I knew that Auguste's father Eugene had the title Duke of Leuchtenberg. This article informed me that Eugene had the additional title of Prince of Eichstätt.

It was interesting to learn that Queen Maria II chose Auguste as her husband because he was not a member of an already reigning dynasty.
