Title: The other royal Kates – the first Queen Katherine of England
Post by: PrincessOfPeace on July 20, 2014, 10:15:26 PM
QuoteThe Duchess of Cambridge prefers to be known as Catherine and her husband never calls her anything else when he talks about her.  But despite that, the short version of her name is often used.  And because of that, Kate is now one of the best known royal names in the world.

But the Duchess of Cambridge isn't the first royal Kate.  Not by a long way.  And all of them have fascinating stories to tell.  This new series begins with a Katherine from the 15th century, the first Kate to be Queen of England.

QuoteThe Duchess of Cambridge is often called Kate, making it one of the best known royal names in the world right now.  The monarchy's history is filled with queens and princesses called Catherine and this series looks at the other royal Kates – from the most famous to those that history has forgotten.  In the spotlight this time are some of the princesses who were much loved daughters, if only briefly.  This part of the series is about the Kates whose stories ended too soon.
