I'm posting this with a fair amount of skepticism. However if it turns out to be true, then I hope that the extended York/Mapelli-Moza/Brooksbanks family enjoy their Christmas together at Sandringham's Wood Farm'   :snowflake: :xmas5:

Fergie 'invited to spend Christmas with the Royal Family for first time since splitting from Andrew' | Daily Mail Online

Nightowl

I for one hope it is true, I always thought it was cruel to keep her away from her children during the holidays as that is a time of compassion and love.....some in the royal family did not understand that.  At least Sarah never shouted to the world that she hated the royal family for doing that, she kept her mouth shut at least.  I don't like some of the things that she did over time yet I understand how insecure and needy she was, still no excuse yet she and Andrew raised 2 very kind beautiful girls who have worked and accomplished their own lives without backing from the royal family.  I hope they have a very joyous happy holiday together with lots of babies running around and cookies in hands of all those babies.

So the Yorks are all cosy together in Prince Philip?s old haunt Wood Farm, where he lived before getting gravely ill. And Fergie is forgiven and brought back into the fold! Of course Diana had to eat her Xmas dinner alone without her boys on a few occasions after her separation as well.

I'm pretty sure Fergie has stayed at Wood Farm in the distant past before PP moved in as per reported - retirement, to be close to her daughters during the festive period.

William and Kate have also stayed at Wood Farm during their 8 year courtship hosting shooting parties. There's plenty of pictures of both there stays at Balmoral and at Sandringham estates.

I've also read it is a guest house. That PP took it to permanently live there during his retirement is of a different use to what is was and is.

Why would HMKCIII not give use as it was, a guest house with 5 bedrooms?

The BRF haven't been at the Sandringham estate since the pandemic broke. Normalizing routine/life again.

In reference to the Sandringham estate, during the pandemic PP was still at Wood Farm, when ''full'' lockdown came into place in the UK, he was moved to Windsor Castle with the Queen.  The Cambridge's moved before ''full'' lockdown took place to Anmer Hall/Sandringham estate.

The pandemic from lockdown to full lockdown took place in every country worldwide.  ''Most'' of the countries did it WHO textbook recommendations, meaning and in other words giving 3 days/72 hours for people to mobilize to their 'permanent' home if within the country or availability rules from one country to another to fly out immediately.  Stats indicate the FULL lockdown happened the month of March and Early April differeing from one country to another. Of course there are about a dozen countries that did it different to the WHO recomendations, but the UK wasn't one of them.

Diana has also stayed at Wood Farm before marrying into the family.

From what I recall the Queen continued to invite Diana to Sandringham after the Wales announced their separation in 1992 and even after the Panorama interview which aired in November 1995.  However Diana declined the invitation in 1995.

QuoteDiana canceled plans to spend Christmas with Prince Charles and her in-laws, Buckingham Palace announced Monday. That means for the first time, she will be away from her sons, princes William and Harry, for the holiday.

Instead of going to Sandringham, Queen Elizabeth II?s estate in Norfolk, 100 miles from London, Diana will take a private holiday, the palace said

Sarah Ferguson will not spend Christmas with the royals ? details | HELLO!

So all the recent tabloid stories that she was to go to Sandringham and where the Yorks? accommodation would be was just journalists exercising their imaginations? Well, blow me down!

Did Princess Diana ever spend Christmas with her sister Lady Sarah or with her sister Lady Jane?

The royal reason a Christmas tree stands in London?s Trafalgar Square ? Royal Central   :xmas10:

QuoteEvery year since 1947, a 20-metre tall tree has been donated to the British as a thank-you from Norway. Now, that tree shines in London?s Trafalgar Square every holiday season.

The tree was given to thank the British for their support during World War II. In April 1940, Germany invaded Norway and attempted to capture King Haakon VII, the royal family, and other members of the Norwegian government. The King then sought refuge in Lonon and led the resistance there. After Norway was liberated in 1945, the Norwegians returned home on the HMS Norfolk.

While the tree was first displayed in 1947, the tradition of giving Britain the tree started in 1943. Norweigan underground fighters gave the tree as a symbol of their gratitude. There were actually three trees ? one for the Norwegian King, one for the Norweigan Embassy, and the other to go on display in Trafalgar Square. It was only after the war, in 1947, the sentiment took precedence, and the customs currently associated with it began.

The tree is typically a Norwegian spruce (Picea abies) over 20 metres high, and about 50 to 60 years old. It is selected from the forests surrounding Oslo with great care, sometimes several years in advance. The Norwegian foresters who take care of the tree often describe it as ?the queen of the forest.?

The tree is felled in November during a ceremony in which the British ambassador to Norway joins the Mayor of Oslo and the Lord Mayor of Westminster. Brought over to the UK by sea, the tree completes its journey by lorry. Once at its destination, a specialised rigging team puts the tree in Trafalgar Square using a hydraulic crane. Of course, there needs to be decorations. The tree is decorated in traditional Norweigan fashion with a vertical string of energy-efficient lights.

If someone can post the archive.ph file of The Telegraph article written by Queen Camilla (It's old dated 2020, but I think as it has been posted again - circulating to a point of trending in SM, the silver lining message is still important for 2022)

Please and Thanks

Thanks, heartbreaking (lockdown story and silver lining charity for lonely people) to now a days the crisis and cost of living/electricity and gas and there's a huge snow blizard going on in the UK.  Estimation that lonely old people may perish.

QuoteKing Charles, feverishly working on his first Christmas broadcast, is seeking guidance not from his mother ? the late Queen ? but from his grandfather George VI. 'He has been inspired by the memory of his grandfather,' royal historian Hugo Vickers tells Radio Times. 'He cannot do things exactly the same way as Elizabeth II, but George VI was his last male predecessor as king and so a good role model.' He adds: 'Let us hope the benign example of his grandfather does indeed inspire him.'
