Post by: wannable on September 26, 2019, 12:55:06 PM
Who is Edoardo
Quote
He is the son of former Olympic skier Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi and Nikki Shale, is a count himself, and has been a friend of the York children for some time before getting engaged to Beatrice.
He was educated at the prestigious Radley school in Oxfordshire before studying for a Master's in politics at Edinburgh.
His mother is Nikki Shale, who split with his count father when he was young.

And what Tiara will Princess Beatrice wear for her wedding?  :D

Perhaps its true they will marry in Italy (as per the news of Sarah spotted looking at wedding venues).  And probably a good idea, with what the circumstances of Brexit and Prince Andrew.

I liked very much that Edo's parents (happy and congratulations) were included in the Buckingham Palace announcement, and that the couple together with Eugenie and Jack (whom were at hand) when the couple got engaged in Italy a few weeks ago.

Eugenie's picture taking of the official engagement photos (in Italy during their holiday) are quite good and nice.

We have wait and see till confirmed from Buckingham Palace and Yorks to discuss to see the Beatrice but don?t think will have wedding in Italy too far for monarchy seriously kept underwraps guarded secret till her wedding day of Beatrice but HM Queen want see her granddaughter?s wedding day in Westminster Abbey or St George option but we have wait venue confirmation from Palace and York approves like Eugenie?s wedding day don?t say anything about that but Beatrice will chosen tiara kept underwraps till wedding day..🤐🤫

I think if there is a second ceremony in Italy it would and should be low key.

I think Bea would want very much to be married in the UK and probably in Windsor. It won't look good if she has this super spectacular wedding. She is a minor royal and minor royals weddings are not "simple" by any means.

Well it can't be both.  If it is a royal wedding and "Not simple" then presumably it is going to be a big thing.. and therefore spectacular.  ANd in the light of the whole Epstein fiasco.. I don't think it will go down well with the public if she even has one as fancy as Eugenies.

Like many I believe that Beatrice and Eduardo will marry at SG Chapel at Windsor. It's easier on her paternal grandparents and close to RL which is Andrew and Sarah's home.
I believe she will wear a tiara but perhaps it will be one from the vault that has not been worn in decades like we saw with Catherine, Meghan and Eugenie. :Jen:

But cant have two wedding between in London and Italy because HM Queen is head of state for goodness sake!! or Beatrice will lose her style titles like her mom the Duchess of York and late Diana,Princess of Wales but royals fans wanted glimpse of Beatrice?s wedding included Westminster Abbey,st.george?s chapel but Beatrice must kept her styles titles since she was born when her little sister Eugenie got married and kept styled titles..

I?m hope her dad the Duke of York will give Beatrice away no more drama on Epstein on Beatrice?s thread please!!

Probably the best location. It is not too big a place and the queen and Philip are close by.. but I think they should opt for keeping it as simple as possible.

But something tells me if her name had been Beatrice Smith he wouldn't have given her the time of day.

They will probably have a wedding at St. George's but if they do decide to have a 2nd ceremony in Italy, it wouldn't mean Beatrice looses her titles, why would it? She wouldn't even be out of the line of succession if it turns out he is a practicing Catholic these days.

If her name was Bea Smith he might not have given her the time of day but if his was Eddie Smith she probably wouldn't either, they're both marrying within their social circle.

Congratulations to Beatrice and Ed. They've known each other for years but dated for less than a year, so there is concern about that. However, I hope they will be happy. The Yorks would be well to keep this marriage simple and quiet. If Andrew insists on carriage rides and marching guardsmen he will be extremely foolish.

It will probably be St George's. While Beatrice's grandparents are still alive that's the most logical place and the most convenient. Wherever Beatrice gets married it make no difference to her titles at all. This isn't Sweden, where certain rules prevail about the keeping of royal titles, position within the family and so on.

And I can't see a wedding happening in Italy anyway. If Bea was a private citizen maybe, or marrying a member of the now defunct Italian Royal family, perhaps. Ed was brought up in Britain. He's based there as was his father for decades. There might be a few relatives left in Italy, cousins and so on, but they can just as well come to London for the wedding if he is still close to them.

The BBC correspondent here says the couple have been together for 'about two years' (which I don't believe as the news of their dating would have broken much earlier than late last year if they had.)

I'm so happy for Beatrice their engagement photos are beautiful they really look over the moon in love. I love the ring it sort of looks reminiscent of the Queen's ring classic and elegant. Now as for the wedding I think it will be at St. Georges logistically speaking it will be easier for The Queen and DOE to attend and her parents are based there. I hope she has a beautiful wedding along the lines of Eugenie's wedding not huge but a real family wedding.

Wow! I believe I have found the equivalent of the "Holy Grail" with 40 of the royal tiaras worn by the members of the BRF.

Yes that some of these are not going to be available to Beatrice for her wedding day, but here they are...
40 Exquisite Tiaras Owned By The British Royal Family | Harper's BAZAAR Australia (https://www.harpersbazaar.com.au/culture/british-royal-tiaras-18106)

Going to divide my tiara wishes into four categories:

Historic-Strathmore Rose tiara...rumored to be in pieces, but I'd love to see it on one of QEII's granddaughters or great granddaughters.  :Jen:

Expected:-York tiara worn by her mother Sarah, Duchess of York. Would also like to see this one again.

Surprise-Something created from older pieces to form a new York tiara-floral motif with a modern take on the white rose of York

Oh please no...Another new "craft project" like the one gifted to poor Sophie Rhys Jones. :eyes:

QuoteThis morning, Princess Beatrice announced her engagement to Italian property million Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi after just under one year of dating. Bookies are already taking bets on where the next Royal Wedding will be in 2020 - the fourth in just under two years - with Westminster Abbey currently in the lead with odds of 2/1.

Still thinking that it will be SGC at WC. WA is not likely to be a venue but wouldn't the historic York Minster be fabulous no matter how unlikely. (Beatrice unlike Katherine Kent didn't grow up in York.)

I think the punters will be losing their money big time if they think WA is going to be the location of Beatrice's wedding. Costs, not to mention the extra security rule that out IMO. Are they going to offer to pay for the expense of closing down the roads in part of central London for the occasion? And St Georges is quite near Royal Lodge.

As for the York tiara, if Beatrice doesn't wear it on the most important day of her life, my little theory of Fergie having flogged it privately years ago to a jeweller to help pay her debts really grows legs! That is, if Bea wears a tiara at all. The York girls don't mind taking a chance or two with their attire and of course, Eugenie went down the aisle sans veil.

It is very doubtful that she would be married at WA. Her parents were married there because Prince Andrew was the second son of the Queen.  Bea is way down in line of succession. I think there would be much criticism if they went there.

I agree @Curryong that the punters are going to face heavy losses. I really doubt that WA is even on the table as a wedding site. I understand that the Chapel Royal at SJP is very small so SGC seems like a fitting place for the ceremony. Also it allows for the post wedding afternoon reception to be at WC. IMHO Edward and Sophie's wedding in 1999 is the "blue print" going forward for the majority of BRF weddings if the couples wish to be closer to London.
While I don't think that a carriage ride is necessary, I believe that there will be one similar to Edward/Sophie and Eugenie/Jack's short trip through Windsor.

Beatrice's wedding might be around Easter time next year. The Queen generally holds court at Windsor at that time. Don't know whether it will be televised though. The BBC weren't keen last time for Eugenie and are hardly likely to be any more so for Beatrice. They might go the ITV route morning show route again if Andrew presses it but we'll see. There was talk on another forum of St James Chapel as a venue but that's quite a small Chapel and dark as well.

@Curryong -Are weddings generally delayed by the CoE during Lent and after Easter? I agree that after Easter is a likely timeframe.
Title: Re: Princess Beatrice and Count Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are engaged, wedding 2020

I think Lent is frowned on, still, and Good Friday and Easter Monday. The Easter Saturday would be fine, I think. (However, even in Queen Victoria's time she slapped down one of her clerics who didn't think Lent was a good time for a daughter's wedding!)

But I believe it will be St George's, in the way the RF does things the venue has already been booked for time and place, and the main priority is fixing it to fit with everyone's engagements. It's just more convenient when the Queen is at Windsor for a few weeks around Easter time, and so my guess is it will be then.

I doubt it will be quiet.  The photographers will be there, security will be there because senior members of the BRF will be there, the couple will take the 30 or 1 minute stop at departure for pictures to be taken, since security will be there, crowd barriers will be in place, meaning that the people won't be roaming or getting too close to the steps of St. George's...

Add to the security detail, the Queen will offer her grand daughter the lunch reception and her father will offer the evening reception/party.  None of this can be done without the 'brouhaha' of having external people work for this to happen.

Precisely with her father's controversy with Epstein, Bea's wedding WILL BE NEWS as opposed to NO NEWS (a celeb in turn news is not better for a media owner to whatever reporting controversial or not of Bea's wedding).

If I were the owner of any media site I WILL publish videos, pictures and the story line of the wedding, perhaps also will mention Andy's doings with Epstein.  The glossy magazines won't mention Epstein, i.e. Hello Magazine, People Magazine, Harpers Bazar, Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan.  The tabloids such as DM, The Sun, Mirror, Page Six, The Daily Beast and that sort will mention wedding plus Andy Epstein.

It seems to me that it has been the children of the monarch (the elder ones) whose weddings were big events. Princess Anne the first one married had a televised wedding. The ones at the top of the line of succession get the major coverage.
Title: Re: Princess Beatrice and Count Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are engaged, wedding 2020

Princess Margaret was the sister of the monarch. She had a big televised wedding, carriages, parade through the streets and all the rest of it. Admittedly, that was 1960.

Nevertheless, the window of the big televised weddings in WA for ALL senior royals, children of sovereign and a sibling has been very narrow.

Before George V, no film, no TV naturally, a few posed photos. Different wedding locations.

All of King George V's children, with the exception of the Duke of Windsor, were married in WA. Photos, Pathe news footage outside the Abbey --entries of the royal party and or bride alone was filmed, naturally no TV footage as it wasn't around.

The Queen and Margaret had WA weddings, no TV inside the Abbey for the Queen. The three eldest of the present Queen's children were married in the Abbey, the youngest at St George's because times had changed. All were televised.

We have now, slowly but surely, gone back to the tradition of non-WA weddings of Victoria's children and before. I think if the monarchy survives George will most likely get a televised ceremony in the Abbey, Charlotte a possibility at WA not more due to cost, Louis almost certainly not.

I think St George's will become the norm in the future. And after all, several of Victoria's children married there at a time when the BRF was at its peak of power and prestige.

I have some publications that were sold at the time of Margaret's wedding with photos of the wedding.. It was a big deal then. Margaret was also well covered by the media especially during the drama of her choosing whether or not to wed Townsend. After the breakup there was an apparent wish to give Margaret a "happy" marriage which she ultimately did not get.

Before King George?s passing away no televised inside the WA (Westminster Abbey) St.Pauls Cathedral and St.George?s Chapel after King George?s death change to televised on wedding and funeral

Westminster Abbey wedding televised
Prince Andrew know as Duke of York
Prince William know as Duke of Cambridge
Princess Margaret
Princess Anne

St.Paul?s Cathedral
Prince Charles of Wales

St.George?s Chapel
Prince Harry know as Duke of Sussex
Princess Eugenie
Peter Philips

Beatrice probably would like a wedding in Italy. However IMO she won't, as she wants her grandparents there (and there is no doubt that granny?s help is invaluable in keeping those costs down for a royal wedding.) However there no need for the Express to drag Ingrid Seward out of some back cupboard somewhere (yet another self-proclaimed 'Royal expert') to tell us the bleeding obvious, ie that the Queen won't fly at her age. Or for the newspaper to behave as if Ms Seward has just come back from a cuppa with HM and the Yorks knowing all the details of the forthcoming nuptials. Because she doesn't.

The Queen and PP are too old to fly those distances, stay at hotels, nothing familiar at all, main reason.

Edo and Bea can have a second wedding at Edo's estate chapel/reception if she wishes to have it with the guests they decide to invite, when people have 2 wedding events; usually a very small percentage of the guests have double invitations.

As long as the St. Georges wedding is signed sealed and delivered according to the UK COE and monarchy laws to whatever it entails to keep up with the Princess Title, etc. etc. etc. I see no problem with Bea's wishes to honour Edo's family ancestry.

I don't get why they need two weddings. His family can attend the one wedding in the UK. They could have a reception for them at another time but it's a bit much to me for them to have two ceremonies.  Charles and Camilla had the actual exchange of vows in  a civil ceremony then the Church Blessing. Bea and Edo could also opt for a  blessing ceremony in Italy.

Apparently Edo has more than Italian family ties, he's got lots of personal and work related relations in Italy. If you care to read more about him, his ties, his work, his website, his twitter handler, etc.  He has taken pride to keep his roots and friendships their.  I think he will have to reduce quite a lot his side of invitations if they decide to have only that 1 wedding at St. Georges.

They could also make a Italian party at his estate, rather than 2 weddings. Not the same, but heck a get together Italian party.

Perhaps something similar to what the Middleton's did? They had a separate party for those people they care about but couldn't invite them ''all'' to the wedding, reception 1 and 2, lunch and dinner party. The Goring Hotel in London was all booked by the Midds; they invited all of their friends, the butcher, baker and candlestick makers, also the workers and owners of Mustique Island were there. The wild party guests who went to reception 1 or 2, or both, ended up in the Goring party till the 'next day' 6 am. Not even the wee hours so to speak.

I do personally hope Edo and Bea decide to do something similar to all of Edo's Italian relationships.

I think the newspapers are just speculating. No doubt if Beatrice was just Lady Beatrice Blank Blank marrying an Italian Count then the wedding would probably be in the Ancestral estate in Italy. But she isn't, she's a granddaughter of the Queen, and Andrew is even now rubbing his hands together at the thought of his marching bearskins and the carriage ride and taking his daughter down the aisle of a chapel intimately connected with royalty for centuries, for the glory of him and his family. Beatrice seems like the sort of person who wants to please everyone and that includes her parents and grandparents. My bet is St George's followed by an Italian honeymoon.

Yeah but HM Queen makes decisions have one wedding not two wedding between Italy and UK both that ain?t option! HM Queen not sign for Italy wedding ceremony include the hotel, security and mores queen is private person who she is but she wanted see her grandchildren in wedding at London

NO! I told @Curryong on #48 explained end of discussion but HM Queen and Duke of Edinburgh too old for traveling but only one for wedding ceremony in London or Beatrice will lose titles option!! But UK government will not allowed HM Queen and Duke of Edinburgh to Italy for wedding

@sara8150 The Queen and in this case Andrew York will be paying (and deciding with the couple) everything, except for security (Met Police via tax payers), whatever Edo and Bea do outside from the Queen's offer (almost likely St. Georges Chapel and Frogmore House receptions) is Bea and Edo's decision, like the Middleton's did.

They (Mike and Carole) very likely notified the Queen about Goring Hotel in London, but the Midds ultimately paid for the entire booking of that hotel, the party, the Caribbean deco, etc. (including Kate's wedding dress), all in all with discounts it is speculated the Midds spent GBP 1 Million between Kate's 2 dresses and the Goring.  Edo can certainly do the same, but in Italy. The Queen (or Andrew) in this instance (Edo's wallet) has no say, they CAN advise, but at the end....perhaps since its a private estate, low profile a reduced amount of paparazzi pics.  The Goring Hotel was strictly closed only By Invitation (super private) to enter the place, but those guests that didn't use a private car to leave through the basement parking, and were seen leaving at 6, 7 and 8 a.m. looking worst for wear.  :hehe:  You can tell they had a blast of an evening before getting into a taxi. That is a reduced amount of pap pics.

I don't know where this thing about Beatrice losing her title as a Princess of the U.K. if she doesn't marry in Britain or in St George's in front of the Queen comes from. It is completely incorrect. Beatrice can marry in a castle in Italy, in a Las Vegas chapel or in an igloo in the Arctic if she wishes. She can marry with only her parents present or her sister and two other witnesses. It doesn't make any difference whatsoever to her title as Princess Beatrice. She keeps that title for life, wherever son whoever she marries.

Prince Michael of Kent married Marie-Christine in a British embassy abroad (I think it was Paris) and remains to this day Prince Michael of Kent. The Queen was not present at the ceremony.

Prince Alfred Duke of Edinburgh married the Tsar's daughter in Russia in the 1870s. His mother the Queen was not present at the ceremony. The Prince remained a Prince until he died.

The Duke of Windsor (briefly HRH Prince Edward before he got the Dukedom and after he abdicated) married abroad with no members of his family present. He remained a Prince, an HRH and a Royal Duke until the day he died.

So, whether Beatrice marries at St George's, WA (highly unlikely in my view) or in Italy or wherever,  she will remain a Princess for the rest of her life.

No! Well, the present Queen was on the throne for 25 years (a quarter of a century) when Prince Michael got married, she wasn't there and he married in Paris, not Great Britain, and yet is still Prince Michael the Queen's cousin.

And Queen Victoria was on the throne for about forty years when Alfred Duke of Edinburgh married, abroad and without her presence. He still remained a Prince and a Duke.

Please direct me to where you have taken the information from that states that Princes and Princess of the U.K. lose their titles if they don't wed in Britain and in front of the monarch. What legislation?

Link please.

I've got no doubt that Beatrice will marry in front of her grandparents and other relatives at St George's. But that will be because she wants to, not because she is being forced to or she will lose her titles.

And I am saying that both Beatrice and Eugenie could marry in Italy, on a Pacific Island or in an igloo in the Arctic if they had wanted to. It made/will make not one iota of difference to their titles as Princesses of York.

Again, I am asking for a link please to information that states that any of the Queen's relatives have to marry in front of the Queen in Britain. What you are stating is incorrect. I've given examples of royals who have married abroad and not lost their titles.

The Royal Marriages Act is irrelevant with regard to Beatrice's marriage. It is only the first half a dozen people in the line of succession who now have to ask the Queen's permission for them to wed. Beatrice is ninth in succession. Though she undoubtedly told HM about Edo she didn't need her permission to marry.

Princess Beatrice is a Princess for life. No monarch in modern times has ever taken royal titles from those who were born with them and who already have them, except for King George V in 1917 (in the middle of a world war. There was a redistribution and withdrawal of foreign and other titles at that time and at no other.)

A destination wedding with all of the assorted Windsors is not likely to happen for Beatrice and Eduardo. However I don't see why they couldn't opt for a small private reception there if some of his family  and friends are unable to make it to the UK.

If it weren't for the Queen and possibly Prince Philip, being anxious about seeing all the older grandchildren wed, it would be the ideal solution, I agree. However I do think that Andrew is the main driver here. He wants to elevate the York branch of the family to what I believe he thinks is its correct level.

Hence he, not necessarily the bride and groom, wants the televised ceremony, the carriage ride, the Chapel crammed to the brim with Royal relatives, the marching guardsmen. And of course much of that is achieved through using his mother's money, facilities, produce, wine cellars, transport etc as well as pulling strings as a Prince. I do think that, given a choice, both Beatrice and Edo would prefer to have a quiet but beautiful wedding in Italy.

Who knows?  I don't grudge Bea and Eugenie having modest royal weddings.. as I think it is their only day to shine.. but the Andrew factor is so unpleasant now that I think that unfair as it is, Bea would really be better to opt for a quiet private wedding.. However Im sure she would want the queen to be there and Phil..as they are old now and may not be around that muich longer... and if she marries in England it is going to have to be a bit of a "royal wedding.." with some Publicity...

Hasn't Eugenie made a point of having herself formally addressed as Princess Eugenie of York Mrs Jack Brooksbank? I read that she had. Beatrice will almost certainly do the same when she marries.

The only real modern equivalent except for Anne, (who was always addressed as Princess Anne AFAIR, not Mrs Phillips, until she became the Princess Royal) is Alexandra. I can't ever remember her being addressed as Hon Mrs/ Lady Ogilvy alone, but always as Princess Alexandra. (And even today Anne isn't Lady Lawrence.) So my guess is that formally all blood princesses are addressed in the same way, with the royal title first, followed by their marital name.

The form of address I'm talking about is when being announced at balls, notes in the CC, on envelopes, for example. I don't doubt that in everyday life Eugenie often goes by her married name. Doubt that Anne does, though. Different generation. And she is addressed as the Princess Royal alone.

We have wait and see till wedding day will have public or private if have require televised or NOT!?! But Royal fans wanted see glimpses of Beatrice?s wedding gowns stay tuned and wait confirmation from Palace and Yorks

We have wait and see if have wedding in Italy or London options HM Queen and Prince Philip too old to traveling flying to Italy UK government wouldn?t allowed that for HM Queen and Duke of Edinburgh

HM Queen never missed grandchildren wedding day it?s important for her must require have wedding in London we have wait confirmation from Palace and Yorks for wedding ceremony

Why would Beatrice lose her HRH? She's not getting divorced from the Queen's son which was the reason Fergie (and Diana lost theirs. However they still remained the Duchess of York and the Princess of Wales respectively.

And an HRH is not regarded as a title. It's a styling. If HRH Princess Beatrice of York decided to marry in a South American jungle, in the US, in Italy or halfway up a volcano in Indonesia, she would be HRH Princess Beatrice of York before the ceremony and afterwards, with the marital name following the Princess of York bit.

The one and only person in the BRF who did not remain a Princess after marriage was Princess Patricia of Connaught. Her father was the Duke of Connaught, third son of Queen Victoria.

She dropped the Princess title of her own choice and volition on her marriage to Alexander Ramsay in 1919. It was not taken from her, she renounced it. She then became Lady Patricia (as the daughter of a Duke) Ramsay from then on.

I imagine that being a step mother is an important role and a serious and sensitive one, so I am happy to see that she is embracing it well before the marriage. I wasn't sure she felt that comfortable around children. This was just a feeling I got from her body language when she and all the little attendants were going into St. George's the day of Eugenie's wedding.

She can't be a stepmother until they are actually married. She is the fiancee and has no status as stepmother. I don't think it great for the media to call her that.

Bea is not living with the man. They did not set up housekeeping and establish a residence together. She can see the child without living with Edo. It does matter because she is not the child's stepmother legally. She and Edo are not married nor do they even have a common law marriage.

She is still not the stepmother of that child now.

What if a man dated a few women or lived with them would they "all" be stepmothers without a marriage license. I think not.

If they had a relationship with the child, yes IMO they might well see them as a stepmum during the time of the relationship... I can't see why it is a big deal

I enjoy very much seeing royals (from all monarchies) getting married; basically to see the wedding dress, tiara, bridal party, the guest list - wedding attire 1 and 2, flower arrangements, the wedding service booklet (if not being broadcast).

The correct title.. I believe that the queen prefers is "Princess Mary, Mrs John Brown" or Princess Mary, Countess of Blank (Or in the case of P Alexandra she was Pss Alex the Hon Mrs Angus Ogilvy and later Angus got a knighthood..
... but in private I would imagine that Eugenie does go by her own name or "Mrs Brookbank" at work or in private social life..

of course she can and already is a stepmother to his son... for godness sake it's not 19th century!

according to all accounts she's fond of the litlle boy and enjoys her time with him it's all what matters - to her, he's already family.

from which i read they're living together for most of their relationship.

even non married couples who lives in different homes the girlfriend or the boyfriend consider themselves a stepparent as they have a good relationship with the kid(s). and see themselves as one family.

I did not know there was a change in the law that a fiancee can become a stepmother. she is still not married to him. It's the 21st century and fiancees don't get stepmother status until they go through a wedding ceremony. She did not set up housekeeping with him and they did not move in together. By all accounts she has her own residence, they can spend nights together and time together but they did not establish their own household or moved in together.

I know people who married someone with a child or children and they never considered themselves stepparents until after the wedding.

Relationships can break up before engagements or marriage so a man can't tell every single one of his girlfriends to consider themselves stepmother to his children. Then a Child could have 5 stepmothers in the same year if that is the "Rule." she can be fond of the child as fiancee of his father. But she's still not stepmother.

Camilla for instance was never called stepmother of William and Harry until after the wedding ceremony took place.

I disagree with you.

i didnt know that being a stepmother was ever a law thing/matter. it's about affection and human relations not a piece of paper.

what about men in 10 years had 3 or 4 wives? what'll be the difference if there wasnt a piece of paper involved... the relationship will still be there. marriages also can break-up within 3 years or less... as it's more important than longer or same duration relationship? i know people who dont consider the spouse of his or her parent a stepparent as it's someone they dislike.

as for camilla, she lived with charles for years before getting married, not sure what that wedding changed about her personal relations with william and harry

Its not a big deal for goodness sake.  Many people who have steady or live in relationships with someone who has children are considered step parents.. even if there is no legal relationship... Its like calling someone "aunt" because they are your parents' friend....  Its not a legal relationship but many kids used to do it...

Camilla was not stepmother until after the wedding. If people don't want the piece of paper, fine, but it still does not make Bea the stepmother, the media prose does not make it so either.  If there is no piece of paper, then one can just clean out the partners bank account and run. Camilla did not "live with" CHarles, they always had separate residences. She had apartment at CH but she also got to keep her residence. I doubt the boys considered her their "stepmother" when Charles was seeing Camilla while married to their mother and the years before the wedding.

In any case Edo's child has a mother so I think Bea's "influence"  is overstated. SHe may not see much of the child.

I suppose in a few months there will be plenty of speculation in the Press about Beatrice's wedding dress. I think she'll wear a veil, unlike Eug, maybe her mother's tiara, and I hope she stays away from lace. Lace has been overused in wedding gowns in the past decade IMO. Something fairly plain and simple, relying on an excellent cut, small defined waistline and a skirt that's not billowing but certainly not fitted. Both the Yorkies have to watch out for unflattering shapes and dress for their figures. I'm looking forward to see what Beatrice comes up with. Wonder whether she might go for an Italian designer?

Exactly @dianab. There are plenty of couples who are considered to be a "step-mother/step-father" by their step-children even if their biological parent isn't married  to their current partner.  In some cases, their step-parent may have played a greater role in raising them than their biological parent.

There are thousands of households across the U.S., UK, etc...in which this family situation is the norm. If Eduardo and Dara's son considers Beatrice to be his step-mother, then I don't see why it's anyone's business but theirs.

They can consider all they want. But Bea is not stepmother until after the wedding. IMO. It's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. I doubt the kid thinks of Bea as his stepmother, he is too young to do any sort of semantics in any case. He has his own mother. I think Bea's influence is overstated.

I doubt the Queen considers Bea the stepmother before she gets married. So maybe then Bea can skip the wedding and say it's just a piece of paper. I'd like to see what the Queen would say to that. I also think Bea wants the marriage the ring and not merely  live with Edo. That does not happen in that household. I doubt Bea would settle for "living together," she obviously wants to get married.

LIving together is not a panacea. The man sometimes say he does not believe in marriage and the woman agrees, then the man ups and leaves the woman and marries another. Sometimes the piece of paper is important and can allow the woman or man to get a settlement and a fair custody agreement if they have children.

^^^@dianab-Since I am a former full time and now substitute teacher, I've become very familiar with these types of living situation in which unmarried partners are considered to be the step-parents. If the the now separated/divorced biological parents are in agreement that their current and unmarried partners are participating in the child rearing then they'll typically include them on the student's information as one of the parents/guardians who are permitted to drop off/pick up their students.
@Curryong-I've pulled up some of Beatrice recent looks and she seems to favor lace sometimes for her outings ie: weddings, Ascot, evening wear so I wouldn't be surprised if there is some lace embellishment. I do agree though that she will need a fitted waist and that she'll probably wear a veil.

OOOHHH look at this day dress especially the bodice. Now this is a good start IMO to "design" her wedding dress. Could go with shorter sleeves or keep the 3/4 length. It's from 2015 but it is a classic shape that showcases a slim waist on Beatrice.

It's not "my" idea.  I doubt the Queen would want a "live in" relationship with Bea and Edo and I doubt Bea would want it too. She spent years with someone who would not commit to her and it was 10 years out of her life. I think at this time she would not "settle" for strictly live in. She wants what her sister has. IMO.  Princess Alexandra's daughter got married while pregnant apparently it was not "accepted" for Marina and her boyfriend just to live together and not marry.

Some people like the idea of marriage not some "casual" let's move in.  ANd a few weeks ago I noted that there are lawyers who work with couples living together. Even if they don't like the piece of paper it's not a great idea to have a loosey goosey sort of arrangement and get some legal protection if the relationship fizzles out.

charles and camilla, ed and sophie, kate and will, eug and her now hubby all of them lived together for years before getting married. bea is doing the same, it is no news. because it was reported she's living together with her future husband for months now it's you who's spinning it in your own way. the fact that all those people end up married dont 'annull/erases' at all their many years of relationship or changes the past (and important people) that any of them had.... i dont know as any of their living together changes beatrice being a stepmother that only means she has a relationship with her partner's child...

Sophie was given use of apartments in BP but she and Edward did not actually "move in together" she had her own residence.  Camilla spent time at CH from time to time but she kept her residence at Raymill.  Kate lived with her parents at Buckleberry, spent occasional nights with William at his residences and as the time came closer to the wedding, spent weekends with him in Wales. They never officially moved in together. She was at her parents home most of the time. She could not "live with" William in the barracks. Although they spent time together in his residences, he still broke up with her for a time.

It was reported? There is no report of Bea and Edo moving in together on any permanent basis. Or establishing a home together. That will happen after the wedding.

He has his own place. He has the child. They did not even date for "quite a while." I doubt the Queen moved him in there. He has his own place. He has a baby and co-parents with his ex. I doubt in residences with Bea.

Yes @dianab-Even Sophie/Edward, Zara/Mike, Peter/Autumn were like Jack/Eugenie, William/Catherine, Charles/Camilla and Meghan/Harry living together prior to their respective marriages, so it's not that surprising that Beatrice and Eduardo are doing the same. Since that is the case, Beatrice is involved with Eduardo's son frequently.

@wannable-Not surprising that they're over at SJP considering that it would provide security and privacy for the couple and on occasion Wolfie.

They did not "formally" set up housekeeping together. They spent weekends and nights together. Supposedly Sophie was given the use of BP apartments (not on a permanent basis) to commute easily to work in London.

Spending part of the time with a partner is not formally "living together." I disagree.

Why would Edo need security?

This is an opinion board and there is no "log" about how many days the couples lived in the same place. I am just as much entitled to my opinion as you are. Kate did not stay on any permanent basis in Wales with William. I read she would spend weekends there. He was in the military then. She did not set up housekeeping with William. She was in Buckleberry with her mom and dad. That is not full time Living Together.

The Queen never made any pronouncements about couples "having to" live together first. Premarital sex does not exactly equal "living together" on any regular basis.

Edo has a complicated domestic life with his ex having a baby I doubt Bea could move him into her place on any permanent basis. He had a life outside of Bea and I doubt his ex would want their baby living full time with Beatrice.

Women are move savvy today and I think if they move in with a partner. They want legal protection in case the man ditches her and moves out. The 1950s view would be women being naive and too trusting. And yes, some want the piece of paper. Bea of course probably spent a lot of time with Dave Clark and they had a relationship but he still just walked away.

what's the fuss about?  A lot of people consider themselves as step parents to children even if they aren't legally married to their partners.  And most young royals for many years now have lived with their SO's before marrying.  Its pretty well known. Bea is going to marry this guy, so if she now regards herself as the child's stepmum, prior to the wedding  I don't see what the problem is...

I would not say "a lot of people." " A lot of people" also consider themselves stepparents after the wedding.

They have not "formally" lived together or moved in together. It is not pretty well known. They have premarital sex and spend nights and weekends but there was never any formal announcement that someone is moving in permanently with a royal.

I think the media uses stepmum and the media does not speak for Beatrice.  Bea is still not his wife and what would happen say if the engagement was broken and she was saying she was stepmum and all of a sudden she was gone. It would create a lot of confusion for the child. I don't think she calls herself the stepmother.

The reality is that she is the fiancee and unless there was a secret wedding she is not the stepmother. Besides which the child has a mother who could marry and they would spend more time with the child than Bea. Bea may want her own children in any case and put her priority on them.

Yes all of these couples were living together before and after their engagements. Pretty much every European royal family has seen their members do the same: WA/Max, Frederik/Mary, Felipe/Leticia, Victoria/Daniel, Mette-Marit/Haakon with the exceptions being Phillips/Mathilde and Guillaume/Stephanie IMO.

I disagree. They did not set up housekeeping on any steady basis. Kate while putting some time in at Party Pieces was in residence with her parents. William could not put her up in his barracks so they spent Some Time on weekends together.

Bea's boyfriend has a complicated domestic life. He could hardly take the kid he had with another woman and move into Bea's home. There was the ex to consider in the arrangement. I would not be surprised if the ex gets married and she and her husband spend the most time with the child. Beatrice might want to concentrate on a family she has with Edo. Though she would welcome the child she could not be a substitute mother nor spend more time with the child than the mother does.

They live in the same city, probably about  a mile apart.. and since Edo' seems to be sharing parenting duties with his ex, I would assume he can spend a good deal of tiem with Beatrice at Her apartment.  People don't generally send out notices to the Times that they are moving in together but most couples do, before marriage... and the royals are no different...

Well when she marries Edo she will legally be his stepmother so Its to be hoped that she does think of herself as having a role in his life and being his stepmother.  I hope she is not going to wait till the wedding day to try and get close to the kid...

Princess Beatrice's Best Fashion Looks - Beatrice of York Chic Outfits (https://www.townandcountrymag.com/style/fashion-trends/g20746481/princess-beatrice-fashion/?slide=30)
She has a slim waist and overall small upper body, and a good designer would always proposed something that accents the positive. She could look very feminine and enviable lovely on her wedding day. The big issue, I would think, is whether the customer follows advice. Beatrice has been known to wear some pretty bizarre, unflattering clothes. I very much hope she makes a good decision on her wedding gown. I hope she wears a veil and a tiara, showing her lovely hair at its best (not everyone has enough hair to wear a tiara well). Anyway, that's my hope!

Beatrice seems to be fond of lace in her more formal clothing so I'm not holding out for a plain dress unadorned by any of it on her wedding day, to be truthful. And yes, some of her choices have been stylish and pretty. And I want to see that York tiara and a long veil.

Like Princess Cassandra I'm hoping that she doesn't just go for a trend regardless of her body shape, as something emphasising her hips would not look great IMO.

Of course not.. so he and Bea who is not exactly a word class worker, will have plenty of time to spend together...
That is not known. Successful people with businesses they started themselves tend to work longer hours and more than five days a week - sometimes because they have so much to do, but often because they are totally immersed in it.

Possbily but he is not someone who came up from poverty.. and its quite possible that as the boss, he is ready to give himself plenty of free time.  Beatrice is a flitter from job to job, I believe..unlike Eugenie who seems to be more stable in that line... so I would say the 2 of them  are well off enough to spend a good deal of time together.

Allegedly Dara the ex girlfriend is invited to the wedding, and Wolfie will be part of the bridal party.

Possibly, but I know from family experience that you can't be CEO of a successful business if you don't spend a lot of time and energy on it. If he started the business and made it successful, you know that he has already put a lot of himself into it. You can't just hire executives and expect them to run it just as you would, Of course, you could give up control and let it be their baby....usually with a sad outcome.  Maybe this is a different situation than Beatrice is used to - possibly he is a hard working man. I don't really know anything about him,

I doubt it somehow. He's born a rich aristocrat.. and while there are some "born rich" who are workaholics I'd say most of them aren't.  And Bea is more socialite than working gal.. so she will problaby expect him to be around...

I somehow don't think he has a demanding job. He probably has trust fund money and does not have to put in huge hours at the company.

According to this report in the Express Beatrice's wedding is likely to be 'privately funded'. The article states that a BP 'spokesman confirmed this'. This follows the fuss over the 2 million for Eugenie's nuptials.

Princess Beatrice wedding to be privately-funded after Eugenie?s cost taxpayer ?2 million | Royal | News | Express.co.uk (https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1187899/princess-beatrice-wedding-cost-Princes-Eugenie-taxpayer-private-funding)

If this is true, and we don't know that it is, it means IMO that the Queen, Andrew and Edo will be paying for most of the costs. Therefore the Regiment of Guards that were prominent at Eugenie's wedding  are unlikely to participate. There's also unlikely to be a carriage ride into Windsor imo as this would certainly increase security costs. These are covered by extra Home Office funding for the Thames Valley Police.

We don't  know whether this wedding will be televised either. However, there are bound to be lots of photos.

I think all 'the glossies' will. I can't see Beatrice going the Peter Phillips Hello route and giving any of them an exclusive on the wedding/reception. The Queen was apparently really disappointed that the bride and groom decided on that, but neither Peter nor Autumn had that much disposable income. However, Beatrice is in a different position. Edo and his family are very wealthy and Andrew apparently has plenty of money, though it's best not to investigate the sources of the wealth too closely!

I wonder if this is the climate for culling royal status and cutting back on royal expenditures. I bet they will go small, privately funded, and less of a typical royal wedding than we expect.

No wedding at Westminster abbey and St.George?s chapel what next?!? But Beatrice rip royal book like Duchess of Sussex unbelievable!!

1.no wedding at Westminster Abbey and St.George?s chapel
2.no carriages ride
3.no pomp wedding
4.no broadcast wedding televised

I think that Bea is considerably shyer than her sister Eugenie, and genuinely wants a quieter wedding with no pomp and circumstance. However, it's remarkable how this news chimes in with the public mood about Andrew which has no doubt been picked up by the BRF.

If there is a wedding at St George's and I feel there will be, in spite of the Fail's assertions, then no carriage ride and no broadcast will mean a very quiet and low key affair. And a reception at Royal Lodge wouldn't attract cameras either.

Well first off absolutely none of this is confirmed but if Bea and Edo wanted a wedding somewhere else I don't think they'd need the Queen's consent apart from checking to see if Granny and Grandpa could make it to the location. They would need consent to hold it in St. George's or any other Royal Peculiar but not the other way around.

The "not using tax payer money" is about the kerfuffle over the cost of security for Eugenie's wedding and probably her father's scandals but doesn't necessarily mean it will be a quiet low key wedding, I don't think Lady Gabriella's was for all the guests. Just that it probably won't be as public as Eugenie and Jack's.

She wouldn't be "ripping up the royal rule book" any more than Harry and Meghan actually did (which isn't much). She has a lot more "wiggle room" to do things differently if she wanted to anyway. It's only the Wales boys and her sister who have had anything particularly "public" since her parents' generation, many royals have married in places not WA or St. George's.

If the latest DM article is true, based on it, she and Edo are looking for venues, apparently they do not want Windsor nor St. Georges, nor nothing in London.  It may end up in Yorkshire in some castle or stately home, where there is medieval churches, abbeys and chapels.

I hope not, too. Hopefully the date will be established long before and that whatever was planned for the day can be changed. I understand engagements are made almost a year in advance, but some things can be re-scheduled, where some cannot. I hope Bea wears a tiara, and I think she will, as Lady Gabriella did. I'm also betting it will be at St. George's.

I don't think there will be news until much closer to the wedding, which may be months away. That is unless Fergie gives an interview about it (possible) or, for some reason the good relations between Edo and his ex turn sour and the tabloids get a sniff of a story.

After all, the couple are virtually private citizens and a strong hint was given IMO when there was no engagement interview that these two want their nuptials to be a lot more out of the public eye than Eugenie's wedding was. (This is besides the optics following the recent Andrew mess.) This was confirmed by the statement that it was all going to be privately paid for. Well, nearly all of it!

I'm actually more surprised there's been no pregnancy news from Eugenie, than the lack of news about this wedding.

As I've said before, I just feel, that for security of many of the guests and for other reasons mainly to do with the Queen and PP, the location of this wedding is more likely to be St George's than anywhere else, probably around April/May. It may well be followed by a get-together in Italy for European friends in the summer.

And with the royal calendar so tight, there are only so many weeks it can happen, unless it is extremely intimate and small. We should probably also assume that there are alternate plans because of the Epstein mess, ensuring that the plans won't be made known for quite some time.

@amabel, I agree with your perspective on why the wedding is going to be low-key. This is a bad time for a glamorous wedding. It's all terribly sad for Andrew's daughters, they really don't deserve how Andrew's past behavior will impact their lives.

With her small waist it wouldn't be difficult to design something really lovely for her. But sometimes she wants to be avant-garde and, of course, designers are always wanting to do a statement design. The results are sometimes unflattering and the portraits won't stand the test of time. I hope she and her designer don't collaborate on something way out there!

Of course, it just won't be so much published in the media.

(I bet James Middleton and Alizee will have more pictures and reporting, because they won't be able to close the streets to go to a chapel for example...like Pippa and James Mathew's wedding, many pictures of people arriving their local Berkshire church).

I believe that Beatrice will have a gown that is made of quality materials and expert craftsmanship but the any additional items: beading, a long train etc..would increase the cost. She might opt to wear a tiara  like her sister and cousin Zara or she might choose to go with just a simple veil.  :)

Inevitably it will be front page news because the Middleton's do not own the streets of the Berkshire chapel (IF James and Alizee marry there).  Just like Pippa all the bridal party and guests were photographed arriving.  The reception was private at the Middleton manor, 30 acre property.

If it will be at the Bride's hometown in France (traditionally its the bride's hometown/church/reception), her family own a property in remote countryside LE MOULIN DU CHASSAING.  But, if the couple agree, I believe most of their friends are in England, hence Berkshire, whilst her entire family will probably travel to London.

In reference to Beatrice, I feel that since her dad is in so much trouble, they will keep the cameras and private professional filming, and very likely showcase to the media a few pictures.

Wannable, I agree. The Palace will be careful about appearing too celebratory and jubilant at a wedding when Prince Andrew is in so much trouble, his name hasn't been cleared yet.

I don't think Fergie and Andrew  and HM would want to tone down the celebrations at their firstborn daughter's wedding. It is her day and Edo's and I hope it is a happy one and the two will have a wedding to remember. I think there will be coverage of the wedding and in the US magazines. Of course Majesty Magazine will cover it as well.

I don?t think we have wedding televised coverage for Beatrice?s in her father the Duke of York get in big trouble we have low key and low profile wedding,@sandy,@wannable and @Blue Clover

I?m sure we have published pictures of Beatrice?s and Edoardo after wedding would release pictures from Palace and Yorks also but no lavish wedding ceremony period!! Per Beatrice and Edoardo makes decisions is finalized!!

See my post #194!!

I think definitely the wedding  coverage will be in  People and Us Magazines.

I don?t think so!! But we will don?t get wedding televised due Duke of York?s scandal on his friend Jeff Epstein

I think it will be in People and Us. Because Eugenie's and Jack's wedding was in People and Us and I these magazines like royal wedding coverage. If Eugenie got coverage certainly Bea will And there is an editor of People who always makes room for coverage about royal family members. I think Bea and Edo will have a wedding about on the scale of Eugenie's and Jack's. I think clips of the wedding coverage will be available but not the whole wedding.

The York family may be keeping quiet about Princess Bea's wedding plans, because they don't know when or how the Epstein issue will be playing out in the courts. That must be frustrating, though they have probably made a Plan A, a Plan B, and maybe even more. That must be so frustrating! I really wish them well and hope that it can be a happy celebration in spite of it all.
