Title: Felipe and Letizia Join Forces to Welcome the Chilean president to Madrid
Post by: cinrit on October 30, 2014, 11:06:47 AM
QuoteThey might have been waiting for Michele Bachelet, the well-respected President of Chile, but Spain's King Felipe and Queen Letizia only had eyes for each other.

As they stood on the red carpet outside the El Pardo Palace awaiting Ms Bachelet, the couple, who married in 2004, exchanged loving glances - and continued to do so long after the South American premier had made her entrance.

Later, the pair stood side by side as they took a salute from the guard of honour laid on for Ms Bachelet who was making her first visit to Spain since being elected president in March.

QuoteQueen Letizia rarely wears tiaras, so whenever she does wear one of the irreplaceable crown jewels, we all get a bit exited.

On Wednesday, Queen Letizia finally had one of her stunning tiara moments when she and King Felipe hosted a gala dinner in honour of the new President of Chile, Michele Bachelet, who is on her first state visit to Spain since being elected earlier this year.

At the gala dinner, Queen Letizia sported one of her favourite tiaras – her second most-worn tiara, the Spanish Floral Tiara.

I wonder when she might opt for one of the larger ones in the collection? My other favorite is the Mellerino Shell/Wave tiara.
