A thread to discuss the Last Days, Death, Lying in State and Funeral of HM QEII

The Queen cancels Privy Council meeting on doctor?s advice ? Royal Central
Palace says and will taking virtually meeting per medical doctors advice what best for HM Queen Elizabeth II health sake

QuoteThe Queen has cancelled a planned meeting of the Privy Council on medical advice.

Her Majesty had been due to hold a meeting on the evening of September 7th 2022 but, just before it was set to start, Buckingham Palace confirmed doctors had advised rest.

Royal officials said ?After a full day yesterday, Her Majesty has this afternoon accepted doctors? advice to rest. This means that the Privy Council meeting that had been due to take place this evening will be rearranged.?

The meeting was due to take place virtually.

The Queen had spent the previous day overseeing the appointment of a new Prime Minister. Her Majesty had welcomed Boris Johnson to Balmoral to formally accept his resignation before meeting his successor, Liz Truss, and asking her to form a government.

The Queen looked well at the time and seemed in good form as she smiled at the politician who had just become her fifteenth Prime Minister.

Yesterday was a busy day for HMQ. Medical advice to rest is in good order. She looked awfully frail yesterday. If necessary, I hope she can rest and recover over the next few days or weeks.

Nightowl

I hope she stays at Balmoral the rest of her life, everything and everybody can just come to her and be patient.  Fall is coming and time maybe for a ride in a buggy around the lands to view the animals such as the deer and horses, and check out the foliage. a warm fire and hot tea and her dogs, prop up the feet and let the world go by...that is my wish for her.  She deserves it and more....above all, family members make peace and create less stress as stress is a killer on our older loved ones, as I well know.

A statement from Buckingham Palace | The Royal Family

QuoteFollowing further evaluation this morning, The Queen?s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty?s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.

The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.

Update-The Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and Duke/Duchess of Cambridge are headed to Balmoral today.

I have to say that an official statement from BP accompanied by a statement that the Charles, Camilla, William and Catherine are on their way to Balmoral is concerning.

The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime.

My thoughts - and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom - are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.
Liz Truss, PM

My prayers, and the prayers of people across the @churchofengland and the nation, are with Her Majesty The Queen today.

May God?s presence strengthen and comfort Her Majesty, her family, and those who are caring for her at Balmoral

Royal Family update: The Earl and Countess of Wessex are travelling to Balmoral. Princess Anne is already there as she had engagements in Scotland this week. The Duke of York is also making his way up to Scotland.

This is very concerning indeed. HM may still rally though, as so many elderly people do. Thoughts and prayers are needed at this time, and I?m sure that the people of the UK,, Commonwealth and many others around the world are praying that the Queen will continue to be with us.

Other family members, including the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Princess Anne, and Prince Andrew are either travelling to or already at Balmoral.

As @Curryong stated the Queen might rally however it is very concerning that all four children and William/Catherine are headed to see her. It's possible that she is going to consider having Charles as Prince Regent for the remainder of her reign/life.

Perhaps she will. However if she is compos mentis she will issue an LP to that effect. If HM is unconscious that wouldn?t be possible.

Not good, unless the BBC is jumping the gun. Unlikely.

There was an announcement in the House of Commons by the Speaker a couple of hours ago but apparently half the House knew news from Balmoral was afoot anyway as pieces of paper were being passed around between MPs before that.

During the autumn and winter months the Changing of the Guard at BP only occurs on three days a week. And Thursday isn?t one of them.

Of more concern is the BBC?s behaviour. Traditionally the BBC is one of the first conduits to be informed by BP of death and funeral arrangements. So the wearing of black by all correspondents is a worrying sign.
