Prince Edward Opens South Essex College

QuoteHRH The Earl Of Wessex officially opened South Essex College's new Thurrock Campus today.

The Grays town centre site was treated to a visit by the Earl, who unveiled a plaque to officially mark the opening of the £45 million building.

The Earl was escorted around the College by Principal and Chief Executive, Angela O'Donoghue and Chairman of the Corporation of South Essex College, Mr Richard Launder.

Professional Cookery students put together a buffet lunch for the VIP guest. The Earl also toured some vocational course workshops including Costume and Set Design, Painting and Decorating and Carpentry and Joinery.

The Earl spent time talking to students plus academic and support staff, asking them their views on the new College.
