The Coronation of Napoleon by Jacques Louis David | Oil Painting Information...   
From 1805 to 1807 Jacques Louis David painted The Coronation of Napoleon.     
Even though Letizia Bonaparte did not attend her son's coronation as Emperor, David included her in the painting.

the most significant thing commemorated in this famous painting is of course that Napoleon takes the crown from the Popes hands and crowns himself -

The official title of the painting is Consecration of the Emperor Napoleon I and Coronation of the Empress Josephine in the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris on 2 December 1804.
