Infanta Leonore's Confirmation is very close to the Confirmation of Prince Christian of Denmark.

She was confirmed in 2015.  Sofia was confirmed in 2017

Infanta Sof?a's First Communion: A low-key class affair in school uniform like her sister's

Princess Leonor, heir to the Spanish throne, has celebrated her first communion in a low-key ceremony that broke with tradition.

First communions have long been major social occasions for the Spanish crown. The event has always been held in the royal palace, with nobody else receiving the sacrament at the same event.

Since King Felipe VI came to the throne last year, he has sought to open up the monarchy and bring it closer to
Leonor, aged 9, took communion Wednesday at a suburban Madrid church wearing her school uniform and accompanied by two dozen classmates.

The king and Queen Letizia were also present, as were former monarchs Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia.

Actually the girls had their First Communion in 2015 and 2017 when in primary school. Confirmation is a separate sacrament for Roman Catholics and typically it's bestowed in secondary school. So by the end of the months she'll have received her fourth sacrament as I presume she had her First Confession/Reconciliation prior to her First Communion.

Slimmed down confirmation set for Princess Leonor ? Royal Central

Quotehe Princess of Asturias will be confirmed into the Catholic Church in a simple ceremony alongside her classmates.

Leonor?s confirmation will take place on May 28th 2021 at the same church where she made her First Communion, at Our Lady of Aravaca in Madrid.

The ceremony, a year earlier than expected, will be scaled back for all those taking part, because of restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Leonor is currently studying at the Santa Maria of Rosales school in the Spanish capital. However, she is due to move to Wales this autumn to complete her secondary education at UWC Atlantic College.

There will be limits on the numbers of guests each pupil can invite meaning it is likely only Leonor?s parents, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, and her sister, Infanta Sofia, will be able to attend the service.

The Princess of Asturias was baptised on January 14th 2006 at the Zarzuela Palace in Madrid with her paternal grandparents, King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, as her godparents.

Not the same thing?  Oh..... :girlblush:

No and please don't be embarrassed. It can be confusing especially since the RC and Anglican churches do have much in common.  :high5:

Video of the Royal Family arriving at the church today and reportedly King Felipe is her sponsor for the sacrament. A sponsor would be a confirmed Roman Catholic who is present with the person who is wishing to be confirmed in their faith.  Small difference that I noticed between the U.S. and Spain: In the U.S. we were discouraged from having a  parent or grandparent as sponsor but siblings were acceptable. Typically they'd ask for a Godparent or another family friend to act as the sponsor. In Spain, Leonor could have her father as sponsor. Also in U.S. many parishes still uses robes in either white or red or you were asked to wear a little white or red if you were in dressy day clothing. Leonor was wearing blue and her father wore a matching color for his tie.

I wonder if Princess Leonor chose a Confirmation name when she received the sacrament. I know that here in the United States when a Roman Catholic is confirmed, he/she is religiously required to select a Confirmation name.

:bday: Happy Birthday to Queen Sofia.

As she celebrates her 83rd birthday, Queen Sof?a of Spain doesn?t slow down ? Royal Central

QuoteAs she marks her 83rd birthday, Queen Sof?a of Spain isn?t showing any signs of being willing to slow down her agenda.

Last year, Her Majesty celebrated her 82nd birthday a couple of weeks after watching her granddaughter hand out the most restricted Princess of Asturias Awards, which, for the first time, were not held in the usual Campoamor Theatre but in the Covadonga Hall of the Reconquista Hotel in the Asturian capital of Oviedo.

In between the two Princess of Asturias award ceremonies, Her Majesty has carried out a number of engagements, both on behalf of the Crown and for her own foundation patronages.

In the fall of 2020, the Reina Sof?a Foundation launched Operation Cold to equip food banks with fridge trucks and storage facilities to provide users with fresh produce in addition to products that are less perishable.

Following the start of this initiative, the Queen toured lots of food banks that adhered to the project to visit and see first hand the impact this initiative was having on the population, in a moment in which more people than ever are relying on such help to survive the economic and social toll the prolonged shutdown had on their livelihoods.

Her Majesty also continued to work for the other two areas she is most involved with: rare diseases, cancer being among her primary focuses, and the environment.

Queen Sof?a took part in a series of conferences and events that highlighted the technological, medical and research progress made in medical science and handed out prizes to associations that work in the sector. She also took part in litter cleanup days to celebrate critical environmental milestones (such as World Earth Day) and give the areas back to their legitimate users, whether they are wildlife or people.

A look back on King Felipe?s busy year ? Royal Central

QuoteKing Felipe of Spain celebrates his 54th birthday in a rare break from tradition. Because 30 January falls on a Sunday, he will not be working, as he has done most years since becoming an actively working member of the Royal Family.

He will have more time to reflect on the year that has passed, and we will undertake the task with him.

He began his 54th year of life by celebrating the 40th anniversary of the failed General Tejero coup, which his father prevented from succeeding, in a sombre ceremony at the Spanish Parliament.

He handed out prizes, visited plants, opened museums and exhibitions, celebrated key milestones for Spanish societal pillars, and gave his all to contribute to a recovery that is still uncertain.

Among this year?s engagement, the most notable is the official visit to the Principality of Andorra; it was one of the first out-of-country visits in Europe since the beginning of the pandemic, and it gave the signal for other realities to slowly do the same.
