles.

There was some other story I think about Philip running into a journalist.. but I think that "meeitng in a gents" was the only place that journalists might see a Royal when he was at a disadvantage...
I don't think they thought of them as "having interviews" but the wreteched royals felt hunted and furious.
I miss this blog site which focused solely on royal fashion.
Here is a recap of Camilla's wedding outfits that day.
The Royal Order of Sartorial Splendor: Readers? Top 10 Wedding Gowns: #7. The Duchess of Cornwall (http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2012/10/readers-top-10-wedding-gowns-7-duchess.html)
For the civil wedding....
QuoteCharles and Camilla?s wedding day, April 9, 2005, took place in two parts. First, the bride had her bridal white moment at Windsor Guildhall for the civil service. Her white dress featured large cream disks for embellishment at the bottom and was worn under an oyster silk basket weave coat with a Prince of Wales feathers brooch at her lapel and a large Philip Treacy hat. The practical bride has reworn all the pieces of this look in public since the wedding.
For the blessing service at St. George's Chapel
QuoteLater, the couple headed to St. George?s Chapel inside the Windsor Castle grounds for the blessing service. Sartorially, this was the trickiest part, as anything too white, too poufy, or too grand would just not do. So they went in the other direction: a sleek blue and gold damask coat, just a hint of a train, and just a touch of embellishment at the collar in gold embroidery in a design inspired by a jewel in the collection of Camilla's late mother. The coat was worn over a soft blue chiffon dress. She accessorized with a small bouquet of flowers and a gold headdress (again, from Treacy) standing in for a tiara.

QuotePrince Charles and his bride, who is to be known as the Duchess of Cornwall and who is now the second most senior female member of the royal family, emerged from Windsor Guildhall at around 12.50pm with their arms linked.
It was all very different from previous royal weddings, but the couple were greeted in the high street with cheers from some of the up to 20,000 well-wishers who had come to Windsor.
The civil ceremony, attended by just 28 guests, was not witnessed by the Queen but she later attended a televised blessing service at St George's chapel in nearby Windsor Castle.
After this service, the new dutchess, now an HRH, was officially pictured for the first time alongside the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, Princes William and Harry and other royals. Some analysts said the day marked the moment when the couple's relationship had "come out of the shadows".
The dedication service in the chapel was led by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, and attended by a congregation of around 800 guests, including family and friends and VIPs including the prime minister, Tony Blair.

I though that the colour of Cam's wedding dress could have been a bit livelier.. but it was a nice outfit. I think she looked more interesting, in that than in her first wedding dress than when she was a young woman.

Looking back through the wedding photo's of fifteen years ago (!!!) I realize that she was happy but nervous and scared that day. She is used to all the attention now, of course, but she is not one who cultivates the limelight. It's one of the many things I like about her.
I was in the US at the time of their marriage, visiting friends. I saw a bit of the reporting of the wedding and some US commentators couldn't get over her headpiece. One of them said she was wearing spears of wheat on her head! Female friends of my friend also commented on it. Because hats and fascinators aren't usually worn at American weddings I don't think people there 'get it'.

Many of them don't get it. I've been to a few weddings at which I was the only one wearing a hat. Nothing makes you feel dressed completely for a special occasion like the right hat. I've purchased all my hats in the UK.....there just are no appropriate ones here.

Probably not the right thread to approach this but, Charles has always cut in his mature life a very dapper figure in elegant Saville Row suits. Formal wear rather than casual has always been his forte.
However, IMO, in his seventies many of his trademark suits have started to look just a little frayed and a bit old, giving Charles the more typical look of an old man whose personal appearance is starting to look a little shabby. IMO this would be a good time for his valets to go through the closets and pick out the more well-worn suits and give them away. About four or five new ones would reinvigorate his look, I believe.
I have already wished Charles a Happy Birthday. I wish him too a less busy run-up to Xmas. However, with his mother probably out of action for the rest of 2021, that?s not likely to occur, I?m afraid.

This is my favorite picture of Charles, a huge happy smile on his face, shoes off and just enjoying whomever he is with. I love the informal Charles the best, he certainly has become a handsome man in his age. I bet he is one loving and caring family man when home with all those grandchildren around him begging for his attention and a treat hidden in a pocket somewhere.

SHE?S become a somewhat reluctant cover girl at the age of 75.
So when Duchess of Cornwall was asked to guest edit - and star on the cover of - Country Life magazine, there was only one person she wanted to take the pictures... her daughter-in-law.
The shot taken by the Duchess of Cambridge appears in the July edition of the publication, just ahead of Camilla?s landmark birthday on July 17.
It was taken at Ray Mill House, Camilla?s country retreat in Lacock, Wiltshire. She bought the six-bedroom property, 17 miles from the Prince of Wales? Highgrove home, after her divorce from Andrew Parker Bowles in the mid-1990s.
The cover image shows a relaxed and smiling duchess, wearing a blue and white floral dress and cardigan with minimal jewellery (as well as her trusted Fitbit fitness tracker). A keen gardener, she is sitting, smiling and relaxed, holding a trug filled with pelargoniums.
A royal source told the Mail that it had been the Duchess of Cornwall?s idea to ask Kate to take her portrait and that she had been ?delighted? to agree.
Would love to see that picture. Catherine has taken some great pictures of her children. Wonderful to see such a good relationship between them.
Front cover of the magazine (The resolution isn't great because the idea is to purchase the magazine, hence the ladybug is very difficult to find, there's a contest to whomever finds it with a set of rules to win)
And inside the mag there's another picture of Camilla also taken by Kate.
In another related note, USA Newsweek spotted a ladybug 🐞 in the front cover. (Ladybugs symbolism to everything environmentally friendly) Newsweek has extended an invitation to Kate for a front cover photoshoot of whatever her liking. Will she accept? Maybe, IF/WHEN of something of real worth to a very important cause. Maybe not? It's USA not the UK and her main is the UK (and the Commonwealth)

That is the real Camilla, one who loves being in her home, taking care of it and the garden, eating beans on toast and hot tea....Oh I so envy that, I love being in the country with all the trees and grass and just lots of animals, be they skunks or racoons and my dogs.....Catherine is a darn good with a camera. Now to find that magazine here in the states.......that is one that I would really love to have.
The Duchess will celebrate her milestone birthday this evening with a small family dinner hosted by the Prince of Wales at his Highgrove home in Gloucestershire.

To mark His Majesty The King's 75th birthday, The Prince's Foundation is hosting a celebratory event at Highgrove Gardens on Monday for individuals and organisations also turning 75 in 2023. There will be tea, a rock choir and, of course, cake!
The King will host a reception at Buckingham Palace on 14th November to celebrate nurses and midwives working in the United Kingdom. The event will form part of the #NHS75 celebrations and falls on HM 75th birthday.

Oh but it hasn?t been two weeks since the Express was insisting in half a dozen articles linked here that King Charles had invited the Sussexes and was holding out an olive branch hoping they would come. Then it was found out via the couple that Charles hadn?t issued an invitation at all, so now the Express is stating that Charles is ?relieved? that Harry and Meghan aren?t coming. This is after the truth came out that no invitation had been issued anyway.
That trashy tabloid (along with all the others) is a disgrace that regularly contradicts itself sometimes twice in the one day. As is Neil Sean the gossip raker, who doesn?t know what he?s talking about either. Anybody who believes anything in these articles or from Sean has a half a pea for a brain!
Happy 75th Birthday to King Charles III. :bday7:

The thing is that Harry after Megxit would spill the beans to any media outlet, people will not forget him running to Gayle King immediately after his grandfather's funeral.
This could possibly be the case of 'The boy who cried wolf', which may mean he didn't alert the media this time round, the media inventing stories. I tend to believe what I said a few days ago, he (and Meghan) tell a story, then pretend it wasn't from their team and deny the story - this comes from RR's who have received info from a 'reliable source' associated with the Sussexes - they run with it to then fall into a trap of a denial from the couple themselves. It's a form of PR marketing ploy to keep their names in the paper associated to the BRF and 'disrupt' the event of the day, in this case KCIII birthday.
Even the BBC today claims a source told them that Harry is planning to call his father today - this is tied to the latest from Montecito that the couple are begging to come back to the fold - money wise it is not going well, they are indebted USD28Million, they have no income since the infamous Spotify redundancy. This may well be also part of the insert a story, then deny the story.
The hermit lives they live makes it difficult for the media to rely on stories. Perhaps one day they will just stop. I know some big outlets have fallen into this game, and seem to have stopped. So it is run to 'another big outlet' until no more outlets available. For the BBC to do so today, it seems like the 'last bastion'.
