Title: Crown of Saint Stepohen

The crown of Stephen (Istvan) I, the first king of Hungary, marks the beginning of Hungarian statehood.   
The date is given as Christmas 1000 or January 1, 1001.     
The crown was first called the Holy Crown in 1256.

Stephen was canonized and made a saint in the Roman Catholic Church.

it is one of the more ancient crowns and compares with the magnificent Hapsburg/Holy Roman Emperors crown for its historic significance

The Crown of Saint Stephen was returned to Hungary.
