Prince William marked the first year of his Homewards initiative by returning to the London Borough of Lambeth where he launched it. In a speech he reiterated his belief that homelessness can be ended and said the ideas and approaches being developed in the six target areas "will have the power to inspire change across the UK and beyond".

PrincessOfPeace

The Prince of Wales has attended a special event to mark the first year of Homewards, The Royal Foundation's five-year programme working to demonstrate that together it is possible to end homelessness, making it rare, brief and unrepeated.

Homewards is working with six flagship locations across the UK - Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, Lambeth in London, Newport, Northern Ireland and Sheffield - to deliver and demonstrate innovative solutions that prevent and end homelessness.

By taking a transformative approach to the issue and putting collaboration at its heart, Homewards is showcasing what can be achieved through a collective effort.

Prince William will visit the @saatchi_gallery on September 5 to view Homelessness: Reframed, a groundbreaking exhibition to help the public better understand those who have experienced the issue as part of his @HomewardsUK initiative. It's free and definitely worth a view!

PrincessOfPeace

Since its opening on Aug. 7, Homelessness: Reframed has had over 25,000 visitors and the majority of those visitors have been between 25 to 34 years old.

Donations made by visitors have generated over £6,600, which is being divided equally between both Centrepoint and The Passage, two charities that help the unhoused. Prince William is a patron of both organizations.

The Prince of Wales thanked artists for taking part in a groundbreaking homelessness exhibition as he sported his summer beard in public for the first time. The stubble was still in place as he toured Homelessness: Reframed, an exhibition that aims to give a fresh perspective on the issue, with sculptures, photographs and everyday objects given a new life by artists who may have slept rough

The Prince of Wales will visit Aberdeen on Thursday 19th September to meet with essential workers from across the homelessness sector in the local area and representatives from the
@HomewardsUK Aberdeen Coalition.
