King Willem-Alexander visits site of deadly train crash ? Royal Central

King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands travelled to Voorschoten to visit the site of the deadly crash that involved two trains and a crane.

His Majesty arrived on site on the morning of 4 April, just a few hours after the crash took place, at roughly 3:25 am local time.

According to the first accounts, both the passenger train and the goods train collided with a crane used for repairs on two of the four rail tracks in that segment. The passenger train collided with the crane first, splitting in half; one coach slid down a nearby grass slope, taking down one of the power lines.

Queen Maxima visits Milan Design Week ? UFO No More

On Tuesday, Queen Maxima visited Milan Design Week to support Dutch designers.

She first visited an innovative urban park in Isola which has been designed here by the Dutch landscape architect Petra Blaisse. She also met Dutch designers and labels at the Circolare expo square designed by Studio MAST.

Maxima's always had a rather "eclectic" sense of fashion, but this coat is definitely an interesting look. Maxima's hair is probably rather thin and doesn't "behave" with the Netherland's windy climate.

And it's King's Day today in The Netherlands! The Dutch Royal Family : W-A, Maxima, Amalia, Ariane, Constantijn and Laurentian as well as all four cousins and their wives were in Rotterdam for the celebrations. Alexia is still at school in Wales. This is not only the King's birthday but his ten year anniversary on the throne is also being celebrate.  Crowds were reportedly so large and that city had to request that no one else showed up after awhile. As usual it's loud, colorful and very active with the family participating in may activities.

What a lovely photo of the former Queen, the King and the Princess of Orange. It's hard to believe that ten years have gone by since the abdication and investiture.

May 4 is Remembrance Day in The Netherlands. The King and Queen were at the Dam Square in Amsterdam for the traditional wreath laying and two minutes of silence.
