I agree.  Her jacket would have been much better suited to a pair of trousers.  Love all of Mary's clothes, but she really can't put them together to save her life.

I don't like the skirt she's wearing but, for me, it doesn't have anything to do with it not pairing well with the jacket. I think the skirt looks a bit childish for a woman her age though.
