Thank you, that is a really interesting article, I have liked all those wiser long lived royal cousins of HM for a long time now.  They truly have the experience to guide the younger royals and hopefully they will listen as all those years of working for HM they have tons of knowledge and helpful advice to give.

Having last visited Rutland in 2021, His Royal Highness travelled to sites of significant local interest at Ryhall, South Luffenham and Ketton.

The visit began at Ryhall Hall, a Grade II* Listed building and private home. There, His Royal Highness was welcomed by Cllr Andrew Brown (Chairman of Rutland County Council), Mr Nick Gilchrist and Mrs Janine Gilchrist (owners of Ryhall Hall) and Mr Andrew Nebel MBE (Ryhall Parish Councillor).

After learning about Ryhall Hall?s medieval, Elizabethan and Jacobean history, His Royal Highness was escorted to the nearby St John?s Church by Reverend Jo Saunders. While at the Church, His Royal Highness was introduced to Wardens Win Peck and Marion Taylor, before hearing about restoration work and future renewal projects being led by Dr Sandra McCune.

St John?s Church recently celebrated the completion of a new church roof, after the building was placed on Historic England?s at-risk register. This work was only made possible thanks to extensive fundraising efforts by the local community.

From St John?s Church, His Royal Highness was escorted to the Green Dragon Public House, where he was introduced to Mr Simon Lambert and Mrs Ania Lambert (Landlord and Landlady), together with Mrs Debbie Rolfe (Chair of Ryhall Parish Council) and Cllr David Wilby (Armed Forces Champion and Ward Member for Ryhall & Casterton).

The Duchess of Gloucester is awarded major promotion by The King after decades of quiet service ? Royal Central (https://royalcentral.co.uk/uk/gloucester/the-duchess-of-gloucester-is-awarded-major-promotion-by-the-king-after-decades-of-quiet-service-192173/)

QuoteAfter more than 30 years service as Deputy Colonel-in-Chief of the Adjutant General?s Corps, the Duchess of Gloucester has been promoted to Colonel-in-Chief of the military unit.

Following King Charles III?s Accession to the throne, His Majesty is honouring members of his family with new military appointments.

This includes the Duchess of Gloucester, who had been Deputy Colonel-in-Chief of the Adjutant General?s Corps since 1992.

Her appointment as Colonel-in-Chief comes as her husband, the Duke of Gloucester, is appointed Air Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force.

The Duke has been Patron of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force Foundation since 2012.

He is following in his mother?s footsteps as, Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, was Commandant of the Womens? Auxiliary Air Force from 1939 to 1944.

The new appointments have been made by The King as a clear sign that the close relationship between the Armed Forces and the Royal Family will continue in His Majesty?s reign.

Yes the Gloucesters are IMO one of the most overlooked members of the BRF but they seem to prefer to "fly under the radar." Neither Richard or Brigitta thought that they'd ever be performing royal duties when they married, but six weeks after their lives changed when Prince William of Gloucester was killed in a plane crash.

A brief history of the royal dukedom of Gloucester and its title holders. King Richard III is the most famous of the Dukes of Gloucester. When the current Duke's son inherits the title, it will cease to be a royal dukedom.

The royal dukedom once considered to carry a curse ? Royal Central (https://royalcentral.co.uk/uk/the-royal-dukedom-once-considered-to-carry-a-curse-193603/)

QuoteIt?s a title with a potent history, held by some of the best known names in English royal history. Over 700 years since it was first created, it remains a familiar royal dukedom.

There have been six Dukes of Gloucester throughout history, the first created in 1385 and the current having held the title since 1974. It has a long past, and some consider the title cursed due to its most famous titleholder, and that the first three men to hold it died without heirs.

If dying without heirs, or at least male heirs, was the curse of the Gloucester royal dukedom then the York dukedom is the holder of the Grand Trophy.
