^^^I agree @sandy and as we all know she was inspired to redecorate and refurnish the White House with authentic American pieces. Her interest in preserving and celebrating two unique examples of American architecture were a part of her passions. After life in the White House fishbowl, she preferred to keep the her life private.

Did not know all that about Jackie O. Maybe I was a bit harsh describing her as glorified Stepford Wife.

well she wasnt' a glorified stepford wife.  Equally she wasn't a woman with political or big "ideas".  She was a farily typical "society woman"... and didn't like being a political wife.  She cherished her privacy and preferred the quiet life she had in later years to the being the President's wife.
