Corsham Court is in the town of Corsham, England. It is the home of the Methuen family.
It was a Royal Manor in the days of the Saxon Kings.
The present building is based upon an Elizabethan manor dating from 1582.
Capability Brown designed the gardens.

I love the manor houses of England. To me they often typify those aspects of traditional England that foreigners in particular associate with the country. They are often cosier somehow that the larger country houses and the gardens are usually wonderful.

Whose gardens/Parks weren't designed by Capability?   :D  He was enormously popular and influential and he certainly got around, considering how uncomfortable and inconvenient travel was in those days.
